Vera laughed as he threw her on the bed, but it was soon cut off as his lips and teeth latched onto her. She reached down, tangling her fingers in his hair, hips writhing as he teased her.

He kissed her back with passion and fever his hands finding the rest of her clothing and ripping them off. He slid their naked bodies together kissing and touching every inch of her before he flipped her over fast.

He kissed down her back biting her ass before kicking her legs apart. He lifted her ass up and ran his hand down her back finding the back of her neck and holding her down as his cock slipped against her clit and his head popped Intl her pussy.

Vera gasped as Jase's teeth nipped at her rump, her hips bucking in pleasure. His hand went to her neck keeping her down as he traced his cock along her clit before his tip pushed into her.

"Oh fuck!" Vera moaned, her back arching as she ached for him. "Fuck me Jase," she wanted, desperate for a repeat of the passion they had shared earlier. She loved that he was taking control, that he had been the man that refuses to look while she was in the shower, but was now holding her down as he pushed his cock into her. She particularly enjoyed the fact that he was probably one of the only humans in this galaxy that had enough strength to restrain her. She had a feeling hat she couldn't have escaped him even if she wanted to. She struggled for a moment, testing that boundary and trying to shake him off

Jase growled letting her test her boundaries for a second before he tightened his grip on her neck. He pushed down onto the bed at the same ytime driving his hips forward filling her hard and rough and sinking into her warm pussy in seconds.

"Fuck" he mokaned reaching down slapping her ass before he thrusted in roughly "fuck fuck fuck" he repeated as if it was a mantra as his pace increased. He held her down putting her weight on her to prevent her from moving as he thrusted in hard and rough and fast.

For a moment Vera thought she would be able to shake him, but then he pushed her down, his hand hard on her neck, her breath knocked from her as he filled her tp the brim. His thrusts were hard enough to drive her into the bed, her body crushed with his power.

"Yes Jase!" She cried, encouraging him. She struggled to pish her hand down between her body and the bed, fingers desperate to touch her aching clit as he fucked her harder than anyone ever had before

He grunted lifting giving her the small pleasure of being sable to touch and caress her clit before pressing her back onto the bed. He began to fuck her to week and truly fuck her using every ounce of his power and weight. He kept her down on the bed even as he leaned back admiring her body as he slid in and out of her in slow powerful strokes.

Jase's forcefulness was a heady aphrodisiac. When ge pushed her back down she was stuck, trapped, completely at his mercy. Never before had she been so vulnerable, never knew how much she would love it. She managed to move her fingers still, flicking her clit, her orgasm intensifying and exploding as Jase pummeled into her.

Jase groaned feeling her orgasm exploide around him. He tjhrusted harder and faster her own orgasm peeking and enticing his own orgasm. His cock swelled and he growled his hips bluringf knot motion as he rode ouit his own orgasm.

"Oh fuck oh fuck" he howled thrusting in and out the bed creaking and groaning as he came and came hard his cum flowing into her thick and hard.

Jase's cries mixed with Vera's as they came as one. His thrusts were so fierce that she felt as though she was splitting in two. There was a mix of pleasure and pain there as her orgasm ebbed and the end of his was all she could feel. His cock was pulsing inside her, filling her, testing the limits of her body.

Vera's body collapsed in a trembling heap, every part of her exhausted as she panted into his bed covers.

"I can't move," she breathed, her inner muscles still twitching against his cock, sending shockwaves through her shaking body. Never before in her life had she been so utterly satisfied.

Avery Watersmith

Aboard the PEACe Mothership

Avery watched the screen in front of her, her heart in her throat and tears welling in her eyes. Through the security cameras, she saw Captain Feald approach Bomber. Bomber, who was fixing on of the external sensors on their ship, put down his tools and looked up. In that moment, that brief second of eye contact between he and his captain, he knew what was happening. Avery saw it in the way his shoulders fell and his face set, as though all of the breath had been knocked out of him. Feald held out a broken identification band, the hinged end hanging uselessly from his fingers.

"It was found on Merian's ship," Feald said. "The Blood Pack we captured admitted that they had killed Claus and Oren. We found this on one of them. They denied all knowledge of her, but we think they have abducted Avery. I'm sorry Bomber."

Feald reached out and took Bomber's shaking hand, placing the broken bracelet in it before letting it go with a sorrow-filled salute. The captain turned and left. Bomber looked at the bracelet in his hand, he clenched his fist around in and closed his eyes, teeth gritted. With a painful yell of rage he turned, slamming his fist into the side of the ship and pressing his head against the metal. Avery's breath hitched, and she reached out, fingers falling through the holographic screen.

~*~

Everything was a blur to Avery. She wanted so desperately to drop this charade, this now unwanted burden of being Vera. Her heart ached for Bomber and she debated whether she should go to him. Reveal the truth. Both of their hearts were breaking, desperate for the other, the only one who could heal them. But she couldn't. Her days were filled with Council meetings, the ravenous bastards demanding everything from her, everything from Vera. They were never happy, they bartered and schemed, they lived their lives and stated their demands, not even noticing the pain she was feeling. Avery was walking from a meeting now, not even bothering to acknowledge the people in the corridors who stopped to greet her.

"Chancellor! Chancellor, wait!" Avery stopped, shocked from her daze by the sound. She stopped, turning to see Thomas running towards her. "We need to talk," he said, the expression on his face dire. "Not here though, somewhere safe. Can you meet me in your study in ten minutes." Avery nodded, concern tipping her eyebrows into a frown. Even though Bomber was on her mind, she was pulled from focusing on him as Tomas' urgency caused a new sense of dread in her.

~*~

"How the fuck did this happen?" Avery looked down at the data pack that Tomas had handed her, her heart beating in her throat, thumping with outrage and confusion. "There are no volatile gasses beneath that mine! Vera made sure of it!"

The headline of the news article said it all "Workers killed in freak mining accident.". According to the article, there had been a catastrophic explosion in the Magaroth mines that had led to the destruction of the entirety of the south site. It was during the middle of the work day, hundreds of miners had been down in the cells and working above the site in their processing plant and offices. The explosion was attributed to the accidental mining of some very volatile gasses. Thankfully, according to the articles, the PEACe officers had decided to go back to the base to have a celebratory lunch for one of their colleagues. Now, due to the tragic nature of the accident, they were resigning their posts citing their grief and outrage at the loss of lives. PEACe, being the caring organisation it was, had offered to fully fund their retirement or to reassign them to better postings, while gifting the families of the deceased with a free service for their lost loved ones.

"I overheard Councilman Zotto talking to General Starborn," Tomas said, looking around furtively even though they were completely alone and secure, "He said the council had made the right decision. He said it was the perfect cover up."

"No!" Avery cried "I didn't approve this! That was not the judgement I gave to the council!"

Tomas looked at her, eyes sharp as though searching her soul for the truth.

"Vera will be devastated."

"Vera?" Avery laughed "Speaking of the devil- where the fuck is she?" Aver turned, slamming her fist against her desk.

"If she was captured by the Blood Pack..." Tomas trailed off, not willing to finish that sentence.

"I can't do this anymore! We have to stop. " Avery turned, running her fingers through her hair and struggling to fight back tears. Tomas came over, steps slow, approaching her as one might a wounded animal. He reached out, pulling her into a comforting hug.

"We don't have a choice!" Tomas sighed. He wasn't normally one for emotions or physical reassurance, but Avery desperately needed it. She was glad for his thoughtfulness. "You've seen what the council can do. There are some people on there... some that would see the universe burn just to keep their positions. We need Vera now more than ever.... We need you now more than ever."

It was true. Avery knew it. If her deception was discovered and Vera's absence noticed, the council would descend into chaos- those people controlled by years of Vera's careful plotting would turn on each other, finally able to fight for their own cause above all others. Avery gritted her teeth. Fuck, she thought, Vera where are you?

"That's okay" jase laughed shaking his head pulling out of her and groaning as his cock left her heated core "I just want to crash with you any ways"

He crashed down onto the bed next to her his chest rising and falling slowly. He reached out running his hand over her nakdex before before grabbing her hip and pulling her close.

"God I never met a girl like you" he said burying his nose in her wet hair and breathing her in

"We need to get some sleep" he mur hired his eyes dropping "before we freeze our ass off"

Vera was especially pleased at Jase's words. She was wondering whether she should offer to return to her own bed, but as he pulled her close she was happy it wasn't necessary. Her womanhood throbbed, his juices slowly oozing out and coating her inner thighs. They were warm and sticky as she snuggled into him. She tried to think back to a time in her life that had been this simple, this good. She couldn't think of one. For a moment she felt bad for leaving Avery in her clusterfuck of a life, but that regret soon passed. It had been almost a decade since she had slept next to the warmth and comfort, and she soon found that she slipped off into a long and dreamless sleep.

~*~

Vera woke with a start. She looked around and it was still dark in the room. She could hear Jase's steady breathing beside her and she relaxed, wondering what time it was.

"Sam, how far out are we?" She thought.

"Two hours now."

Shit! Vera slid from Jase's side, surprised that they had slept so long. Though she should have expected that - they had lost sleep within the previous fourty eight hours, and when they were awake they had expended extreme amounts of energy. Vera slipped from the room and made her way to her own. She grabbed some clothes, underwear and toiletries before hitting the shower. She made sure to use some of her signature scented body wash, missing the familiar and calming smell of it. When she got out she braided her hair and wound it into a flat bun at the back of her head before getting dressed.

"Does Jase have stuff to cook for breakfast?" Vera asked Samantha.

"He bought some more supplies yesterday, there is a fair bit of variety. His favourite is the meat in the red container."

"And how does one cook this meat?" Vera said, reaching into the preservation unit and retrieving it. She heard Samantha's laughter in her head.

"You fry it. In the frying pan. Wait until he wakes up and toast some bread for him too," Samantha supplied, clearly amused. Vera wanted to tell her to stuff off but knew it would be counter productive. Vera looked into the container and her nose curled up in distaste, the meat was raw and had an unappealing smell.

"It smells better once it is cooked. Apparently." Samantha informed her. Vera shrugged and set about searching through the kitchen for the afore mentioned frying pan.

"What do they teach you Imperials?" Samantha asked "I mean, besides how to torture and enslave people." Her tone turned from joking to accusing.

"Oh, you know, the usual. How to survive without relying on AI's... How to reprogram the ones that piss you off." Vera snapped back mentally.

Samantha didn't bother replying.

A while later Vera was quite proud with her effort. The food was almost done and she hadn't burned the kitchen down.

"Morning Jase!" Samantha's voice was aloud this time, Vera turned to see Jase in the room, standing beside Samantha who had decided to make herself visible. "Have you read the latest news? I find something you both might be interested in."

With a flick of her hand (which Vera assumed was purely for show), Samantha threw up a holographic screen between them. The smile on her face was one of pure mischief and triumph. On the screen there was an article, the headline reading "Workers killed in freak mining accident."

Vera's breath caught in her throat. She stepped closer, her eyes widening in horror as she read the article for herself.

She didn't know what to do. Her entire body tensed, her teeth gritted together so hard it hurt. She felt dizzy and her anger reached boiling point in her veins. All those people in the mines- the poor souls tortured by PEACe agents in the Magaroth mines...

"FUCK!" The word burst from Vera's throat, wild and livid. She slammed the plate she was holding down on the table, barely able to control her rage.

Jase slept calmly and peacefully for once getting true sleep a respite from the nightmares that usually plagued him. When he finally awoke it was feeling refreshed and better than he had in a very long time. He felt so good that he wanted to savor the moment and her. He reached out fingers splayed searching for her, instead his hand hit the slightly cool pillow and he frowned as he opened his bleary eyes.

She was gone probably having been up for a while. He sighed and got up rubbing his bleary eyes. He got out of the bed stretching and rolling his muscles before padding to the bedroom naked. He took care of himself before sliding on a pair of loose fitting plants and leaving his room.

The smell hit him causing him to groan and his belly to rumble. He all but ran into the mess hall eager to eat and see if she was cooking what he thought she was cooking about.

He moved into the room pausing when Samantha called him over. He watched as she smugly displayed the news of the mining incident. Jase anger bubbled inside of him and he was so caught up in it that when she banged the plate he jumped. He turned noting her expression of pure anger and turning back to Samantha giving her a pointed glare.

"You did that just to bother her" Jase growled shaking his head "Im disappointed in you Samantha using a horrible accident to dig at some one"

"But Jase I-"

"I think you should go ahead and make sure our descent is going to go well" Jase said frowning at her. He moved away not even bothering to watch as she growled and dissapeared. He took her plates and moved her over to the bench letting her sit down as he got their plates assembled.

He sat down handing her the plate "best not to talk about it when were about to go to a dangerous and hostile planet" He told her softly begining to eat.

"planet fall in one hour" Samantha said her voice neutral over the intercom.

Vera was too distracted to hear what happened between Samantha and Jase, but she caught the tone. When Jase handed her the plate she blinked down at it for a few moments. Her stomach, previously rumbling with hunger, was now roiling in grief and anger.

"Sorry," she said pushing it back towards him and walking out of the room, though she want sure if she was apologising to Jase or the galaxy.

She didn't know where she was going until she stood in the library, surrounded by the smell and sight of the beautiful old books with stories that were somehow less complicated than her life. Her breath heaved and she allowed herself to struggle with her angst for five minutes more, sinking into the inner turmoil before she tried to gather herself. She pocked a novel off the shelf at random, opening it up and using it to whisk her away into a world of fantasy and calm her troubled soul.

Fifteen minutes later Vera donned the armour that Jase had made her and tracked him down, managing to put on her focused mask, significantly more calm than before. If anything she was more driven to be done with the mission so she could see the council brought to justice.

"Let's do this thing!" She announced. She could be angry later. For now, she had an artefact to find.

Jase turned shooting her a soft smile. He wanted to say so much more to her ands her reaction to what was happening in the council but he wisely choose to keep his mouth shut.

It was neither the time nor the place

"Samantha?" Jase called looking up

"Were making planet fall in ten minutes were moving into orbit now"

"Come on" he said grabbing her hands and pulling her tp the bridge.

They entered just as they entered the upper atmosphere. Jase nodded at the co pilots seatr and slid into the pilot seat.

"Control please Samantha" jase said as the control centers powered on. Made took control firing up the thrusters and guiding there descent into the planer. They broke through a thin sheet of ice and the engines strained.

"Base I estimate a three hour window on this planer before the falcon ices over" Samantha said her voice calm.

"Then I'm not even going to set her down" jase growled as they broke into the atmosphere "well burn through fuel but we won't be here long enough to break the bank"

Vera took the seat beside Jase as she listened to the situation and the limitations of their mission. She looked at the window before them, the view of the sludgy sea they were sinking into. She frowned as she looked at the map, this planet was far too large to search in an hour.

"It's like finding one grain of sand in a dust storm," Vera grumbled, looking at their view with frustration.

The translation on the orb said it would be here, but it never said where. She was about to ask Samantha for a read on any anomolies or inconsistencies on the planet that might indicate another temple but she stopped herself. The orb!

Vera jumped up, turning and fleeing down the bridge steps.

"I'll be back in a moment," She called out to Jase and Samantha as she dashed to her room. Sure enough, there was a faint glow emanating from the draw she kept the orb in. She opened it, and sure enough the orb was lit up, glowing from inside, strange whorling patterns on the surface of it. Vera snatched it up and returned to the bridge, holding the orb up for Jase and Sam to see.

"Looks like we have ourself a guide," She announced, setting the orb down on the console. Samantha projected a holographic map of the planet around the orb and managed to line up the whorls and flecks on is. There was one fleck that glowed slightly brigther to the others.

"Sam, can you take us there?" Vera asked, pointing at the globe.

"Affirmative." Samantha righted the course of the ship and booted it. In a few moments the fleck grew brighter and brighter, throbbing as though the other part of the orb wanted to be found.

"From my scans it looks as though there is a large ice rock in that section," Samantha supplied, "It is emanating too much cold energy for me to get the ship close. Your suits were built for the temperatures though. I can provide a line and you guys can head down?"

"A line?" Vera asked, eyebrows furrowing. Samantha opened a holoscreen infront of them and showed a person sliding down a thin wire, the ends of which were fixed to two different solid looking surfaces. "Has to beat being shot out of a cannon." Vera grumbled, looking a the screen and getting to her feet.

"What weapons do we have that will work in this atmosphere?" Vera asked. The ship shuddered as it travelled through a pocket of gas and then back into the liquid sludge.

"Blasters and blades."

Vera grimaced, that would have to do.

"Might also be worthwhile taking the laser drill just in case the artefact is in the ice rock rather than on it." Samantha added.

"Great, let's move."

"Samantha give us a countdown for three hours" jase said his tone all business "you monitor the ship cloosely she wasn't built for this kind of temperature and I don't want to take any chances if you sense any signs of distress take her up even if it means us having to set up some kind of camp"

"Roger"

Jase led vera down to the loading ramp and grabbed the cold weather gear they purchased. He handed her the thermal lining and coat and then slid on his own.

"Seal up" he said hitting his emblem sealing his environmental armor up he waited until she did before he opened the bay door. Sheets of ice and wind rushed through along with the sound of decompression.

He turned making the OK sign with his fingers before turning on their mics

"Grab the gear and we will zip line it down first" jase said grabbing the laser drill

Vera did as Jase suggested and sealed her suit before grabbing the gear and attaching it to the line. They sent it hurtling down and Vera peered over the edge of the bay doors, pleased that their Ice Rock had formed inside one of the less volatile gas pockets.

"Alright, time to get cold." She signed, using the mag in her gloves to secure herself before hopping on the line.

Vera could hear the cold air zipping past her helmet, she could see the ethereal blues and greens of the planet warping around her as she slid down, futher and futher at alarming speeds. It was exhilarating, and terrifying, but after their two space walks it was nothing. She saw the ice rock approaching, large and somewhat translucent, and she clamped her gloved hands down on the line, providing enough friction to slow her down. She hit the surface of the rock with a jolt still and swore, shaking out her jarred muscles.

"You're up." Vera said. She unbuckled the gear and armed herself, then took a look around.

The planet, while hostile beyond reason and eerie in colour, was quite beautiful. Outside their gas pocket she could see rivers of liquid floating by, the deeper blue and thicker sludge oozing through, casting an array of dizzying lights and shadows to their location. If she wasn't wrapped in layers of thermal gear and a sealed suit to keep her alive, she could almost find this place to be relaxing.

Though as pretty as the lights from above were, there was also a light from below her feet.

"Jase!" Vera called out, excitement welling up within her. "Look, there! That must he the other part of the orb!" Down below, encased in the ice beneath their feet, was a glowing orb. This one was a magnificent blue, and it pulsed with the same sort of inner light that the first green orb had. Vera looked around, trying to determine if they would be able to drill it out.

Jase followed sliding to a stop next to her and unlatching the laser drill from his back. He looked around more intent on finding any hostiles then looking at the orb. He doubled checked their backs before he finally sighed and walked over to where the orb lay.

"Well at least it looks pretty close to the surface" jase said sighing and looking at it "we only got three hours so we need to get to work" he murmured setting the laser drill up and angling it at the orb.

"Samantha won't be able to help us do the calculations" jase warned fiddling with the settings so let's take it slow at first and see where that gets us"

He set the drill for a slow scan and in seconds it began cutting through the sheets of ice. Jase watched it making calculations in his head as he tried to estimate where the orb was and how deep.

Waiting for the drill to reach the orb was odd. The world was so silent around them yet Vera didn't want to speak. There was nothing to say about their mission and she couldn't afford to get distracted by other stray thoughts that may pop into her head if she lost focus. So she waited. She paced, she watched Jase's back as he drilled, she looked down to see the progress.

Finally l, an uneventful hour and a half later the drill stopped and vera peered into the hole they had created. It was probably as deep as she was tall. She looked over at the gear Jase has packed and was pleased to ses he had thought to bring an extendable reach item. She pocked it up, and holding one end lowered the claw into the hole. A moment later she pulled ip the arm and took the glow in orb from it. It was hollow by the look of it, and it also appeared terribly fragile despite the impressive weight of it. Even though it could have been anything, part of her knew it was exactly what they had been searching for.

"Looks like we're good to go." Vera said with a wry smile, tucking the new orb into a magnetic mesh vag at her hip.

"Thank the maker" he said breathing ouit a sigh of relief when she pulled out the orb and tucked it away "now let's-"

He felt it

There was a tremble as if the ice below his feet had shivered. He paused his entire body going rigid as he glanced at vera not sure what it was. If the ice was breaking up they just needed to get to the lines then they would-

Then he saw it

It was rushing towards them a black mass that was triple in size. His eyes widened in panic and he grabbed her and threw her towards the line.

"Samantha reel her up" jase shouted leaping towards the line just as the ice cracked splintering into a million pieces. A giant creature broke through his frozen body trailing as he struggled to force his way to them. Jase didn't bother shooting the thing instead he reached for the line letting it zip him up as the creatures head came down and missed him by seconds.

It all happened so quickly. There was a shaking and a groan. Vera saw a horrified look on Jase's face and she whipped around in time to see a writhing black mass surging towards them. It was all claws and spine, its giant toothy naw opened, ready to swallow them whole. Before she had a change to react, Jase had thrown her towards the zip line, her suit magnetising it as Samantha reeled her up just as Jase commanded.

"JASE!!!" Vera cried as she whizzed away from him. She saw the ice beneath his feet begin to heave and the creature lurching towards him. She whipped out her blaster and fired off round a of plasma into the creature but it barely noticed. She was sucked back aboard the ship as the monster reached Jase, her heart stopping for a moment before he was on the zip line.

"Hurry Samantha!!" Vera cried. The monster tool a moment to realise that jmKase was gone and it turned , large black eyes focusing on the ship. Vera reached out, pulling Jase into the shit and slamming her hand on the lock button. The doors slammed shit the moment he was in.

"Go! Go! Go!" Vera urged, her last view was of the monster hurtling toward the ship. It was easily bigger than the huge space craft, with teeth that would tear it to hell. There was a lurch and a splutter and then the ship sped away , knocking both Vera and Jase to their backsides.

The beast managed to "nudge" the shipo sending it careening into orbit as they finally got away. Jase groaned lifting him self out of the mess of munitions and supplies he was covered in and popping the seal on his armor.

"Frak!" Jase growled turning glaring vera "that's it I'm shooting that orb off into deep space the second we get back to council space!" He hollored pulling the chest piece off his armor before stomping away angrily.

"I domt think your going to be on board much longer princess" Samantha said appearing on the deck and looking smug "I've never seen jase THAT mad before"

As soon as they were out in space Vera breathes a sigh of relief, but ir was short lived. She watches a Jase stomped off in rage. She could understand why. She ignored Sam's snarky comment and walked out of the bay. She stopped in her room, shedding her armour and tucking the new orb away safely before looking for Jase. When she found him she leaned against a wall near by.

"I'm sorry all of this shit has made your life so much more complicated," she said, tone genuine.

"You weren't the one who brought this shit into my life" base growled shaking his head "I'm not asking for your apology I just am frustrsted" he said sighing and looking her up and down.

" if I want to walk you'll leave with the orb won't you? " he asked looking at her locking eyes with her as he raised one eyebrow and waited for her answer.
