Table 6 (closed)

Het lets his hand fall to her shoulder as she confesses her blasphemous ways. Looking to the sky with with a pious look that doesn't quite hide the amused smirk, he says quietly, "Lord, protect me from this scandalous woman."

When its his turn to order, he orders the breakfast hash. A collection of potatoes, sausage, onions and mushrooms all fried and smothered in shredded cheese. "And coffee, cream and sugar, and absolutely yes on the two straws."

Once the waitress leaves he leans a bit closer, just because he can. "Actually, I'm very picky who I share food with, but when you ordered a shake with the breakfast plate, you made the cut."

Reaching across his lap, his index finger traces a relatively innocent line across her knee. "So how are the knees doing?" He laughs at a sudden thought. "You're gonna have to wear a long skirt to work tomorrow or there's gonna be some awkward questions about how this date went."

The slouched, off-the-shoulder collar of her sweater drops slightly as she leans in closer. So when the warmth of his hand makes contact with her skin, she feels it straight in her core - an involuntary clench of interest that makes her press her teeth into her lower lip.

While the line Matt traces along her knee is seemingly innocent, she can’t deny the earnestness of her libido and her body’s responses to his slightest touch.

“They’ll be ok.” She answers on the fly. “I’ll need to ice them when I get home, but they’ll be fine.”

She smiles at his next thought and can’t help but feign ignorance, “Oh?” Risa slides her hand to his knee and simply lets it rest. “What kind of awkward questions do you suppose I’d get?”

"You know. Hot date. 'Oh look someone spent some time on her,' Aaand you are just yanking my chain." He says embarrassed. "I was all serious too."

The shake arrives and he slides it to his side of the table. "Now you need to earn back your shake privileges. But, lucky for you, I like strawberry as a flavor, but I dont like real strawberries."

He carefully plucks the garnish off the top of the shake and extends it toward her. Half of a fresh strawberry, held between two fingers now tipped with whip cream.

Risa notes his discomfort and meets it. “I know you were, and thank you. I was simply…curious. Inquisitive mind and all.”

She raises a brow as Matt slides her milkshake towards his side and offers her the trimmed strawberry between strong fingers. It’d be easy enough to take the strawberry into her own grasp, but instead her nimble fingers find purchase on his wrist, floating at his pulse.

“So you don’t like pineapple? Or strawberries? Do you not like fruit?”

She leans in and meets his eyes for the briefest of moments. “More for me,” she shrugs and chuckles under her breath, before lowering her eyes and parting her full lips to gently take his whipped cream tipped fingers and strawberry into her mouth.

Matt's mind is working on a witty response when Risa's dark lips wrap around his fingers.

The move was not overtly sexual. Not really. But the warm, wettness causes a sensation that shoots straight from his fingertips to deep in his lower belly.

His mind goes completely blank. Had she asked something?

Just as she pulls away from Matt’s fingers, the waitress arrives to drop off their plates, waters, and his coffee. Risa nods her thanks and moves the platters in front of them.

“You still with me?” She asks with a smile; the smallest dab of whipped cream adorning the corner of her mouth.

"Bananas!" Matt blurts out a little too loudly, then looks around embarrassed.

He gives the waitress an awkward smile as his neck turns red, laughing at himself as soon as she walks away. "I like bananas. And apples. I know, I have the palette of a 12 year old."

"Sorry, you short circuited my brain there for a second. " He gives her a look that falls well short of innocent, the desire behind his eyes impossible to hide completely. Then his smile expands.

His hand moves to her face, his fingers brushing her cheek and curling just behind her jaw. Then he uses his thumb to brush the whip cream from the corner of her mouth.

The motion is much slower than it needs to be, Matt making little effort to hide that it is an excuse to touch her. Then he pulls his hand away and licks his thumb clean. "Mmm, you taste as good as you look."

Risa blinks at his sudden outburst. Bananas…? She had temporarily forgotten the last few questions she had asked him before taking his fingers into her mouth.

Then Matt caresses her face and licks the whipped cream off his thumb, and she feels the diner temperature go up 10 degrees.

The tip of her tongue reflexively licks the corner of her mouth, and she smiles, somewhat unsure of how to respond in the moment without climbing his lap in the back of a diner.

So instead, she focuses on her food: scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns, and two pancakes.

She takes the syrup and drizzles it over both the bacon and pancakes. Then grabs the glass ketchup bottle and starts shaking and tapping the side for her eggs and hash browns.

Risa groans when nothing comes out. “I really wish this place would just do the squeeze bottles, they’re so much easier.”

Without a second thought, she raises the bottle overhead, eyeing the opening and neck. “Is there even any…?”

Before she can finish her question, a gob of ketchup splats on her eyeglass lens and cheek.

Most of the coffee is caught by the hand Matt clasps over his mouth as he laughs uncontrollably. This girl was a mess. A beautiful, sweet, wonderful mess.

"Oh my god! For both of our safety, please just stop moving." He says with a laugh in his voice. Carefully he reaches across to slowly remove her glasses.

He cant stop smiling, but he can see the embarrassment on her face. Without a word he swipes the ketchup off her glasses with a finger, then smears a bright red line directly beneath his nose, ensuring he looks even more ridiculous than her.

Then he waves for the waitress to request extra napkins.

Risa is certain that her face is every shade of red that matches the ketchup on her cheek.

“I can’t believe I did that…” she says, laughing at herself.

When he carefully removes her glasses and swipes the ketchup across his upper lip, she just about loses it. “Oh my god, stop.” Genuine laughter superseding any level of embarrassment she’d normally feel.

Without missing a beat, their waitress drops off a stack of napkins and Risa grabs a few, wiping her cheek clean. With her free hand she cradles Matt’s face, bringing them closer.

“You’re ridiculous, you know that?” she says while laughing, and gently wipes off his ketchup mustache.

His eyes close a little longer than a blink when she cradles his face, and he draws a deep breath. The moment is somewhat spoiled by the cloying scent of ketchup, but he can't stop smiling.

"What do you mean? I'm just trying to keep up with the latest fashion trend. I hear all the cool people are wearing ketchup on their face this season."

A little reluctantly he goes back to eating his hash. A perfect combination of cheesy, greasy goodness. But he cant help reflexively wiping at his upper lip occasionally.

"As far as romantic gestures go, I'm only gonna rate that one a five. I'm gonna be smelling ketchup all night until I can give my face a proper wash with soap and water."
