Stranded - The Manor of Mystery

He was feeling awkward enough as it is. He felt a frustration in her voice and he felt ashamed.
"If... just... your dress, it will soak the pants."
He hugged her and said "No, it's fine forget it. When we leave I will hand you my coat."

Waiter brought the menus and they ordered. Hawke ate all up, and they had nice time.
On the way out they took the little kitty and he gave Alex his coat so the stain doesn't show.

They went to their home and at the door it was apparent that someone was all ready there.

She grasped his hand, scared about what was lurking. "Durc. . . I haven't taken my meds today. . ." she confessed quietly.

He hugged her. "It's okay, we're home." He stepped in and his mother and another girl, probably ten years older than Alex.

"I see my disappointing daughter finally decided to show up!"

He was standing there completely in shock and he silently almost frozen said to Alex
"Go ahead and take your meds. I will handle this."

Alex was confused, but she went and took her meds. She took a few milligrams more than she normally did, since some of her symptoms were showing for a bit. She shivered.

"You look really nice. I see you are wearing one of Beth's dresses. They sooth you better than him."
A girl spoke to her, she was Durcet's half sister.

The girl was smiling "Sorry, Durcet. I just can't shake it off. You look really nice."

"Thank you," she said warily. "Forgive me if I sound suspicious, but, I'm sure you can understand."

"Nice to meet you." She giggled a little bit. "Sorry I just... you are beautiful, and seeing you wearing one of Durcet's dresses really makes me remember our childhood."

"You're Durcet's sister?" she asked, smiling a bit. Durcet never talked about his family, but after the mansion and some of the things he said, she had a few ideas why.

"Well..." Cynthia spoke hesitantly "we're not practically related. But he really helped a lot while growing up. He was like my older sis."

Some of Alexa's suspicions confirmed, she nodded in understanding. "He doesn't talk about you guys much," she commented. "Then again, I don't talk about my family, either."

"I don't blame him." She came closer to her almost leaning into her face.
"Sorry, you look stunning. You and Beth are?"

"Durcet and I are what?" she asked the other woman. "If you're asking if we're sleeping with each other, then, yes. We are. And he's a good man. Whether or not we're a 'couple'?" she shrugged. "I'm not sure. Considering how we met, I don't think putting a label on our relationship is a wise idea."

She smiled. "I am, too," she said. She looked in his direction, where he seemed to be arguing with his mother. "Probably a wise idea to have her leave, Durcet is about to go into one of his fits," she noted, rummaging around until she found his meds.

"Fine! She can stay but you must go!" Durcet was heard yelling.

"She's only here to convince Durcet to let me stay." Cynthia told her.

"Go!" he was standing in front of the door.

She walked over to Durcet and handed him his meds. "You may not think you need them," she said softly. "But you're on the verge of a breakdown, and we both know we can't afford that. I spent two years trying to find you, I'm not loosing you again. Please take them."

He took the meds and looked at his mother filled with anger.
"You do know this is your work. I take these because of you."

He took the meds.
"Now leave! She can stay."

Girl was now sitting on the couch ignoring the whole situation.

She looked at Durcet's mother and nodded. "I'd advise you leave, ma'am," she said softly, politely, almost sweetly. "There are some things he and I must attend to, and you're making him aggravated. So, please leave."
