That's probably why I didn't complete in 2004.
In 2003 I wrote, edited and submitted all 50,000 words to Lit by the 20th.
In 2004 too many things were happening in November.
This year? I don't know. Now I have done it once the incentive isn't so great.
However - advice to those trying it for the first time - You do NOT have to produce a fully plotted and planned single story. Any mess of 50,000 words will do, even the start of half a dozen stories that are rattling around in your head. All that is necessary is to write 50,000 words about anything in November. What you do with the 50,000 words afterwards is up to you.
If you have a target of 2,000 words a day you can afford one or two days off. If you have a lesser target - any distraction and you'll run out of time. If you have reached 14,000 by the end of the first week you'll probably succeed.
