Great choice!
Now you have me working up a LW premise.

Great choice!
Well, as far as this thread goes... the intent of the thread was really about music that you might be playing as you write your story (rather than music that serves as the plot device), but I've been happy with either interpretation. So that's totally your call. In terms of the story itself... there are plenty of Loving Wives stories that don't have much sex in them, because the focus is on the breakdown of the relationship. I would say that you should let the narrative lead on that issue, and work out what sex is appropriate after you've got the story together otherwise. So, considering the usual drama in the LW category, would a story with only implied sex work there? Or does there need to be a definitive sex scene?

Yeah, I actually have four/maybe five songs now where part of the lyrics will be in the story as a device moving the story along.but I've been happy with either interpretation. So that's totally your call.

Sex can always happen in flashback - remembering the good times ('how did we ever come to this'?), or of course stumbling across your partner having sex with somebody else.... not such a thrill usually!OOooohhhh...oops

I have the beginning, some of the middle and the end complete. I just need to fluff out the middle with story that's in my head, but not yet on the Word doc. At this point, there will be implied sex once or twice, but no complete sex scenes. I have the breakdown of the relationship. Sex would be superfluous at this point. Other than the fact that this is Literorica and most people are going to expect the sexin's.
What a great song! Perhaps they were reading the Comments section tooi got really into The Mountain Goats for a while during the pandemic (This Year may have saved my life a little bit at one point), and they also have maybe the most joyfully bitter song about a collapsing relationship that I've ever heard...
I hope that our few remaining friends give up on trying to save us
I hope we come up with a failsafe plot to piss off the dumb few that forgave us
I hope the fences we mended fall down beneath their own weight
And I hope we hang on past the last exit, I hope it's already to late
I guess technically we could have Loving Lesbian Wife adventures on LW, couldn't we? With lots of coordination so that nobody has to suffer the backlash alone. Fifty LLW stories published in a single day, a deluge of supportive comments:It occurred to me that there's no equivalent categories to LW for women or gay men or trans/nb folks, no Loose Hubbies or Slippery Spouses...
Which is a shame, because we could definitely get some stories out of Ani DiFranco
now that sounds like an excellent Writing Challenge, I would be SO curious to see @THBGato and @onehitwanda and @FrancesScott and a few other sapphic superstars write stories that tackled LW tropes, all to be published on the same dayI guess technically we could have Loving Lesbian Wife adventures on LW, couldn't we? "Loved it but she should have killed the bitch"
"Which bitch?"
"The bitchy one."
"I loved her! The other bitch was a real bitch."
"This is so confusing... can't you use their names?"
"Huh? Women have names?"
(Edit: To be clear, this is a mischaracterization of the great majority of the LW audience made for humorous effect).

The thought has occurred to me. I have one nebulous plot bunny based (in keeping with this thread) on the song Manchester Air by Saint Sister.now that sounds like an excellent Writing Challenge, I would be SO curious to see @THBGato and @onehitwanda and @FrancesScott and a few other sapphic superstars write stories that tackled LW tropes, all to be published on the same day![]()
Reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete? The thought has occurred to me. I have one nebulous plot bunny based (in keeping with this thread) on the song Manchester Air by Saint Sister.
From the back of the bike you told me you were late.
I said, "I can't go much faster."
You said, "no, not like that."
One half of a couple steps out on her wife in order to get pregnant. Does she do so with permission? I might deliberately obfuscate that...
It'll end up RAAC.
One of the things that's stopping me is the thought of all the LW reading I'd need to do beforehand to get my head around the category. Not sure it'd be worth it...

That is such a ripper of a song and performance - thanks for sharing! (edit - now on auto-repeat - does it hurt that she's goddamn beautiful as well as a great singer?)Another one for the theoretical Slippery Spouses category:
(This whole Tiny Desk concert is one of my favorites, but specifically this version of Stayaway wrecks me every time)
Damn you, Bobby. I had all but forgotten this song until you posted it. I’ve been hearing this song in my head for days. It’s a heart-wrenching song, right up there with Whiskey Lullaby. This song speaks to all the LW stories where the wife justifies her infidelity by being neglected and unappreciated.
Full of Cheer by Home Free is the same idea with a Christmas twist. I had a plot bunny show up with this idea and I told it to call me next Halloween.Thank God and Greyhound (You’re Gone) Ray Clark. It starts off with sad undertones as he describes his wife/GF/SO leaving but once she gets aboard the bus, it swings into a happy tune.
