There's two types of thread here (excluding the PB which is just a total shit show).

There's the ones where people talk about and show something of themselves. These are the ones I like. Where like-minded folk engage, post pics if they feel like it or enjoy other people's pics if they don't. But the key is engagement. It's real people talking to each other.

Then there's the other sort. Where people just repost horny shit off the internet. Usually porn-perfect models. No context, no communication. Just yet another pic of some random hardbody. What in the fuck's this kind of post even for? People without the wit to find their own jolly-fodder? I mean there's a bajillion porn sites already with all this stuff quite literally, to hand.

If anybody has a valid explanation for why the latter sort exists, please I dunno, tell someone else?

So true, Lit's opened my eyes in the few years I've been a member about many things, some I love some not so much. For sure if we were all alike in our tastes with no thoughts on expanding our lives this might be fairly boring place.

Some people don't need or want to engage. Different strokes for different folks.

If there is a thread with content I'm not interested in, and the OP is not a poster outside of such threads, I just put them on ignore. If you don't like such threads, I suggest you do the same. Ultimately, we're all here for the porn, whatever form it may take. I can only assume the folks on the PB get off on insulting each other.

I reply with a personal story when I find a question I can relate to. For a while, I was feeling self-conscious about this as I am not a fan of people who like to turn the camera on themselves. But on the forums, sharing my personal encounters with anonymous strangers is so freeing. It's almost like flashing someone you will never see again. I want to see real people and most of all read about real people's kinks and adventures. It lets me know there are others out there like me thinking of these things day and night.

I think there should be a Forum that is exclusively for serious discussion about sexuality, sexual health, sexual problems, etc... I find it strange that the topics of Fetish & Sexuality are combined. It's frustrating to be a part of serious Sexuality convo only to be Rickrolled by some douchebag posting a non-sequitur barely-legal picture. Makes you want to immediately vacate an otherwise interesting discussion.

As for those barely legal pictures. I've asked this before, I'll ask it again here....

As for me.. I'd be embarrassed because I've revealed details about my sexual interests I wouldn't discuss publicly, but I would not feel one iota of shame. There's nothing I've posted, liked, or have written about in my stories that embraces misogyny, violence, or non-consent to even the smallest degree. So would I be embarrassed? Sure. Ashamed? No.

You expressed it better than I have! Freeing is a great term and it is what I look for; genuine engagement and openness about what turns us on deep down is liberating and healthy.

I don't really see why the existence of those threads is an irritant. Even if you accidentally click on one and find out it isn't to your liking, it's cost you mere seconds.

I like both kinds of threads, personally. The ones with pro pics still say something about the posters. To me, it's kind of like sharing music with your friends. It's something you like and want to share. The amateur threads are more like playing music with your friends, I guess.

I don't think I'll ever quite get why these things bother people. It seems a shame. I know I have much more challenging things to face in my own life than whether a type of thread is to my liking. Plus, I'm mostly a live and let live person.
