The following post will probably have an impact on some friendships that I have with others. I will not be calling out any names, nor singling any one person or group of people out. But the ones it is directed to will know who they are. If after you have read it you find our friendship can no longer be, then I wish you well in all your endeavors. Now without further a due, it’s time the Devil let loose a little hell…

We as a group decided to share tales, both good and bad, about the happenings of the weekend in Charlotte. Now we could have chose not to do so, saying that what happened in Charlotte, stayed in Charlotte. Several of you have since voiced concerns to me both personally and indirectly about how certain situations were handled, even when you didn’t attend the function at all. Well it was handled like it was, and it can’t be undone. So let’s move on to the next one. I sat back and watched several very good people work like hell to make the event in Charlotte the overall success it was. What I didn’t see was the one’s who are doing most of the complaining even lift a finger to help out. Oh is there complaining you ask? Not out in the open, so I’ll just bring some stuff to light for everyone.

For the better part of last week & week-end, I have been questioned repeatedly about a certain incident, and how it was handled at the Litogether in Charlotte. I have had conversations with individuals that have stated, “If I had known there was marijuana there, I would have been in there smoking it too.” Or things like, “Well it was the designated party room, so what’s the big deal?” And my favorite to date, “Well there was a large gray area as to what was, and was not allowed in the party room.” You know what? The parties initially involved didn’t give me this much flak about it when I confronted them. And yes. I was the one who confronted one of the individuals. In fact, I seem to remember them thanking me for handling it the way I did. All this has come from individuals that it’s not even pertaining to. So I’m not going to hide behind PM’s. I’m bringing it out in the open, and laying it to rest once and for all. Here is what the big fucking deal is…

To answer the quote en quote GRAY area. Hey, if it’s illegal, why the hell would it be allowed? Litogether rules by no means override any state or federal law. I can see you right now in front of a Judge going, “But Your Honor, there was this big gray area. No one said specifically we couldn’t use drugs at this party.” Where do you think that excuse will get you? I think maybe a few very long months as a guest of North Carolina’s Dept. of Corrections. We as humans were born with a unique gift, a mind that has the ability to reason. Evidently there are some who don’t know how to utilize this gift. Well I say to those persons, use that gray matter (which is the only gray area I can conceive from all this) for something other than hair fertilizer. If it’s illegal don’t do it at these functions in an area where other’s can be held liable for YOUR actions.

Which brings me to point #2. Did you know that in the state of North Carolina (and the last time I checked, Charlotte, NC is in North Carolina) any person, or group of people that is in the immediate proximity of a person, or group of people committing an illegal act, is considered to be a participant of said act by the simple fact of association? Now I for one have much to loose if I am incarcerated on even the simplest of illegal activities (barring traffic violations). I have custody of my two children, an almost unheard of occurrence in the area I reside because I am a male. Something like that could have caused problems for me retaining custody of them. If I am going to held liable for anyone’s actions, It’s going to be my own, NOT YOUR’S. In all seriousness, if you do something illegal, and I end up being held liable by association, it will put me in a situation that will jeopardize me retaining custody of my children; I will have more than one reason to go to jail in the eyes of the law that day. I will let you see why my Chauk dubbed me “the Devil”. I will hurt you.

And there is something else I want to ad. This will be kind of a double dose to certain individuals. There were several that whined and bithced and complained about having some sort of security measure set up when this group decided to have the very first Litogether last fall in Asheville. Worried about what the police would do… blah… blah… blah. And yet now you are whining and bitching and complaining that there are security measures set up to help protect you, all because you feel maybe they are too strict? Well damned if you do and damned if you don’t eh? I thought that anyone who signed up as a member of Literotica had to accept terms stating they were adults. How about start acting like one.

I'd just like to add that my name was next to Head of Security...and it will be in September.

You have a problem with what happened...anything that happened...well, I haven't seen anything in my PM box about it.

Hell, I'd give ya a number to call to talk about it.

Nit-picking is too easy to do...and you couldn't please everyone if ya tried...so we certainly can't.

We had a hell of a time with some minor issues that were handled with security for all attending in mind and some finesse as well.

Guess what, ALOT of people are planning on attending in Sept...so it couldn't have been that bad...and if you thought it was...you will be missed in Sept...when everything will be bigger and better...except hopefully my belly....now ta-ta for now...

Also, in the state of nc, if you attend an organized party and are caught doing something illegal the organizers of said party are arrested right along with you, regardless of whether they were in the room or had knowledge of your illegal activity - the reason we raised the age of attending to 21, so we wouldn't have to watch the drinkers like a hawk and make sure the ones under 21 didn't have or drink any that were in the common rooms.

I am a single parent as well - only she doesn't have a second parent that would be interested in her if I were to lose her because I got busted for someone else's "fun". There are many single parents that made up our planning committee...there are also many who have high profile carreers who would possibly lose their jobs if arrested.

THAT is why it is such a big deal. It makes no never mind who was doing it or why. It makes no never mind who thinks it was handled correctly or not. What matters is that the person doing this was UNCONSENSUALLY involving a whole lot of others in their actions. When explained, they apparently understood and had no problem with this. Therefore, the matter should be dropped. If you were not there or didn't participate, why expend energy on it?

As we said from the onset, what you do in your room is your business. We're only concerned about what happens in the public areas.

I have no objections with what others decide to do in their own rooms among consenting adults. I do have a problem if I will be assossiated with things I haven't done.

The security issues for me was important when I initially spoke to Toni. I wanted to make sure all was on the up and up before I agreed to attend. Remember I was an out of state person and different laws apply. It wouldn't have been an easy task for me to get a lawyer and what not. Than the offense itself could have affected me in more ways than one.

Stupidity makes one wonders if they should go to all the trouble in meeting others. Let's not ruin a good thing by not using common sense.

i, for one, have to agree with what the devil said...i have custody of my son...and would have to do bodily damage to someone who screwed that up for me....and i wasnt around all the time during the litogether..so i dont always know what went on...i only know that during the time i was there...everyone was friendly, caring, supportive and kind...and lots of fun...i felt comfortable, and welcome....and i want to say a big thank you to security...all you guys made me feel perfectly safe and comfortable during the whole time i was there..and this was just after meeting you for the first time....i appreciate everything everyone did to get this all together and look forward to the next one...and hope i can help more with that one....and THANKS guys....you did a GREAT JOB...and i look forward to you doing it again in sept.... ....like DD said...we're all adults and know the rules and the law....lets follow them and just have fun enjoying each others company....

Everyone of us who attended the Litogether had something to loose. Some more than others and I for one am not willing to give up my life as I know it because of one person who dosent follow the Laws.
