[SOLVED] Is Literotica the Right Place for Me? (It is)

I mean, other than the fact that many of them are worshippers of Laurel.

Yeah, I couldn't help myself here. :p
You prick! Now I'm conflicted. I was going to give you a "thumbs up, good post," then I read your small print, so that's "Haha." It's not often I don't know what to do! Momentarily gobsmacked, is there an emoji for that?

Carry on ;).

I find it difficult sometimes not to regard the AH as an organism with an entirely unpredictable and wacked out immune system.

There are certain topics that get T-cells swarming in from every direction, attacking and devouring without the slightest true assessment of the benignity of the protein. A lot of this is predictable given enough time in the trenches here, but I always feel for the new poster who offers up just the wrong polypeptide to the cytokine storm that that often results. (Particularly if the intrusion is the same protein that has shown its face twice in the past week.)

I have absolutely no idea if this results in a better or worse off organism, but the antibody ferment can have frightful aspects.

As others have said, just another day on the internet. Going viral has its disadvantages.

Ah yes, the ceremonial “Woe is me” thread, clearly not bait for ego-fluffing and validation-farming. Those only come from people with nothing to offer a forum but performative despair wrapped in faux vulnerability. You can always tell because they’ll write a whole novel about themselves while swearing all they know how to write is short stories.
Hey look, Tilan is back!

I can't read this whole thread, it's too much. Just stay. LitE isn't what it was in '23 when I first wrote, it isn't what it was in '15 when I was here a reader with no account. The stories published have changed, they will change again, along with readers.

I left AH after 10 months; it's overwhelming, all the different opinions and whatnot. I learned a great deal from the generous writers and their advice, but the voices get in my head and it confuses me more, I had to leave.

I don't care about length or brevity of a story; short, novella, novel, doesn't matter. 1 page or 9 without a chapter (my most popular is 9 with no chapters); no one has an answer, never will.

Lit only has certain rules that have to be followed, everything else is a recommendation or opinion, it doesn't matter. Pulp fiction? Great! Saying something, making a point? Great. It's all smut regardless.

Write. The golden rule here. Just write.

Write. The golden rule here. Just write.
BUT: The AH has had some incredibly entertaining and interesting posters in the past who never wrote any stories here, notably a lovely person from Florida, shereads. The forum side of Literotica, including the AH, is its own ecosystem apart from the stories.

StillStunned's portfolio reminded me why I decided to sign up for Literotica in the first place: to experiment, to learn, and to have fun.
One of the greatest things about publishing here, for me, is that it's opened up my eyes to all kinds of styles and genres that I had no interest in writing. Besides a few of the contests and challenges, a lot of that is due to the AH, and the discussions of the craft that challenged me to try new things. And to interacting with other writers here and getting their feedback - mostly in the form of encouragement to write longer stories than I had in mind.

I'm a more complete writer than I was two and a half years ago, and now I have a more open mind to the endless possibilities that writing offers. And that's thanks to Lit and its authors.

Correct. The guy should take up flying. He's got more alts than an altimeter.
It takes only one to smear scat on your faces and see you prancing around in your new mask.

Sadly, I don’t have the spare time these days to waste on online bugs, but it’s good to know my ghost will go on haunting you for the rest of your meaningless lives.
