So... Anyone ever grow a pineapple?

I've grown pineapples from a top. It took about 2 years to get the first fruit and another 18 months to get the second. 18 months seems to be the minimum time for new pups to fruit.

The latest pup started growing a fruit in Australia in December and recently the new fruit flowered. Pretty purple flowers that only lasted a couple of days.

Take a good look Marsha and get your butt in gear!

That's awesome... thank you! I didn't know that pineapple plants got so big. I will revise the bed size plan accordingly.

The girls new home

Almost two years later, give or take nine days.

Marsha is conceived.

Marsha is born. (Note Jan coming along behind.)

Now Marsha is a Mama. If history is any guide, I should have a bouncing baby pineapple in about august. Knock wood.

And Marsha and Jan are in their new home. Planted with organic mulchy soil with some coffee grounds. (We can thank that cold brew for getting this done - it is fitting that the grounds should be part of the bed. Ha.)

Dole stock remained unchanged in light trading.

Tin soldier futures spiked at closing.

They're amazing. As are the carrots. You should get a job as a grow op manager. They make $110 000+ CAD a year here which is close to $250 000 USD.
Beautiful. You're garden is splendid. :rose:

Thank you. :)

I don't think they make that much here - at least not in my neck of the woods. But it might be fun to do something with plants.

I'm taking the next couple of days off from any serious work in the yard. My body might go into rebellion if I don't. :D

I got a friend whose official title is "hemp grower coordinator." He makes decent money, doing what he loves, and excellent perks.

Although, no growing pineapples in Indiana.
