Cassie Banks

That's all one had to say to know who they were referring to.

Cassie Banks was the music world's newest, hotest item. In other words, she was the newest multi-million dollar for Icon records. They couldn't waste a moment of not being able to promote Cassie's latest album, which was why an entire video shoot was to take place today.

It was just around 5 a.m. and Cassie was in make-up. She was on her second Red Bull as she sat in the make up chair, both her make-up and her hair being worked on at the same time. There was chattering between the hair stylist and the clothing stylist about what would look good on Cassie.

Yet, no one had asked Cassie herself on what she wanted.

Outside, the director could be heard barking out orders on things that needed to be done and what needed to be in place.

If everyone could get their parts done right, then the shoot would be over by midnight...maybe...

Cassie knew she was ready. It didn't take much on her part, the only exursion would be her dancing, other than that, it was just lip syncing. She had to play the star part...easy right?

Sigh. There was a saying that you could only put off something unpleasant for so long, and while Garrett Tyle had been able to put off this particular duty during his entire time on the force, today he found himself with no other choice then to face the music. So, dressed in a 'fashionable' collared shirt and jeans, he walked into the set. "Hi, I'm the fire marshal for today's..." He frowned, not even remembering what it was he'd been assigned to do, but the person at the desk seemed to know who he was.

"Welcome. Right this way, Mister Tyle." Another long sigh escaped Garrett as he realized his boss must've went out of his way to grease the wheels for his arrival. He hated it. It was the same reason he'd tried to avoid this duty that most of his colleagues had been giving their arms and legs for. A trait he exploited to his advantage as he'd managed to beg off of it for years. It was way easier just babysitting some video production or photo shoot then staying on call or doing a normal shift, but he didn't like easy. Sure, it was ridiculously early in the morning, but that wasn't what bothered him.

He'd become a firefighter to save lives, and even if a lot of that work wasn't very glamorous - waiting for hours at a time until some disaster struck - that was the point for him. He'd been raised on hard work, and all of the trappings of the people he had to watch over reminded him of that which his parents had warned him about. Don't get involved in their false life, based on glitz, glamor, and everything being handed to you, served on a platter on the backs of others. No, Garrett would earn his own way in life, and not rely on anyone's good favor, or anyone's gratitude.

His thoughts passed in a haze as he got to the set, the people hustling and bustling around him, content to ignore him. Which he was fine with. He wasn't a bodyguard or anything, but as far as he was concerned he was now responsible for all of the lives in here. All of his buddies had talked about just lazing around on set, talking to the celebrities or the directors the entire time when they were supposed to be doing their job. He shook his head at all of it. His eyes scanned the periphery for any wiring or carelessly placed objects that could be a hazard.

And since he was so focused on his job, he would never admit to his eyes lingering on one particular person for just a moment. He recognized her from some publicity photos, or something like that...he couldn't be bothered to remember. And if anyone asked him, his eyes lingered on her because he was looking at the set behind her for any hazards.

"Coffee?" Someone offered him, and he shook his head.
