Story Problem

Trying this again, but with a slightly different style, maybe this one will unlock brain cells.

Ok so i got a story idea, but I need a little help with stuff to do in said story. So far I have, slave girl with no memory of who she is is on a ship bound for somewhere. Engages in sex aboard said ship, ship ends up in a storm and sinks. She wakes up on a shore, no idea where she is who she is or where to find a town/port/anything.

She spots a path and follows said path, though I have no idea what happens to her on said path eventually she reaches a town. There are a couple members of the town guard guarding a gate. Conversation ensues, and she ends up being taken for their pleasure, during a town person spots the going ons and announces that she is the new harlot for the bordello.

Next week the town is placed under blockade by the admiral, no ships can enter or leave without his approval, problem lays in he won't let anyone leave. I'm not sure what to do in said bordello, besides a few things that I'm not gonna talk about. I gotta surprise ya'll at some point in there.

So just to make sure you understand, I need thougts on what she does to get to town in the first place, and the stuff that happens in the bordello. Violent is good, I want to have some of that in there, think a horny female conan.

Well, I can't give you ideas of what happens in the bordello, but maybe while she's walking the path, she sees a man hunting and follows him back to the village?

I think Lucy Lawless is gorgeous, I just couldn't stand the show. Same problem with Hercules, the writers should be shot for stupidity.

I know what happens in a regular bordello, this one isn't regular, I want ideas on what to do to make the reader understand how badly the town is suffering because of the guy in charge and his guards.

In that case, you need to merely read any news stories about the Detroit City Council and its ever so (NOT) popular Mayor!

Makes me happier to be in Phoenix, we get rid of those mayor's before it gets that bad.

Though honestly not as bad as I had in mind. No ships can come to port or leave so no trade, no fish, no influx of money. Far as I know no mayor has ever screwed their town over that bad.

(seriously, I often unravel plot holes or shatter writers blocks best by reacting to dumb ideas "that's the stupidest idea I ever heard, any dummy knows that it works better like this....")

Every story needs a good villian, try starting from there.

Maybe its a military port on an isolated island in the middle of the war and the girls are kept as slaves to keep the saliors stationed there entertained. Instead of shipwreaked maybe her ship is attacked by a ship from this port where she is brought. After being clubbed on the head she wakes up there finding it hard to remember her life before. There she meets the villian who likes to break in the new girls personally, finding her to be a bit more of a challange.

No guns, just swords, knives, bows and crossbows. Going to sorta merge together a few ages, so you get full plate type armored people with people who wear the armor skirts, so on so forth. It's all just a handy carriage for the focus of the story, having sex. Well no that's not what I'm focusing on, though I suppose a good description would be a romance novel for guys, lots of erotic scenery, fighting and sex.

I got that...thus 'arms merchants' rather than 'gun runners'... cause I bet even then criminal smuggling worked through a legit front... or a semi legit bordello?

Well no cause nothing was illegal.

I mean people now like to talk about how little someone could do back then because they were basically slaves to whoever was watching over the section of land they lived in. In reality a serf could pull up roots and move to anywhere they could manage to have room. If you were a blacksmith or just had the money to buy you could have 20 swords, not that most blacksmiths actually made swords.

There was no black market, there was a basis for one in the simple fact that people would go to amazing lengths to get something to bring to someplace else to sell, but nothing was illegal. In most cases references to a black market is in relation to someone buying or selling something that the original owners of such did not want to lose.

OK so now, what i want are things to do or learn about in the bordello to let the reader know how bad things are getting and how bad the guards and the dictator are.

Odd. I always thought that a black market was where items in very short supply (or maybe rationed, as in war time) could be bought at vastly inflated prices. The most common example in modern Western countries is the ticket touts who sell tickets to popular shows, concerts, sporting events, etc. outside the venue on the day of the event at many times the original cost.

Snoopy, your speaking of the current black market, it's only in the last 2-300 years that things are rationed or outlawed for the most part. With some notable exceptions of course. I believe england outlawed anal sex in the 1500's, and of course slaves have been mostly outlawed for quite some time in Europe.

Anyway, just to get people off this darn black market, the black market for my purposes only does stolen items.
