Pretty much this, I don't know if Florida has similar problems. I'm sure when all is said and done North California isn't anxious to lose the various taxes that So. Cal tourism brings in, and don't we have a majority of the ports as well? Oh and the Marines.![]()
It's true....we do enjoy their big bux megatropolis economy....I couldn't afford to live the way I do if I couldn't go sip megatropolis economic cream and drive it 5 hrs north where it goes literally 6-9x as far. Bay area pay scale, BFE cost of living......it's the only way to go
While I agree that Nor Cal is way more Oregon and Washington than LA Diego (Seriously without a map can you even tell where one ends and the other begins?) I while we're far, far more conservative as a general rule than you are up there, I think you'd be shocked how quickly we turned purple/blue. We have large minority population, a fairly vocal gay population. A lot of the major issues of the Republican party don't really hold here either.
Oh yea for sure, esp in the metro areas where all the money/power is anyhow.
I often say to m y Republican friends that you're a REpublican because you don't know what one is. And you don't know what one is because you've never seen one.
True LOL
I'd wager that deep south Democrats are the same way.
Maybe.....I found deep south dems to be more loud/proud....like Rob or totally closeted about it. And I'm sure that has to stem from the fact that for every one of them there are like 500 vettemans.
So not that you're entirely wrong, but I think the dynamics play out a little different in reverse than you might think. I'd like to hear what Rob thinks about that....
