That wasn't my point. I'd rather not have something as prolific to be associated with the various data brokers, especially Russian ones, (telegram is a Russian app). It's not the users I'm worried about, rather the app developers.

I know this thread is very old, and I have been off and on intermittent, but is there a solid alternative to Skype the does not require personal information, in order to open an account. I did not have many Skype chat partners, but there are a few I miss chatting with and every 5th lunar eclipse, I would be blessed to share an experience of mutual, respectful and private anonymous fun. But all in all I miss the wonderful candid and sensual open dialogue, friendship and connection..

I made a separate google account -You can add another account to your already existing account. To use Google chat. I like it much more then Kik, Telegram and Teams. It usually works more consistently and there are more options on how to communicate.

Thank you so so much, I totally did not think about that. Kik, was good, but became so infested with spam bots and junk. Thank you again, I truly appreciate the suggestion.

Discord is also a good option, and for the more privacy focused folks, Proton has added Proton Meet to their suite of services.
