Yes, you can get STD's from oral sex. Even brief oral sex.

If you want to prevent passing an STD and still go down on your girlfriend, you can use dental dams.

Yup a good friend of mine contracted HPV from oral sex, he didnt even cum in her mouth

Instead of playing 40 questions on an internet forum, it would make more sense to me to go to a clinic and get tested.

It sounds like this person is very young. Give him a break!

If anyone gets tested for an STD, that doesn't mean they're clean. It could be waiting to come out the next month. And who's to say that this person could cheat on the other later on? It's simple. Either you risk it or use protection.

Give him a break? And let him ask around on the internet instead, possibly getting misinformation and worrying (or not worrying when he should be)? Are you serious? Or are you simply fucked up in the head?

Yeah that's it....I think I have cancer. I guess I'll ask around for opinions on message boards and make my decisions based on that accurate information. Works for me! Doctor....who needs a doctor??

The kid is nervous and probably doesnt have access to a physician right at the moment.

So far i have not seen him get any wrong info

Yeah, so he's nervous as hell because he might have contracted an STD. And everyone's post confirmed that yes, it's possible he may have contracted an STD. How does that make him feel any better? How does that help him? Has anyone of you suggested that he might want to consult a physician? So what if he is young. Maybe scared to tell his parents. An STD is not going away on its own by ignoring it or otherwise. But the boy still needs to see a doctor! One way or another. That was my point.

Why would you come to the How To Board to be insulting to other people as innocent as himself or anyone for that matter? Does it boost your esteem or something? Insulting people on the How To Board usually gets one thrown off, so be wise.

And why would he need to be seen by a doctor? He didn't say anything about penis puss or scratching his nuts, did he? He simply asked "Could I get...?"

Good luck on the How To Board!

Yeah, you're right...send him to a bicycle mechanic instead!

One more thing, Miss KarenDee: Doctors do advise their patients to read all they can about what they've been diagnosed with, and these days, they'll tell you to read from the internet. It's usually WebMD. It's not a site I'm crazy about so I go to many different ones to see if they match up. I never stick to one. This is my personal experience with doctors because I've been disabled since I was 13, and recently had 1 child misdiagnosed with cancer. Yes, doctors aren't always right either.

The web can be a great source of information. If many people agree on one thing (yes, brandon, you can get an std this way and if you're worried, see a doctor) then he tell that it's likely accurate information. Plus, it's free and I doubt his doctor is setting up appointments at the moment (PST).

If your girlfriend is telling you the truth about her past sex life it's highly unlikely she has an STD in the first place. And I believe unprotected oral sex is safer than unprotected vaginal or anal sex.

Still, one can have a fatal car wreck in a parking lot, and I believe everyone is suggesting you wear a seat belt. :)
