What’s more important to you? Love and affection or passion and lust?
What would you rather choose? Undying commitment and compatibility or physical attraction and mind blowing sex?
You could go this way for a number of reasons or you could go that way for the same number. Stop! No need to think about it. Your answer should always be both. Not one or the other. Both! You should never have to choose and you sure as hell should never settle for one or the other. Because if you choose one of them, you will always look for the other one. Maybe not straight away, maybe not for a long time, but eventually you will. Something will always be missing.
You can have the most meaningful and deep relationship, overflowing with mutual love and adoration for each other, but if there is no passion, if there is no physical desire and longing for each other, then you will not be satisfied. You will ache for more. You will crave it. And inevitably you will look for it somewhere else.
But then on the other hand, what if you have the most amazing physical connection with someone? Where the need for each other’s bodies is almost impossible to explain. Where the bond of your flesh is so extraordinary that you think it could never possibly be any better. There is obviously intimacy and a certain kind of affection, but what if the main thing is not there? What if there is no love? If that’s the case then what’s the point of all that animalistic sex anyway?
Never choose. Never accept one or the other. Demand both. Demand it all. You deserve someone who wants, and who expects everything from you, just like you do of them. Only then will you have a chance to last. Otherwise, your one will simply be a marker on the journey to ‘The One’…
That was the key. It was strong, unbreakable. There was only one of its kind and it protected something very fragile and yet extremely powerful. No man had ever received it. Only a certain kind of person with particular qualities and special character would ever be able to claim it. It had to be earned and fought for.
That was the key to her. It gave access to her body. It revealed her heart. It offered her soul. She gave it to him because she wanted him to be the only one who could see beyond the heavy gates. She wanted him to defend what it kept hidden. She did not give it lightly but she did so willingly. She chose him because of what he had shown her and what she saw in him.
She trusted. She believed. She opened up in a way she never had before. It seemed natural and obvious. She never questioned herself for doing it or him for accepting it without hesitation. For her it was meant to be. There was nothing more simple or complex to it. Life, destiny, or whatever it was, had chosen this way to finally make their paths cross and turn them into one going forward.
That was the key. It was his now. She hoped he would always keep it safe and hold on to it until that moment when the flame behind the lock finally burned out.
