Starship Troopers.

Derek packed himself up, getting aboard. He settled down, making sure his weaponary was 100 percent ready. It was. He smiled.
Sydney (who hasn't posted forever, ahem ahem) sat down next to him, "Well, you ready?"
"As I will ever be. You took down the map of the bug, you know exectly where to go?"
She smiled, pointing at her head, "I got it all in here?"
"Your helmet, why is it there?"
She giggle, giving him a playful punch on the shoulder.
"Private, let's act a little more prepared for battle," Wollfe said.
Sydney said yes sir, and gave a salute. Derek chuckled.
"Whats so funny Private Sanders?" Wollfe asked.
"Sir, nothing sir."
Wollfe gave him an extra stern look, then moved on. Derek let out a deep sigh.
"You are in trouble," sydney teased.
Derek snickered at her, "So are you."
She smiled back.
"You two make a great couple." Vixen, from across the ship spoke up. Derek swallowed, Sydney broke out in giggles.
"Couple?" he swallowed again, "No, we aren't a couple."
She shrugged, "You should be, you two go together."
Sydney just snickered again. Derek shook his head, but didn't completely dismiss the idea.
A couple???

Vixen shook her head as she watched Derek and Sydney. Guess it was nice to be young and in love. She almost laughed. She was only a couple of years older herself, but she felt so much older.

Sgt Flores came forward and they all checked their weapons. Sgt Flores went over once more what Green team needed to do. "Okay Sanders, Malone... keep close... we're gonna go straight to the transport... we wanna know what the bug is carrying and to make sure it is neutralised. We'll be keeping close contact with the boat as well as timing the nukes with Corp Raynor understood?"
"Sir, yes Sir!" Vixen as always saluting precisely and sharply. She checked her suit and weapons again and sat ready... waiting.

She looked over at Blue team. Raynor was giving the same talk to Zelin and Louis... Ltn Wolff already gave his talk to his two Jacobson and Alex, and was seemingly calm. Vixen once again admired the officer hoping one day she'd be as cool and collected before battle as he. Unaware she was doing a good job herself. She seemed perfectly calm as she awaited the boat to dock with the transport bug.

Finally Lt Isangez spoke... "okay we have visual..."

WharOOOOO WharOOOOO

The alarm sounded. Pilots of all status made their way to the fighters docked in the port-side bay. One by one the hatches closed and the fighter cockpits filled. When the dicking bay was empty of movement, the red spinning lights stopped and the airlock doors opened.

24 fighters shot out of the vally forge and began opening fire on the transport. Massive launchers on the hull of the carrier shot round after round into the body of the bug. Counter measures, in the form of kamakazi baby transports and plasma bugs started pelleting the vally forge and it's fighters with natural firepower.

On the other side of the bug, where the space was calm, devoid and empty, on single small boat made it's way into the gill-like openings of the transport's belly. As it passed the sensitive folds of flesh, now distracted with the battle on the other side, a low-tone signal was sent once, indicating their success in enterance.

The fighters backed away and the weapons silenced. When every surviving fighter was successfully docked, the vally forge turned and ran, letting the transport do what it came to do...

Inside the small boat were even smaller creatures. The humans, made larger with their power suits, went over the plan of action. Red, blue and green teams were reastablished, reinformed and prepared. THe boat found a hard surface of bone and landed. Braces pushed against the firm structure, securing what will soon be known as mainstage. Before everyone was sent on their specific missions, a small proverb was to be heard from their leader;

"THe key to surviving an encounter is not to have one..."

Vixen looked around, she was INSIDE a bug... it was weird. Her mind quickly focused though and before long she didn't think twice about it, the bug had it's own internal labarynth, just like any ship but more obviously more organic looking. Vixen stayed close behind Sgt Flores and Derek. The three teams had finally split up for their individual missions. She checked her comm unit as she was meant to keep contact with Raynor. Vixen stayed in the rear as ordered by Sgt Flores who was counting on her sniper training to keep them covered. Vixen's gaze swept the area as the moved forward carefully.

Sgt Flores held up her hand indicating they should stop. Vixen looked up expectantly. They had only a basic knowledge of the outlay of a transport bug. They had to somehow move towards where they knew the transport was located. The air was damp around them and Vixen had to continually wipe her face visor to keep her vision clear. Suddenly she heard a high pitched buzzing sound. She looked up and saw a small bug like a large mosquito hovering. "Sgt!" She warned the officer. Sgt Flores saw the bug. "Kill it quietly!"

Vixen didn't need to be asked twice. She watched as the bug hovered lower and suddenly jabbed it visiously with the end of her gun. A 'squish' sound was heard and the bug lay twitching at her feet. "Good work Malone" the Sgt noted.
Derek looked impressed. She shrugged, quiet usally meant without laser fire in her book. They continued towards what looked like an internal carcass. Derek knocked on the plating... it sounded hollow.
"Right, now we've gotta get inside," the Sgt said.
Vixen looked at the wall of bug tissue. They separated following it around trying to find a way in. "I think I found something!" Vixen called out. The three of them looked at a almost camoflaged slit in the wall. Vixen pushed her weapon into it and pulled it open. It was dark in there.

"Sanders... you go in first... don't forget lights on..."
Derek nodded and slipped into the cavity. "It's all clear..." they heard him say. Vixen went next and stood next to him, their lights waving around the transport area trying to pick up shapes. Sgt Flores joined them. "Spread out... report back in 2 minutes with what you've found." Vixen went to the centre, Derek left, Sgt right.

OOC; Eddie flores is a guy. Just thought you should know.

IC; Wolff, jacobson and Alex made their way over pulsating veins, quivering flesh and solid bone through the eery caverns of the bug. They quickly discovered that they were in the ribcage, which was what Wolff had wanted. he had his visor down, and a map of the bug active. If this was the rib cage, then the third ventricle on the right would take them to one of the brain clusters.
The way was quiet, save for the increasingly loud beat of the creatures heart. The floor became squishy as bone ended and they becan climbing over a wing muscle. Transports had bee-like wings that they could deploy when inside an atmosphere. Now however, in the deep of space, they were retracted and secured with a thick layer of exoskeleton.

Jacobson and Alex had nervous looks on their faces. The calm, confident apearance of their leader reasured them however. Alex shook her head as a strange feeling entered her mind through her mental blocks, something inhuman.

Far across the galaxy, Private Carl Jenkins got inside of a brain bug's mind, killing it from the inside. Though Jenkins wasn't the most powerfull psychic, or the most known, his push was felt by every psychic universe wide, if only for a moment

Alex shook off the feeling, not knowing or even questioning what she felt, just like most psychics around the galexy. Focusung back on her mission, she followed Wolff through a thin blood ventricle, keeping a third eye out for bugs...

Rubs his forehead from the push and shakes his head clear as he watches the bug transport from the viewing level, his hand clenched so tightly on the railing his knuckles are white. SOmething about this mission felt.....wrong. Like something was...waiting for them.

~Alex, it's me, be careful I'm getting something from the ship that I really don't like.~

ooc:... sorry cyro... [ggls].. i was kinda confused... thanx...

ic:... Vixen hears the Sgt and Derek moving around. She hears something ahead of her. Odd... it seemed like... she looked closer...

His mind was going haywire now, he felt this once before. But how? Why here? why now? He ran downstair and looked in on the bugs they were still asleep but slamming their bodies onto the floor. He knew it, the Queen was there and someone else was with her, someone powerful enough to block his psychic powers and he closed his eyes...it was Him.

Derek had his gun in hand as he followed the Sgt. He would point to every hole, asking him to check it out. There was nothing, no one here, almost as if no one was here at all, it was empty.
No, there had to be something here, why would a transport bug be empty, unless of course it was a trap. Derek put these thoughts in the back on his head. He wasn't going to start yelling out weird theories, they court marshalled people for that. Dima just used his best judgement, and look where it got him. Derek followed the Sgt.
"Up ahead, whats that?"
Derek pointed his gun, but couldn't see anything.
"Go check it out Private."
Derek was hesitant for a second, then slowly made his way down the corridor. He could definately hear something, he just didn't know what it was.

Wolff, Alex, and jacobson made their way over the condocile bone to the last of the 3 brain clusters. So far the information gathered was confusing as well as disturbing. Wolff decided not to dwell over it though until this last part was examined.
"Were here sir!" said alex on the other side of a flap of flesh. Wolff pushed through, and looked up at a cluster of brain larger than 2 marauder suits. The blob hung in mid-air, held up by tendrils of goo and nerves. Alex apprached, placing her hands on the blob. Closing her eyes, she concentrated, bending her will to reading and probing the mind. After a few moments, she opened her eyes. "Just like the others sir, Nothing."
"Not even a mind block?" asked jacobson.
"No, it's as if this transport is braindead! there's no knowledge, memory, instructions or even basic things like making it's own heart beat. Simply nothing."
Wolff frowned and activated his com. "All teams report"
"This is blue team. The propultion gland of the transport is inactive, and appears to have been so for a long time. It's as if the transport moved through inertia only."
"Did you meat any resistance?"
"No sir. that's another odd thing. Besided the regularity of the heart beat, it was eerily silent. The radio bomb is setup however and we would like permision to rejoin the others"
"Granted. Procede back to mainstage. Green team, what's your status?"
"This is seargetn flores. We have secured the heart, detonators are in place. The only resistance we met was a child hopper. There were no warriors, flyers, tankers, or even worker bugs anywhere. Not even eggs or cuccoons."
"Understood seargent. Procede back to mainstage and await further orders. Mainstage?"
"Sir, this is mainstage."
"Did you two pick up anything? sounds, signals, hitchhikers?"
"No sir. The sonar picks up only us and the heart beat. What did our psychic discover?"
"Nothing."
"Nothing sir?"
"I'll explain it when we get back. Wolff out!" the LT turned to his companions. "We are heading back to the boat. Make it swift. Keep your mind open to resistance Alex, but concentrate everything else on speed. Something strange is going on here, and we got to figure out what."

~Alex it's Maniac listen He's on the bug ship as well as the queen. I'm not screwing around here your dad and the queen are both on that ship and your dad's not being held hostage...I think he's there of his own volition. trust me on this one....please~

OOC, nothing new, just reminding people that this thread exists.

Vixen stepped forward and suddenly noticed something. She cautiously inched forward, her weapon ready. Just then she heard a transmission coming through her comlink. She stopped to listen.

Quickly ran to the dropships, swearing softly thinking that would attract too much attention. Grins and grabs his gear on the run. At the same time called the bridge and explained the situation and what he planned to do. The Admiral nodded. He ran to the escape pods. Strapped into one and blasted out and headed for the bug transport, hoping he'd get there before His plan went into action.

Vixen only heard static... vaguely as if someone was trying to say someone's name... she tapped her comlink hoping to clear the static... but nothing. As she did this she didn't see what was coming up behind her. She gasped as she felt someone's arm come around her dragging her backwards. She was about to react when a harsh voice whispered. "Don't even think about it Private... I have a laser pointed at your head and it's armed to vapourise." She didn't recognise the voice but she recognised the tone. This guy meant business.

"Drop your weapon." She let go of her weapon obediently and it thudded on the living floor beneath them.
"What... who..." she started to ask. The arm tighted around her chest and she winced.
"No more talking got it?" She attempted to nod in the affirmative.
"How many more of there are you?" He asked.
There was no way in hell she was going to answer that.
The arm tightened again and Vixen realised she had to do something fast.

OOC; were in a zero oxygen atmosphere, and metal powersuits. If someone was able to squeese hard enough to block your air passage, their hands would have to be artificial, plus your helmet would crush, and your head would explode from the vaccume around you. Everything else goes though.

IC; Wolff and his team made it back to the boat. The way was eerilly quiet, as the steady heartbeat even seemed to slow down. The pilot was bloodilly killed, though Sidney couldn't explain why. She turned her back for a second to respond to the com, and it happened silently. Wolff gave it a minor thought, then focused back to the task at hand. He walked over to the com station.

"This is Lt. wolff. Blue team and green team, report...Blue team, Green team, Respond!" -nothing but static- "Someon answer! Bach!" Nothing but static came over the communicator station.

"Sir, we have another problem!"
"What is it davenport!"
"Sir, the transport is changing direction!"
"How is that possible?"
"Sir, I don't know sir! our spacial positioner indicates that we are on route to planet xion7, slowly, but slowly speeding up. Probably caught in it's gravity sir!"
"Shit, that's the new bug relay station. Raynor, Malone, Flores, Someone speak to me!" -nothing- "That's it. Alex, Johnson, grab your weapons. were going on recon. Davenport, as soon as were out of range, engage weapons to attack everything moving, including us! I don't want anything attacking the boat. As soon as that's done, grab a rifle, a shock stick, and find a secure corner near the communicators."
"Sir, yes sir!"
"We'll contact you in 1 hour. If you don;t hear from us, Leave!"

ooc:... sorry... been a while since i've posted here... forgot... please note the correction... [smiles]

Vixen felt a fist make contact with her side winding her. She groaned sinking to her knees. She fought the pain as she tried to think what to do. Her weapon lay temptingly within reach before her. As if reading her mind his foot kicked the weapon further out of reach.

She controlled her breathing to fight the slowly subsiding pain in her side. The man seemed to be receiving an incoming message. "Understood."
"Well sweetheart... looks like you're unlucky day... aparantly we don't take prisoners on this mission."
He aimed the weapon at her forehead point blank range. Vixen took this opportunity to punch him in the balls. She had to punch hard... he groaned and fired at the same time the beam ripped her suit across her left shoulder. She heard the angry hiss of her oxygen leaking. "Shit!" She cursed. The man was taking aim again. She rolled and picked up her weapon and returned the favour, she didn't miss. She watched the body fall into a harmless heap. She put her hand over the rip in the suit in an attempt to hold it closed and quickly made her way back towards where the team had split up.

Behind her she heard another weapon being charged up to fire. She turned slowly to see another figure standing over the one she had just downed. Damn it, how many of them were there?

Landed on the bug ship and entered through the membrane. 'Lock and Load time' cracks his neck with a crunch and then moves through the hallways. Came around a hallway and watched as Vixen elbowed a figure down, charged his weapon up and aimed down at the figure. It was Him 'Well well' Alex's father flipped up and slammed a boot into his helmet sending him stumbling. 'Vixen Get outta, get everyone else out too.' Shakes his head. 'Ok Doc you wanna fight, let's fight' Charged into Alex's father sending him into a wall. Draws his knife from his suit. 'Slice and dice time Doc' Both men leaped into one another at the same time sending them both spinning in the air. 'VIXEN GO!!!'

OOC

Sorry been gone so long, had some probs at home...best friend commited suicide so had to just get away from everything and go back to my home and go into the woods where my buddy and I built a house for us only to use and stay there for a few weeks to be at peace

Lucinda Malone (aka Vixen)

ic:... Vixen was stunned. Where had he come from. He heard him shout out again... "Vixen get outta here!" She shook her head clear and watched as he confronted her would be attacker. Who the hell was that guy?

She stumbled to her feet, still gripping her torn suit. Her weapon was only a couple of feet away. She scurried over to it and picked it up even as she could hear the sound of metal clashing behind her. She turned to see Maniac struggling with the attacker.

She frowned, her gaze narrowing. There was something familiar about that guy. She blinked as it slowly dawned on her that the others would be nearby. She had to warn them. She checked her com-link. She tapped it impatiently. It flickered momentarily before going dead. "Shit!" She cursed vehmenently.

OOC:... Hey Maniac... damn man... that's rough... [warm cyber cuddle]... I have no words that could possibly help you... but guy... as a friend... I'm here for you okay?

Wolff leaped over bones and tendons, heading towared a guessed location of his troops. His com was useless, so he abandoned using it. Bigs, warrior, hopper, plasma, controll, and fire flies appeared out of nowhere, but just as abruptly dissapeared unter the steady fire from wolff's maranda rifle. Had the bugs been real they would have died under his expert aim, even hindered by his speed. However, they were onlt illusions.
He emerged in a small artery near the heart, where Vixen, maniack, and a couple strange troopers (some dead) struggled. "What in the nine hells?" all looked at him simultaniously. "Whatever, Private malone, Private maniack, the rest of you. This bug's going down. Follow me and move it!" without waiting for a reply, he turned and almost flew into the distance, restraining his speed to the maximum scout power suit (that non officers, even you maniack) are capable of.

OOC; I think that Okrah said it best. "I feel the hurt". My experience is too traumatic to even remember let alone write down, so just know you have my simpathy, empathy, and compassion.
