I've had the swimming situation happen several times! I did eventually learn to do the pull away from my body trick.

With things like jeans, there is no visible bulge, but some looser fitting stuff will. Sweatpants are too thick, but I've had some workout shorts that show it. Also some pants, like dress pants. There are times I had to dress professionally at work, tucked in shirt and dress pants. The material is so much thinner that there isn't much hiding it.
