Summer at the Lodge (Closed for AngelofyourNighmares)

She needed to know what mason was hiding she didn't know his last name but before her uncle got on that boat in the morning she would find out so she could do her own research. She watched as he walked away from her towards his cabin, they were worlds apart she knew that but there was slot that her family didn't know about her and a lot that they did, she sighed staying and enjoying the peace for a few more moments before heading to the house.

Dammit Emily thought as she got to the house and couldn't see a damn thing she knew she could easily get lost luckily she found her room in not to much time or without much of a hassle she changed into her pajamas and crawled into the huge bed and with ease fell asleep.

The house was alive early the next morning. Joseph and Maddie were up having breakfast and talking all about what they were going to do on the boat the next few days. Meanwhile, Mason was loading the boat full of coolers overflowing with beer, soda, ice, everything they might need for entertaining. The galley was stuffed with food of all sorts. Not an inch of cargo space was going to waste.

It wasn't long after breakfast that the guests started to arrive. From the look on people's faces, a number of them were jet-lagged or came in on the red eye and then hopped Joseph's private plan to come up to the cabin like Emily had. "Don't worry about it folks, you can relax on the yacht before our party tonight!" Maddie called out.

Much like Emily's arrival, Mason was ferrying people's bags onto the boat for them, stowing them in their quarters as the boat crew was getting the ship read to cruise around the lake. As he did, Emily caught one of the guests calling him "Mr. Goodbriar". Joseph quickly cut them off, telling them that he doesn't deserve such nicety.

"Just Mason is good enough for him," Joseph said, casting a side long glance at him as they all got on the boat. Maddie came back to the house for a moment, looking for Emily.

"You're all set for the next few days? Got the internet set up and you know where everything can be found?" She asks, dressed for the boat as she talked with her niece.

Emily woke up relatively early the next day and took a quick shower before dressing and heading down to see her aunt and uncle off. She decided to wear something rather simple today. https://pin.it/34Sj4wP
She walked down and noticed everything that was going on she was excited for them to leave because real peace and quiet would come. She smiled as she walked into the kitchen.

She didn’t eat much all she really had was a muffin even though there was a full spread out. There was so much going on Emily didn’t know where to look from one way to the next. She could tell how excited her aunt was but at the same time she keep things to her chest as well.

She walked outside and noticed it was just As beautiful during the day as it had been at night... she spotted mason and gave him a smile things had gotten a little awkward the night before. She felt her blood boil at her uncles comment but made a mental note of masons last name.

Emily walked back to the house not wanting anyone to notice the irritated look on her now red face.

She smiled at her aunt Maddie wasn’t as bad as Joseph. “I’m fine aunt Maddie, you go and have a good time.” She said with a smile

"Don't have to tell me twice, sweetie." Maddie smiled, giving Emily a kiss on the cheek. "Have a good time!" She called back to her as she raced outside. She was the last one onto the boat before Mason cast the line off. He made sure the dock was secure as the boat captain drove it out onto the lake. As it went, all of Joseph and Maddie's guests started hooting and hollering like spring breakers but with a few more decades on their skin and a few more zeroes on their net worth.

Mason waited for them to pull out of sight before he doubled over, putting his hands on his knees. After a few relaxing sighs, he stood up, pumping his fists. It wasn't until he turned back around to see Emily that he froze a moment. He cleared his throat, looking somewhat embarrassed before he headed down the side of the house to get back to his cabin for a while. He had it in mind to relax a bit now that he didn't have any work to do for his employers.

She smiled softly at her aunts comment and followed her as she headed back outside so that she could see them off. Emily would have a good time once she did some research and once she was able to delve into writing, she couldn’t wait to take her laptop and and sit by the lake and just write and perhaps learn more about mason. She watched as mason cut the line and Emily felt a bit of relief she didn’t have to pretend she was something she wasn’t for a few days.

She couldn’t help but smile over at mason, he was a enigma to her. She shook her head she prayed she wasn’t like that when she got older then again money made a lot of people be a lot different she was grateful that she wasn’t anything like them.

She could see mason was tired and she knew her aunt and uncle had worked him like a mule she knew she was doing a job, but he still deserved respect. She grinned knowing that he was just as relieved as she was that they were done. She could tell he was a little embarrassed but she hoped her smile would ease his mind a little. She watched as he walked away feeling like he was avoiding her... she had secrets of her own but she was more of a open book about them mason not so much.

For now however she just wanted to go in and grab a bottle of water, maybe eat another muffin and curl up in a corner and read for a bit yet at the same time she needed to know more about mason. Hmmm maybe she could ask him to come up for lunch she looked through the fridge and the freezer in the massive kitchen one of many she thought and found some good prime rib and decided that would make for great sandwiches.

She dialed the number down to the cabin a little nervous.

The line rung a few times before Mason picked up. "Something you needed, Emily?" Mason asked crisply, his voice still professional even though Joseph and Maddie had gone already. Given the size of the cabin, it shouldn't have taken that long to reach the phone. The mind races to consider what he was doing that took time to stop.

She bit her lip and shuffled back and forth not believing she was actually going to do this. She felt a little bad for having disturbed him. “I don’t need anything, I was just wondering if you’d like to join me for lunch I’m making prime rib sandwiches.” She said a little breathless. She hoped he would agree but then again she wouldn’t blame him if he didn’t.

There was a pause on the other end of the line. Mason seemed dumbstruck that Emily was so thoughtful. "Umm, yes, I'd love to. I'll... I'll be up in a few minutes." He said before hanging up.

True to his word, he walked up to the house a few minutes later, even stopping to knock on the door, for some reason. When Emily opened it, Mason seemed a bit more put together than when he was working for Joseph and Maddie. His shirt was a button-down with long sleeves. His jeans looked to be in good shape. He even left his beanie behind, revealing his rather nicely kept hair.

"Thanks for inviting me," Mason said as he stepped inside. It seemed he was regarding this as though he was a guest this time, rather than an employee of Emily's aunt and uncle. "Did you want me to help with lunch?" He asked, offering to help almost as a reflex.

For a moment she had thought perhaps he had hung up until finally she heard him speak. She suddenly felt a little lame for doing this. She smiled to herself when he agreed to come up she honestly didn’t think Mason was going to agree with her, Mason probably knew why Emily was really here but she didn’t care...

Emily started to get some things together before she heard the knock at her door. She smiled kindly when she opened door. He was even more attractive when cleaned up she thought to herself her heart skipping a few beats as she blushed slightly and looked away.

“Thank you for coming.” She said sweetly as he follows her to the kitchen. “No you just sit back and relax, where would you like to eat? We have many places to choose from, inside or outside.” She felt like she was rambling. “Also what would you like to drink?” She asked sweetly as she rummaged around the kitchen.

Mason smiled as he slid into a seat around the island in the massive kitchen. He watched Emily buzz around, making lunch for the both of them. It was another welcome break the boat tour was going to give him. "Oh, I eat outside plenty. I don't get to eat inside the big house that often. Do you mind if we relax in the big living room while we eat? There's probably enough space that we can do it picnic style." He offered, trying not to stare as she bent to look in the fridge.

"Oh, I could go for one of Joseph's expensive beers if we're having prime rib sandwiches." He suggested in answer to her question. When she turned around with one, he knew he'd been caught staring at her ass a bit too long.

She smiled as he took a seat this was nothing to her the fancy house but she Sensed Mason wasn’t used to this and she wanted him to feel as normal as possible and to feel at home with her. It wasn’t hard to make lunch and while she would have made something more sensible she soon realized that her aunt and uncle didn’t do simple. She needed to know more about him and one way or another this was going to somehow hopefully be the way.

She felt sad when he mentioned he didn’t get to eat in the house often. “I would like that too.” She said softly with a smile. She handed him the beer but didn’t act as if she had known he had been staring. “Go make yourself comfortable as soon as I’m done I’ll be right in.” She said as she finished up when she was done she grabbed a glass of wine for herself Grabbed the food and headed into the living room.

By the time Emily joined him, Mason had pushed the ottoman and other furniture out of the way and spread a throw blanket out on the floor. Lining the edge with pillows, he was already leaning back on them. He looked so relaxed as he gestured to a low table he'd set up for their food to keep it from spilling. "Come join me..." He said, standing up to help set the food down and give her a hand to settle onto the floor with him.

"Everything in this house seems built for comfort. Even the carpet in here feels like it's laying on top of a mattress." He says, pushing on the soft floor.

She thought it was sweet how he had set everything up in the living room, she wasn’t used to people really even being thoughtful towards her, most people ignored her because they thought she was like her family or that because she had money she was different then them and she would never treat people like that. She smiled as she walked in and he looked so relaxed she was glad that she had invited him up. She smiled again seemed she was doing a lot of that today it wasn’t really something she was used to as of late.

She did as he said more then happy to join him. She looked at him softly. “Yeah they like there comfort.” He could hear in her voice some type of feelings were hidden behind her words.

"Perhaps a little too much?" Mason asked, probing at that tension he heard in Emily's voice. "We don't have to talk about them if you don't want to, but I wonder if you've ever gotten the chance to vent. Believe me, there's nothing you can say that will offend or cast them in a different light as far as I'm concerned." He says, leaning back and picking up a sandwich as he gets set to listen.

She nodded her head with a frown part of her wanted to tell him everything and a part of her didn’t. She looked at him with a sad smile... why didn’t he look at her the way that other people looked at her. She didn’t most people just assumed that she was just like her family. She looked over at him she actually felt comfortable with him. She took a long drink of the glass of wine that she poured herself. “People think I’m like them.... I’m not, I want my own life but they my parents my family want me to be a doctor and that’s never been what I wanted.” She said softly.

“You know why I’m here...I had to get away, it was too much pretending.” She said with a deep breath.

Mason listens, not judging or rolling his eyes. He lets Emily finish before setting the sandwich down. "So, are you here to see if you can make the life you want to live work?" He asks, looking to see what she wants to get out of this trip.

She wasn’t used to telling her story to People Emily was a pretty closed off person due to the fact that she always felt like she was under a microscope and that she was constantly being judged. She took a bite of her own food as she waited for him to speak grateful that he actually stemmed to enjoy her company and not pretending because he wanted something from her. “There are several reasons I am here honestly.” She said taking a deep breath as she looked at him. “One was because my aunt and uncle always pick someone to come vacation here from the family for the summer, this just happened to be my year.” She said with a breath.

“Another is to get away from my parents I am tired of them pushing me I want to be a writer not a doctor I am nothing like them. Don’t get me wrong they are great parents and providers but it’s not the life I envision for myself.” She said looking over at him as he listened to her intently. “And my friends they use me for my money well I guess technically my family’s money, everywhere I go I am either being judged for who my family is, what I have, or what I am into.” She said looking away for a moment. “I needed a change of scenery but also because constantly being in the lime light is exhausting honestly.” She said with a sigh.

“Anyway enough about me tell me about you.” She said softly.

Mason listened, nodding slightly as Emily laid out her reasons for traveling up here. He didn't judge or react negatively. It's such a switch from being around her "friends". He sat his drink down as she wrapped up.

When she asked him to talk about himself, his whole mood changed. He seemed to curl into himself as he swallowed nervously. "Oh, not much to my story. I was away for a while and moved here to get away from... things. Sounds a lot like your story, huh?" He said, forcing a chuckle. "With being gone for as long as I was, I didn't have much of a resume so I had to take what work I could find. Hence why I would up working for your aunt and uncle. I wear a lot of hats around here and they pay pretty well for me to handle everything for them." He says, hoping that's enough explanation.

She was glad to have someone to talk to that didn’t know that much about her... he didn’t need to know she had been a sub back home not even her family knew that she gave it up even though she loved it she was tired of being used and so over not getting anything out of it, it had been a long time since she had a good lover, or a good dom she wasn’t even sure if she had ever been in love, she was only 22 she had time for that. She wouldn’t tell him all that he didn’t need to know that much personal stuff about her.

She was glad that he seemed to listen to her carefully. She finished her sandwich as she had talked with Mason. She sensed her asking him about himself bothered him and she knew damn well there was something she needed to know. She could tell her asking had made him uncomfortable and that was the last thing she had wanted to do. She knew he wasn’t being truthful and part of that bothered her but the other part of her understood. It did sound like her story but she knew his had a lot more behind it then hers had.

She knew when a man was nervous she was young not stupid. She nodded her head listening, but soon enough now that she knew his last name she would do her own research.... she felt bad about the cards he was dealt with her aunt and uncle because they didn’t treat him very well. “I’m glad they pay you well doesn’t mean they should treat you like a criminal or something.” She said thoughtfully as she stood to start cleaning up.

Mason went about as white as a sheet at the mention of being treated like a criminal. He swallowed nervously as he looked up at Emily. "Why would you say that? Why would you equate my treatment to how they would treat a criminal?" He presses, seemingly out of nowhere.

"Did they talk with you about me already? What did they say?" Mason was on his feet now, moving in front of Emily. He even put his hands on her arms, holding her just below the shoulders as he looked into her eyes.

She noticed a sudden change in Mason first in the way he looked at her then in the way he turned white as a sheet. When he looked up at her like that she felt something go cold inside of her as her heart started to race. She wondered what She had said that was so wrong. “It’s just a matter of speaking.” She said softly confused at his sudden change. She didn’t want to seem scared but at this moment honestly she kind of was. “What are you about?” She asked her heart beating so fast he might be able to hear it. She didn’t understand what was wrong.

When he stepped in front of her she slightly backed up. She gasped when he grabbed her arms not enough to hurt her just startled her. “They didn’t say anything... it was just a expression.” She said shaking A little.

Mason stopped, seeming to realize what he was doing. He let Emily go as he stepped back and turned away from her. "I'm sorry... I had no right to put my hands on you without your consent." He bit his lips a moment as he put his hand over his eyes. Taking a breath he straightened up.

"I'll be in the cabin if you want to talk again." He offered before striding toward the front of the house and the door outside.

It wasn’t that she was scared that he had put his hands on her, it was more so the way he was looking at Her. “It’s, I’m fine...” she said more confused then she had ever been in her entire life. His words however was what perplexed her even more... she needed to know what was wrong with him... she wasn’t sure she would like what she found it but she needed to know none of the less. She looked at him softly wanting him to know she was okay when he bit his lip and covered his eyes. She watched him carefully as he seemed to be regaining his composure.

She looked at him stunned when he mentioned that he would be in the cabin if she wanted to talk as if what happened didn’t just happen... she took a deep breath she needed answers and she needed them now. She walked to her room and grabbed her laptop and walked over the the huge bed. She took a deep breath before typing Mason’s name into the search bar. What she found stunned her and she wasn’t sure what to believe. She took a deep breath and read a few chapters of her book and then changed.

She then headed to Mason’s cabin and knocked gently.

It was a few hours later when Emily came to the cabin. After a few moments after her knock, Mason opened the door. When he saw her standing there, he stepped back, gesturing for her to come in. As she walked into the cabin, it was clear that it had a more hand-made feel than the big house. From the walls and the framing, it was probably built by Mason himself.

"I want to apologize again about putting my hands on you. That was a violation and I'm so sorry that I let my emotions get the better of me," he said as he follows her into the small, but cozy living room. The furniture all looked secondhand, but very comfortable. The throw blankets and pillows on the couch and loveseat were like something out of a knitting class.

"Is there... anything you want to ask or say?" He asked, gesturing to the couch for her to sit down.

Emily was nervous as she walked the path to Mason’s cabin in a fresh dress it was classy but simple. She took a deep breath before she knocked gently on Mason’s cabin door. She smiled as he gestured for her to come into the cabin, she entered but didn’t look at Mason right away. She liked being here already more then she had the big house she felt at home here, this was the kind of life she really craved for.. or at least something along these lines. It was a cute modest cabin and mason had made it his own. She looked at him softly when he apologized for putting his hands on her.

“I’ve been handled worse.” She replied but didn’t dare elaborate. “No harm done.” She said wanting to ease his mind. His home/cabin was adorable she thought to herself. She looked at him gently with a warm smile as she finally met his eyes. She sat down when he offered her a seat, she knew the truth and she knew most woman would have freaked out and want to Be anywhere but there but Emily wasn’t like most woman. “Why did you freak out on me?” She simply asked.
