Songs that make you hot. . .

Yes, that Latin beat, accompanied with Santana's soulful sounds is very hot. Makes one want, need, to "move" in all kinds of wonderful ways.

As much as I tend to focus on lyrics, acoustical arrangements really get me going, as well. Anyone ever listen to Jean-Luc Ponty? My favorite (sensuous) songs of his are Ethereal Mood and Renaissance. I love how, in Ethereal Mood, the different instruments are introduced into the song, like different sensations, one at a time, and join together.

I wish I could have found his song, Renaissance, on YouTube, as it is very sensuous, as well. This song also has solos for the various instruments and brings them together. Good stuff!

Yeah, all that, too. But quite frankly every time Carlos starts with his guitar . . . well I darn near orgasm.

As for the music, there are some classical pieces that 'tug' at me in different ways. Heck their's songs that I hate the words to, but love the song. (Let's get drunk, and be somebody by Toby Keith comes to mind.)

Their's this one classical piece I hear occasionally, like in movies and stuff. I don't know the name and I can't hum it - it's too complex a tune. But if I ever figure out who does it and what it's called I'm SO going to buy a cd of it. Pachobel's (sp?) Canon in D makes me want to dance. Their's so much more than words in a song that does it for me. I'm not sure how to explain what Fer Elise does to me, but it's also a huge favorite of mine. Bach's Joyful . . . the list is long. Heck if it was just words then 'my baby does the hanky panky' would probably work. LOL

On this recommendation, I youtubed it, listened to about 3 tracks, then went and bought it, Tricky's previous one (Pre-Millenium Tension), Massive Attack's Mezzanine, and Portishead's Dummy. Got in a mood apparently.

Soooo....sexy party at Casa de Quint!

Is there going to be chocolate?

Several already mentioned such as anything Marvin Gaye, Annie Lennox, Chris Isaak, most definitely kd lang, the cd of Gary Moore's Furry mentioned is great. Lately it seems I am leaning more heavily into my trip hop stuff than the soul/r&b - love Portishead, Massive Attack, DJ Shadow, Miguel Migs, Bent. Basically I like rhythm/emotion in music that can pull you along whether it be the music or the vocals.

A couple of others:
Dave Matthews - Crash into Me
Bowie - I Would Be Your Slave, Seven Years in Tibet
Elvis Costello & Burt Bacharach - entire album
Pretty much anything done by Everything But The Girl, Floetry, Zap Mama, Me'Shell Ndegeocello (her music is just made for fucking), Prince, and especially Sade
George Michael - Flawless, Amazing, Older
Maroon 5 - Secret/Aint No Sunshine
The Philosopher Kings - Charms, Fingernails to Claws
Roxy Music & Byran Ferry - To Turn You On

All I have to do is hear his voice and I get wet. Deep, soulful and sexy as hell. Just thinking about him singing and my chair is wet....
