Talk Like Trump

June 26, 2020

At the end of the briefing, a reporter pressed Pence and the administration for the approach
of "saying do as we say, not as we do," and the campaign's ignoring resistance from local
officials over events.

Pence dodged the question and again returned to the argument about freedom of speech.
"And even in a health crisis, the American people don't forfeit our constitutional rights."

Mike Pence-

"Well, the freedom of speech, the right to peaceably assemble is enshrined in the Constitution
of the United States and we have an election coming up this fall, and President Trump and I
believe that taking proper steps, we've created screening at recent events and giving people
the very best counsel that we had. We still want to give people the freedom to participate
in the political process and we respect that."

Mike Pence-

Pence, when pressed by a reporter, declined to recommend that all Americans wear masks
as public health officials advise, instead urging people to listen to their local health officials
and pray.

Trump Battles The Media for Attention

June 30, 2020

There are some serious questions being asked by the media-

The NewYork Times gathers damaging information.

Trumps's FUX TV tech bros have exhausted themselves.

"The Lone Warrior", is the best that they could contribute.

Coronavirus dominates, at the moment- all of Trump's "warriors," are helpless.

Guns cannot stop Covid-19 from spreading.

30 Jun 2020 Trump's decisions have set America's recovery back, yet, the funds are not spent.

(They don't let Presiderp Trumpie handle loaded guns in public.)

Trump received an early and strong endorsement in 2016 from the NRA,
which spent $30 million to help his 2016 campaign and to blast his
Democratic opponent in TV ads. As president, he has sometimes vacillated
between pleasing his conservative base that opposes more gun control and
attracting moderate voters who favor measures to curb gun violence.
But in the end he has consistently sided with gun advocates.

So to all Americans, in every city near and far, small and large,
from mountain to mountain, and from ocean to ocean, hear these
words:

You will never be ignored again.

"Shut the-fuck-up, so that I can ignore you."

Much of Trump's plans depend on ignoring The People.

Trump ignores the moral, ethical, and lawful conventions.

Trump depends on his own ignorance, in order to convince himself his lies are truth.

Trump depends on a small fraction of the American population that ignores the rest.

What Donald Trump is doing in Portland is just as big a threat to America as
COVID-19

July 17, 2020

Trump went deep into Nixonian demands for “law and order.” Only what Trump means
by that isn’t really law, it’s force. And it’s not really order, it’s fear.

What’s now happening in Portland, Oregon, is a deployment of that strategy.

Unidentified men in camouflage uniforms on are on the ground in Portland over the
express orders of both the governor and the mayor. And they are taking people off
the streets for simply being protesters, no crime required. They aren’t arresting people
because these aren’t really police. This is military rendition. Or even more accurately
: extrajudicial kidnapping. It’s happening repeatedly in an American city, and it’s
barely bringing notice. Pay attention to Portland: What's going on is a trial run for
what Trump is bringing to the rest of the nation.

https://www.dailykos.com/stories/20...s-just-as-big-a-threat-to-America-as-COVID-19

Trump wants the economy up and running, in time for November elections.

That involves ignoring the reality of coronavirus damage, and Covid-19 deaths in the U.S.

If coronavirus was a burning meteor of "witch fire," that fell on NYC, first- and burned
many people to death, before the doctors and scientists fiqured out how to stop the buring,
and how to prevent the burning...

Why would Southern and Western states insist on inventing the Wheel, all over, again ?

Coronavirus: Georgia governor sues Atlanta over face mask rules
17 July 2020

Governor Brian Kemp and Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms
are having a battle- Gov.Kemp expects some reward from Trump,
because he has steadily ignored the safety and health of The People
in his state, to prove his loyalty to Trump. Much of the population
of Georgia have been convinced to accept Trump's propaganda as
truth- many refuse to wear masks, and many ignored social distancing.
The lockdown was ignored, and business continued as if coronavirus
did not exist- They shouted that "Covid-19 is a hoax," until the shouters
started to suddenly drop dead.

Georgia Governor Kemp says the policies of Mayor Bottoms (R) threaten people's livelihoods

The governor of Georgia is suing Atlanta authorities to prevent the US city from
enforcing its requirement to wear masks in public, along with other coronavirus-
related restrictions.

Governor Brian Kemp said Atlanta's Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms lacked the
authority to implement the rule.

Mr Kemp signed an executive order earlier this week voiding mask mandates
across the state.

But Ms Bottoms said this would not stop Atlanta from enforcing its ordinance.

America continues to remain at the epicentre of the global pandemic, with more
than 70,000 new cases reported on Thursday - a record daily jump in known
infections.

The majority of state governors have now ordered that the wearing of masks outdoors
be mandatory, rather than a personal choice. Among them are Republican governors
including Kay Ivey of Alabama, who have reversed their initial opposition to the mandates.

Why is Georgia filing a lawsuit?

Georgia's governor has sought to bar any mandatory requirements for face masks
in public places, suggesting it should be a personal choice instead.

But officials in several Georgia cities and counties have defied this. Mayor Bottoms,
who tested positive for coronavirus last week and is under quarantine, said the order
would not stop Atlanta from enforcing its own rules.

Governor Kemp's lawsuit, filed on Thursday, seeks to overturn Atlanta's rule on
masks, along with the mayor's order that it return to Phase 1 of reopening,
requiring people to shelter at home and restaurants to close their dining
rooms.

In a statement, Mr Kemp said he was taking the action "on behalf of the Atlanta business
owners and their hardworking employees who are struggling to survive during these
difficult times".

"I refuse to sit back and watch as disastrous policies threaten the lives
and livelihoods of our citizens," he added.

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-53429800

Atlanta's Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms suggested that expanded testing
and contact tracing would be "a better use of taxpayer money".

"If being sued by the state is what it takes to save lives in Atlanta, then we will
see them in court," the mayor said.

The lawsuit has also drawn criticism from other state leaders, including Savannah
Mayor Van Johnson, who issued a mandate on 1 July.

"It is officially official. Governor Kemp does not give a damn about us,"
Mr Johnson wrote on Twitter.

How fast are cases rising in the US?

The US has seen record numbers of new cases in the last few weeks, with the death toll
also starting to rise in recent days.

So far, the US has recorded more than 3.5m cases of the virus and nearly 140,000 deaths.

The renewed surge is being driven by fresh outbreaks in the south and west of the
country, which have seen infection rates go up since states started easing lockdown
restrictions at the end of May.

Dr Anthony Fauci, the country's top health official for infectious diseases,
said earlier this week: "We haven't even begun to see the end of [the virus] yet.

We will make America safe again.

And, yes, together, we will make America great again.

Cancel all asylum cooperation agreements in the Western Hemisphere.

Well, we have agreements with Honduras, Guatemala, with El Salvador.

We have great agreements, where, when Biden and Obama used to bring killers out,
they (who is "they" ?) would say, “Don’t bring them back to our country."
"We don’t want them.”
“Well, we (the Trump administration ? the Obama administration ?El Salvador
administration ?) have to.”
"We don’t want them"
"They wouldn’t take them."

Now, with us, they take them. Someday I’ll tell you why.
(Trump is boasting of a deal made with countries south of the U.S./Mexico border.
that bind them to a promise, to accept members of opposition forces, back in to their
country of origin ? El Salvador is one of them.)

Someday I’ll tell you why.
But they take them, and they
take them very gladly.

July 2020

Why did Trump chose to highlight El Salvador in 2020 ?

Is Trump trying to re-awaken suburban Republican resentment, about the exposure
of their sainted Ronald Reagan the Commie Hater ? FFS, Reagan did not have minions,
he had handlers. He believed he was on a film set, and that he was an actor in a TV series.
His handlers had stolen an election for him. He had been a sellout, all of his life.
His wife steered him through it, so they could have a protected existence in Hollywood,
at the end of their days. Trump is the GOP's newest deluded old fool. They learned their
lesson, after Nixon.

Trump's Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen deported hundreds of thousands
of Latin American undocumented and documented immigrants, seeking asylum.
They had rights, under the law, but Trump stripped them away.

If you’re waiting for “someday,” when Trump will tell us why, don’t hold your breath.

It’s gotten to the point where block quoting Trump is often the only way to quote him
in many instances because it’s nearly impossible to chop up his quotes in intelligible
ways. As a reporter, there’s simply no way to thread quotes together when one can’t
even wrap their mind around what point Trump was trying to make.

On Thursday, Trump got a do-over, holding a press event (i.e. another campaign rally)
on deregulation on the South Lawn of the White House. After taking the stage, Trump
bolted out of the gate with two minutes of his best stuff on his second-term agenda.

So we have many exciting things that we’ll be announcing over the next eight weeks,
I would say?

Things that nobody has even contemplated, thought about, thought possible, and things
that we’re gonna get done, we have gotten done, we started in most cases.

But it’s gonna be a very exciting eight weeks, a, uh, eight weeks like,
I prob, I think Mike, we can honestly say, nobody’s ever going to see eight weeks
like we’re gonna have.

"Get me the charter, please,” Mr. Trump said.

GARCIA-NAVARRO:
Let's talk about the Democratic nominee, Vice President Joe Biden.
He has been rolling out his policies. In a TV interview today, the -
President Trump took a shot at Vice President Biden's police reforms
that he has proposed with Fox News's Chris Wallace refuting his claims.

Let's listen.

(SOUNDBITE OF ARCHIVED RECORDING)

PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: And Biden wants to defund the police.

CHRIS WALLACE: Sir, he does not.

TRUMP: Look. He signed a charter with Bernie Sanders.

WALLACE: It says nothing about defunding the police.

TRUMP: Oh, really? It says abolish. It says - let's go.

WALLACE: All right. Well...

TRUMP: Get me the charter, please.

WALLACE: All right.

GARCIA-NAVARRO: Well, Biden's charter indeed does not say anything
about defunding the police. So what does it say?

LIASSON:
Joe Biden has been very clear that he opposes the defund the police movement,
but he has said that some funding for police departments should be redirected to
other services like counseling, mental health care. He has also said that police forces
too heavily armed with militarized equipment. He's talked about - he says, the last
thing you need is an up-armored Humvee coming into your neighborhood. So that's
where he is. He has not been in favor of defunding the police or abolishing the police.

In a clip from the hourlong "Fox News Sunday" interview on the steamy patio outside
the Oval Office, President Trump tells Chris Wallace that Democrats "want to defund
the police, and Biden wants to defund the police."

* "Sir, he does not," Wallace counters firmly.
* "Look, he signed a charter with Bernie Sanders ..." Trump begins.

Wallace interrupts: "It says nothing about defunding the police."

* Trump responds: "Oh, really? It's says 'abolish.'" He slaps his knees.
"Let's go! Get me the charter, please."

The clip ends there. But Wallace told Fox News' Bill Hemmer that Trump
"couldn't find any indication — because there isn't any — that Joe Biden
has sought to defund and abolish the police."

There are many things that are wrong with Trump, but his favorite vice
seems to be pushing at the boundaries of what he can get away with.

I suppose that it is a little game that he plays with his tech bros, and his

gave Trumpt ideas about scripting... I no longer give Trump credit for creativity-
he probably steals it, or trades favours for someone else's creations, and takes credit for it.

Know how to properly say Yosemite?

Trump stumbles to properly pronounce Yosemite. Is that a common mistake?

- Bryant-Jon Anteola
August 04, 2020

President Donald Trump apparently does not.

During a White House ceremony Tuesday about the Great American Outdoors Act, Trump twice stumbled to correctly pronounce the name of one of America’s most famous national parks.

Instead of saying “Yo-sem-it-ee,” Trump said “YO-se-MIGHT” then quickly followed with another incorrect pronunciation of “YO-sem-mi-NIGHT.”

“When young Americans experience the breathtaking beauty of the Grand Canyon,” Trump said. “When their eyes widen in amazement as Old Faithful bursts into the sky. When they gaze upon Yosemite’s ... Yosemite’s towering sequoias.

“Their love of country grows stronger. And they know that every American has truly a duty to preserve this wondrous inheritance.”
