Survivor 25 Scoreboard - talemestories

Exhibitionist story is posted for reading.

Fetish is cumming and I have a spin off of the fetish for the non-con that I have sketched out so far.

Non-con up as continuation of fetish story. Pending for Dec 1.

I will check out mind control next but need to read to see how hypnosis features in that category without verging on non-con.

Next year will be a great Survivor year with so many prolific writers joining. I both like your style and your energy.

We shall see. I won't lie that the grind of producing is rather taxing. I am enjoying it but will need to consider whether I will gamify my writing or focus on things I really enjoy.

I would say focus on enjoyment and produce great stories you want to tell. Then you can make one that gives you that extra point but I focus on the things I want to write myself and then might take some inspiration from a category I haven't written in if it feels right.

Yeah, focus on enjoyment and writing great stories.

Personally I’m pretty burnt out by hitting every category, but I still have lots of plans for next year.

Well, the exhibitionist story has gone over well coming in as my third highest rated story as of yet (4.75/101).

Fetish seems to be a dog but we shall see what comes of this. Not sure if it's the story (I thought it was okay but not awesome) or my lack of knowledge of the category. First story I have had that hasn't cracked 1000 in a day or so.

Part Two where I moved to non-con with the same characters is doing much better but with a much lower rating.

I have the mind control / hypnosis story mostly done but it needs some editing and polishing. I'd like to have it up before the weekend but I'm guessing I will get it up Saturday morning at earliest.

We shall see what happens.

Interracial has begun. Asian / White. Might be a renter / landlord situation, might be something else.

Let's see what cums of that.

The poetry ones look interesting as well. Pretty sure I can do those in this time.

I am thinking for nonerotic that I will just redact the naughty parts of an unfinished story ... hope that would count ... hahahaha.

My exhibitionist story has become my third highest rated story of all time. I did have a lot of fun with it so that's good. It's certainly a category I am going to explore more as I do enjoy such things.

I am working on an IR Asian/White landlord/tenant story right now. I have a couple of endings in mind but not sure which way I will go yet. Seems to be verging on a romance but so be it.

It's been an interesting experience as categories I wouldn't choose to write for are doing well for me. Instead of the normal taboo / incest categories where numbers are high, I have been using ratings as my metric for the smaller categories. Yeah, I know, write for yourself (which I do, actually) but I do like to see what 'clicks' or catches the eye of people, too. I don't really get that many insightful comments so I tend to base my 'impact' on views or ratings or both.

/end ramble

To some extend you can watch the ratings to gage the audience reaction. And I had the same experence as you with trying to write in genres that where not my normal ones. I found that I liked it more than I thought I would.

Writing in different categories is challenging, but so is trying to write to the themes of the various contests and competitions. It is too late for those this year, but I think you should plan to do some of those next year. Writing within constraints sometimes makes the writing better.

There are also some good story sparks on the bingo card that added a challenge to writing.

But you don’t seem to have any need for story sparks, do you?

I saw the competitions when I started but I didn't enter. I am in the Christmas contest with a decently rated story right now (4.82/896) but I doubt that will be enough to place. We shall see though.

I have entered each of the contests once I had my feet under me on the site. I did only (re)start on June 20 after a return (I got a bit pissed off with shitty anon comment and deleted before I realized I could simply turn off anon comments, live and learn) so pretty decent output for six months or so I think.

Oh, right, the bingo card. I must have a fair few of those squares filled now as well but I am focused on simply writing right now.

As for story sparks, I have a reasonable imagination but I do enjoy things that spur new stories.

This is just a bit of personal navel gazing as I don't seem to fit in well in other forum topics. I haven't quite got the feel of the forum yet and have found some very touchy folks responding to my comments with exceptional vigor. I have spent enough time on forums in earlier years to know which ones work for me and which do not.

Im still on the fence of including a new bingo for next year. Any good insights into how that should work next year? I liked the sparks and have actually written stories based on them so for me they work well.

It looked interesting but I came late to the party and found myself playing catch up more than anything else. I think the sparks are cool but really didn't get a chance to explore it. I remember downloading the card but never got to it. I think I hit a large number of them over the course of my stories.

Am sitting with a bingo card now to see what works. I think it will be a smaller card with 5x5 instead of the massive 7x7 that we used this year. That way even us slower writers have a shot at finishing a line :)

Might introduce a new board at summer time for those with faster pace. How does that sound? Should I include both categories and sparks or only sparks? Im thinking only sparks. And maybe a side board where I have 25 radom categories?

I'll repost this bingo card comment in the propper 'next year ideas' thread here in the forum so others might stumble upon it.

Another option may be to ditch the bingo card and add the option of picking up one spark a month in addition to the contests.

The biggest piece will be getting everyone to start at the same time, have the pieces all together (like you did with the scoring card) so things are consolidated / easy to follow, and focus on feedback to the authors playing. First two are pretty easy, third will be tough.
