Snake Dance
You're eating dinner with your father as normal, just the two of you. Neither of you says much as per normal. You usually can't go long without antagonising him and he usually rises to the bait. The same routine that seems to happen these days, you finish your meals in silence, you rise without thanks, dump your dishes in the sink and go to watch some TV before heading up to your room.
But tonight, you feel extra lethargic really quickly. You move to go to bed as your eyelids feel like lead, and your muscles struggle to haul you from the couch. Groggily you stumble to the stairs and your father comes from the kitchen to see what's wrong. As you totter, he slips his arm under you to support you, help you to bed. Your vision begins to blur and fade and isn't that the front door not the stairs?.......
-------
Time must have passed. You awake feeling a little woozy, very disorientated and as your senses come back to you - in unfamiliar surroundings. Sun, very very bright sun pours in through a big window with heavy curtains drawn back, lighting every inch of the carpeted room and the luxurious soft and oversized bed you seem to be laying on. As you move to sit up and see more, the slither of satin makes you take in yourself first - and you discover you're wearing a sleek, white bridal dress, sheer white stockings, barefoot and ... yes, the ring on the finger... Just as your brain starts to truly scramble for memories, answers, there is a deep loud creak and a heavy wooden door opens and I stride in softly, like a jungle cat, carrying a tray. My green eyes brighten and my deep voice softly murmurs, "Ah, you're finally awake my Pet."
