Here in Philly men & women are equally obnoxious. No man is MANLY w/o a cell phone to do the deal at 45-50 MPH in stop & go traffic.
The scariest story I've heard yet? A state trooper was riding in the breakdown lane with lights flashing, approaching an accident. He actually got to watch his approaching death as some bimbo plowed into him at 70 MPH - no skid marks - still yapping on her cell phone.
Even scarier? Even though a couple of states are now attempting to compile statistics to determine the extent of the problem, the data will always be primarily anecdotal. And without empirical data, how likely is it that Congress (let alone State legislatures), which are composed of lawyers, will pass laws limiting cell phone use that makes their business easier to perform? Not too damn likely.
