I was in the Army, out now and now a book publisher dabbling in a mixture of military/fantasy/and sci-fi, and I was successful to the point that I decided to go on an extended summer stay on the Northern California coast, rent a beach front property and to top it all off, invite some of my closest high school friends. We had not seen each other since our graduation. Sure we stayed in touch via Facebook, but we had not seen each other in person. Everyone had gone their separate ways, jobs, careers, families, and new lives. I never married nor did I have kids because of my military and I didn't want the added stress, but now it would be a time to kick back and be able to see people that I spend several years with, pulled pranks, classes, dances, and all down the line. Looking out the window from my loft in Los Angeles my mind was filling of all of the adventures we did, taking dad's car for the first time and driving down the beach late at night with the top down and the salty-cool air flowing through our hair, our when I told everyone I was going to the Army and they threw me a farewell party that doubled as our graduation party. Ah, good times.
Going to my cellphone I pulled up the contacts list and began sending text messages asking for them to get back with me on whether or not they could come. I had this whole thing planned; I rented a van to pick them up at the local airport, the beach front property and we were adjacent to a massive, mountainous, lush forest that was excellent for hiking and generally just getting lost for awhile. It would be a bit cold, but well worth it to be able to have roaring campfire talk once again.
(This thread will be open to everyone, but I ask that you send me a PM before adding to it. I do ask that if you want to play, add a picture of your character, like I did. This will be an adventure oriented thread.)
