A little update for my friends and co-writers: I continue to be missing in action, and I apologise. I had thought I would have more free time to myself - and maybe I will, eventually, but right now things are still kind of crazy.

Things I wish I was doing on a regular basis:

* writing posts, catching up on emails, updating my Facebook
* sleeping more than three hours at a stretch
* showering, fixing my hair, wearing something other than pyjamas
* eating three square meals a day
* sleeping - have I mentioned sleeping?

Things I am actually doing on a regular basis:

* nursing - constantly - and not in a Florence Nightingale kind of way
* being vomited on, peed on, and very occasionally, pooped on
* the opposite of sleeping
* becoming an expert at the lightening-quick diaper change, and not an expert at all on his random freak-outs
* crying (still a little hormonal and overwhelmed)
* being completely and utterly enchanted by the little smiles, funny little faces, and charming little sounds he makes - i.e. being wrapped around his tiny little finger

I miss you, and I wish I was able to write and play and have some fun, but it's just not in the cards, at the moment. This is truly my new full-time job. I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world, but it's been much more of an adjustment than I anticipated, and I apologise for promising that I would jump right back into the game - that was rather naive.

I'll check in when I can, and be back when I can. I appreciate your patience, but I will understand if you can't be patient.
