Before she died, I would buy my Grandma brooches at least 3x a year. Now I wear them in her memory.

But people who don’t know the reason just see it as eccentric.

I listen to podcasts on earbuds at work and I will laugh out loud if something is funny enough. After a while, I learned to tell new employees otherwise it creeps them out.

I have noticed and been told it is weird to walk away from a fight. Verbal or physical does not matter. Man, I am disengaging to save myself from an orange jump suit. No one is worth that and folks seem to like to go for the low hit. SMH folks need to be careful out there. They think they are messing with a lamb and get a lion instead. … or as the kids these days say… fuck around and find out. 🤣

Playing rugby. They may judge me as Not weird so much as slightly off. Or as my wife says a special kind of stupid.

I stand in rivers waving a long, bendy stick around, flinging bits of fur and feathers lashed to a hook into the water in an attempt to outwit creatures with a brain the size of a pea. And usually, I don't outwit them.

I have to set my alarm for an 'odd' number of minutes and can't set it on the hour, 1/4 or 1/2 hour. So if I want to get up at 6.45, I have to set my alarm for 6.43 or 6.47. I've done this as long as I can remember but I think other people find it peculiar!

Respect others. Strange but folks think it’s strange. I get jokes and people mistakenly think I am a pushover. MFs don’t understand my bite is way worse than my bark. 🤷🏾‍♀️

I wear a set of Bose QC45 noise canceling headphones in the dining room of the 55+ living complex where I reside. I do this because many of the residents are very hard of hearing and talk loud. The wait staff is trained to talk loud to the residents for the same reason. For me, it is a cacophony of noise and drives me crazy. Thus the Bose ambient noise canceling headphones. And I let light music play through the headphones from my iPad via a Bluetooth connection.

Of course, I am the only one in the room (of about 30-40 people) who does this. I get a lot of funny looks. But I am peaceful...
