This is just a story layout, pretty much the edited highlights. If it was ever written as a full story, it would be a lot more in-depth and slower paced, with plenty of initial doubts in the father's mind, and the photoshoot would be more drawn-out. It would mainly be told from the perspective of the step-dad, who gets a taste of heaven, but stupidly throws it all away.

I wouldn't think the girl gets confident, but she might enjoy certain aspects of her ordeal, and I'd see it that she starts to hate her step-dad for bringing in Tom and his friends.
