Lady Emily Montague - Reece is a beautiful, rich and talented young woman of 18 year. She lives in the well-to-do bourgeoisie of Georgia. She longs for romanticism, trying to forget the strict formalities the aristocratic environment demands from young ladies. Even as a child Emily longed for physical contact. Emily tries to discover her own sexuality in an environment where physical topics are taboo. Her sexual curiosity and her innocence make her an easy target for men who do not care about her chastity and honour.
The year the beautiful, young Lady Emily Montague - Reece turned 18, her parents decided to introce her to society. They thought it best for their daughter to engage with Stephen, the son of Comte Vercourt. Her Father, Lord Montague is an extinguished business men and the owner of several plantations.
Most of the time, Lord Montague and his family resided in in a chateau on a luxurious estate in the countryside surrounding New Orleans. Lord Montague had two sons, Eric and James, both of them were older then Emily. Then a few days after her 18th birthday the country was torn apart because of the beginning of the secession war. Her parents decided it would in the best interest of Emily to stay with the family Vercourt in New Orleans. Her parents were quite sure, the mother of her fiancé would chaperone their daughter. The most important thing was that their daughter was safe and far away from pillaging soldiers who might deprave their daughter of her honour. Emily stayed now with the family of her fiancé for a month.
Every Sunday the bored rich elite of New Orleans gathered in the residence of Monsieur Vercourt for a garden party.
Since she had returned home from the private school for young ladies her fiancé had introduced her in society of New Orleans. She arrived at the garden party in the finest dress imaginable, a fantasia of white silk with fine lace and decorated with innumerable sprays of real roses that her black maid, Dahlia, had painstakingly pinned on that very afternoon.
Her gown's bodice had a centre front and was fully lined with blue cotton. The neckline was cut rather low in a sweetheart shape. The material was gathered horizontally around the neck and was accented with three fabric rosettes - one on each shoulder and one at the centre front. The bodice was well fitted and accentuated her firm bosoms. The short sleeves were beautiful with drapes of fabric falling from the shoulders. The sleeves were slightly pulled over her naked tender shoulders. The skirt fell flat in the front. It was fully lined and had a scalloped ruffle attached to the hemline on the lining. On her feet she wore high heeled leather shoes. Her rich auburn hair was tied back in a neat bun, and plaited over pads in a chignon, worn at the back of her head, with a few strands draped over her face. Her shining skin, her full brown eyebrows, her oval face and bright sparkling blue eyes made her look like a beautiful innocent angel. Her teeth were white as peals and she had a winning smile. She had the habit of tilting her head a little bit and then she stroked the strands of hair out of her cute face. Underneath her gown, she wore a black garter belt with a ruffled bottom, black stockings, a black corset, and ruffled knickers. Around her neck she wore a black neck collar. She wore a white summer hat adorned with a blue ribbon. Her hair was held in place with a silver comb. She wore a pair of white gloves and in her hand she had a parasol.
The fine plumage and vast, billowing crinoline, coupled with her pretty porcelain white complexion, attractive bosom, small hands and minute waist, guaranteed that without doubt, she truly was the proverbial ‘belle of the ball’. Her graceful poise and elegant chatter merely confirmed the vision of feminine perfection.
She walked in gracefully and with elegance. Immediately the attention of all men and women attending the party was fixed on her young beautiful body.
She is exquisite, absolutely adorable!” exclaimed Lady Hetherington.
“I know dear, quite the pretty picture Her dress, deportment, dancing and speech are all quite flawless. My, what a pleasant change from the majority of today’s young ladies, if ‘ladies’ be the correct term to use, most hardly deserve the title.” replied her companion, Madame Hampton.
“I quite agree with you there, dear. More like serving maids than girls of distinction. Quite a change from our day, which after all, was only thirty years or so ago.” Lady Hetherington said.
“I know, it’s disgraceful, the debasement of society. But she, well, she is a delight, everything that a young lady should be!” Lady Hetherington took out her spectacles and peered through them intently.
“She looks more like a doll than a real lady, I do declare! “How come we never met her before?” Lady Hetherington asked.
“She spent her youth in a girl’s residential college in Georgia.” Madame Hampton replied.
Emily walked in the garden and she was accompanied by her fiancé, the son of Monsieur Vercourt. Stephen Vercourt. Emily’s fiancé was a young lieutenant of 24 years in the confederal army. He was on leave. Madame Hampton watched how Emily kneeled down on a cushion on the grass. With her binoculars the she watched how Emily smiled politely to Stephen her fiancé. Emily tilted her head a little bit to the right. From underneath her hat, some strands of curly hair draped her young face.
“However did Stephen find her?” Lady Hetherington asked
“It was when he was in Georgia. He received an invitation to a ball organised by the Governor. At the ball he noticed her and he asked her to dance. The moment that he set his eyes on her, he was captivated. You know how men are. Anyway, a week later he proposed to her by letter and the girl’s father accepted. It seems that she too had been quite taken with him at the ball.” Madame Hampton replied.
“Delightful! A true life romance in this day and age.” Lady Hetherington said with some enthusiasm in her voice.
