small world, love on line

Did you ever sit here and wonder how you managed to get to like people so much when they live on the other side of the planet? You hear all the stories bout all the wonderful marrages that have been destroyed because one of the couple met some one on line and ran away to live happily ever after with some one half a world away. Can you really blame the internet for that, can love really be discovered through a computer? In my view, if someone leaves their spouse to live with someone one the other side of the world, then the marrage or relationship could not have been so great to begin with. People don't run out on happy relationships, not generaly anyway. I know all to well the thrill of falling "in love" on line, but is it enough to go the distance? What do you think?

Wow! This is a heavy topic but I have to agree with you Moonlight-if it didnt happen online, chances are it would have happened online.

I see alot of couples here in Lit that come on together and enjoy the experiences together, both knowing what is going on in each other's lives and that is the way it should be. If someone is taking the time to go behind their significant other's back online than the motivation would be there to do the same in RL.

I have to agree with your viewpoint on this. But this is only my two cents worth.
