And so Marcus was forced to watch, and denied the ability to act because his folk being discovered was worth the life of his master. His master choked on his own blood as the thief ran away with $50 in stolen credits as Marcus held his master in the parking lot

"Master why do you allow such petty filth to be your end" he cried as his masters eyes soon fixed on the stars, and his breathing stopped.

Two days later he found himself in the city of Manhattan following a young girl for no reason he could understand.

I wasn't sure if I liked Manhattan. We'd not been left with much choice in the matter - where my father moved, we all moved - and he'd been tasked with being one of the new magistrates appointed by the Mayor.

I was due to start college in the fall, but I had the summer to myself. Having not made any friends as yet, I browsed the mall alone, unaware I was being followed.

He had spent time pondering the death of his master. He thought at first that it was a simple mugging. But that didn't explain his current state of affairs. He was being compelled here.

He let his eyes wander as he roamed his way into a mall, and after awhile he realized that he was following her.

Why was he following her? He wasn't sure. But he knew of was sorcery. He knew it was something his masters dying breath had imparted on him.

But what did it have to do with her? He decided to get closer. He needed to get a better look at her, maybe then he might get a clue. How old was she. Where was she from. What could she have to do with an old mans death half way across the city?

After a while browsing, I headed to a small cafe and ordered a latte and a cake.

I sat watching people go by - one of my favourite hobbies. I didn't feel threatened when I was sat at a table holding tight to my purse. The crime rate had shot up in recent months, and I was hoping once I got started on campus I would feel less afraid.

He followe sher to a little food court, getting a closer view of the petite little red headed girl. She had a stark angular beauty to her face, and the rest if her body was slim and angular, the only real feminine curve belonging to her waist hips and ass, of which she did have quite a well shaped one.

The longer he watched her, taking a seat some distance
Off it the side he began to feel like he recognized her. Or at least her features

Was that the daughter of the governmental asshoke that was trying to plow over the park, under which a sacred cove existed.

He smiled as he began to see, or at least so he thought, the reason he had been compelled to her. Once he got er alone he was going to have some questions for her.

As I finished my drink, my cell began to ring.

"Hey Dad. Everything ok?" I asked.

"Yes of course. Just giving you advance notice - as part of the deal for the park, I've got your mother doing dinner for the owner tomorrow. Why don't you go buy yourself a pretty dress and impress his son?" he suggested.

"Message received and understood" I sighed, and rang off.

Sometimes I hated my life.

He watched her mood of indifference change to one of disgruntlement as she finished her phone conversation. He smiled at that.

There was no better mind for molding than one in turmoil. He would be able to persuade her to come with him quite readily, but he needed to see where her car or house was. He still had a bit of following to do. But maybe he could have some fun with her.

He muttered subtly under his breath as he flicked his wrist, a thin wisp of air zipped across the distance unseen, slicing the strap of her top, making it appear as though it popped.

As I headed back towards my favourite boutique, I became aware my strap had come undone. Cursing under my breath, I popped into the ladies and readjusted it. It wasn't perfect, but it would do until I got home.

Heading into the boutique, I picked out 3 dresses. Rather than try them on, I took them straight to the desk, paid and started to head back to the car. I was now in a really foul mood.

He cursed himself as she went to pay, without giving him the pleasure of watching her in te dressing room. However, she was now leaving, and that suited him better. As he stalled her he began a complex incantation that would give him invisibility.

He followed her, now invisible, out to the parking lot. His eyes scanning about for witnesses as they came to her little sports car. She made the vehicle chirp to attention as she unlocked it and popped the small trunk. He took that moment to slip into the passengers seat undetected.
