Taming Scarlett

"I hadn't noticed you until you made that great presentation to clients that got us the Nicholson contract. After that, I started to realize that you were intelligent and beautiful and made an impulsive move. Guess i really screwed things up, huh?"

He seemed honestly regretful but something told her this was just the start of her torments. 'Needless to say, I should give him the benefit of the doubt. Maybe just maybe, the events of earlier today was just to get me to agree to go out with him. maybe it wouldn't hurt to be nice tonight and not be so aggressive. ' She thought. as she relaxed and took another sip of the wine. "Well hope it was worth it Mark!" she say, " Still playing with my food. She must've ate a few bites that she was not hungry no more.
Scarlett pushed her plate away and continued studying the environment. She noticed a man at the bar, he was looking straight at her and occasionally trying to catch her attention. She smiled as a plan for revenge plots in her mind.

Mark excused himself and left the table to go to the restroom. She stay there digging in all the music that was being heard. Before she could react, that guy was sitting at Marks seat with an extra drink in his hand. "I noticed you, you seemed like your having a bad day, figured you would like to chat." she smiled as she figured a way to enraged mark. Scarlett start to flirt a bit as does the guy. he was clearly not her type but she knew this would be as humiliating for his ego as it was earlier for her. Then she see him come back from the restroom to notice this other guy sitting at his seat.

Mark saw the other guy in his seat and felt crushed. He figured that he deserved it though. He walked back to the table and said, "Please excuse us, I took her out to try and cheer her up. Her dog just died." She knew how to get under his skin as well, he would have to remember that.

Scarlett watch as he looked a bit angry, but thats what he gets for playing her like that. She politely smiled to the guy and thanked him for the drink. as she followed Mark outside. she could tell by the way he was rushing outside that he was infuriated, then she realized that he still has more on her then she does on him.

When they got in the car, Mark turned to look over at Scarlett. "OK, now that we've succeeded at pissing each other off, what do you want to do?" he asked. "I think I've worked off my residual guilt by now, so let's go have some fun."

He was still calm and he did tried to make the best of it. "I don't know mark! I'm still learning about this city." She said playing innocent. She was surprise at his calm attitude. Scarlett felt she failed at humiliating him. A part of her felt bad, since he was trying to be nice, and right now, but he's not fooling her.

"Well what did you like to do back home?" Mark asked. He was still pretty hurt from before but did a pretty good job of not showing it.

 

[Misssweet]

Her guilt took over, " Well...I did use to go out dancing with my friends." she said softly, he looked up at her with a smile, "I know just the place!" As he start the car and zooms threw the street of the city.

They stopped at this small club that had a huge lineup. Mark get them in without the wait. Once inside, the music was booming and she couldn't help but to move her body to the beat of the music.

Mark watched Scarlett dance for a bit, marveling at the way she mastered the dance floor. If he didn't get on the floor someone else would ask her, so he walked up behind her and gently put his arms around her waist.
"Mind if I join you?" he asked

"Sure," She says with a smile, and she feels his hands wrap around her waist and their body getting taken over by the music. As they dance, Scarlett bumped into another girl dancing, when she turned she Saw Lucy, a coworker of theirs. "Hey Scarlett!" She exclaim as she hugs her. Scarlett smiled politely. "I never seen you here before! What brought you out here tonight!" Lucy says with the biggest smile, Before Scarlett could say anything Lucy took a look behind her and saw Mark. Her expression change when she realised Scarlett was here with Mark. Lucy takes Scarlett a bit away leaving Mark on the dance floor wondering what the hell is going on.
"Scarlett! Are you trying to get a promotion or something?"
She says accusingly, she did not seem too impress. "No," she argued, when in reality she was merely trying to Keep her job. "He ask me out and i decided to accept. That's all" she lied.

Mark let the girls talk for a bit. He went to the bar and picked up a cosmo for Scarlett and a beer for himself. He returned to Scarlett, saying, "are for a drink? Oh, Hi, Lucy."

 

[Misssweet]

"Hey mark" she says looking with a big grin on her face. Then she looks back at Scarlett "Well i'll let you two be. See you tomorrow morning." She says as she walks away. The way she was acting was odd. Scarlett took the drink and took a sip. They danced for a little while and before they knew it, it was late. She have to be at work early tomorrow. She grabbed mark's arm "I need to go." she said, as he lead her out of the club.

"Ok, I'll drop you off," Mark said, again helping her into the car. He pulled up in front of her house, turned to her, and asked, "I hope you had a good time?" Maybe he would at least get a kiss out of it.

 

[Misssweet]

Scarlett smiled at him, "I surprisingly did, thank you for everything." she lean a give him a kiss on the cheek. "See you tomorrow morning boss." she say as she go in for the night.

The morning after, her damn alarm didnt go off, she rush out of bed and hurry up to get to work. Damn this is bad, yesterday she get caught with her panties down and after all that, she's late! She managed to get to work 45 minutes late.

Mark left his office to find one of his submanagers yelling at Scarlett for being so late. He stepped up and said, "It's OK, she was on an errand for me. Put her in at her normal time." When the manager left, he said, "You were really something last night. Why don't you settle a bit and come to my office?"

 

[Misssweet]

Scarlett was stunned, "Hum...okay." Not sure of whether she should go or not. Mark went back in his office and she went to bring her stuff to her desk. Lucy quickly came to see Scarlett. " Girl! What is going on?" She decided to play innocent."What are you talking about?" "Come on! I saw you with Mark yesterday, your late this morning and now he's covering your ass!" She accused, Scarlett thought to herself that indeed he wanted to cover her ass, just not the same way she was saying. " Are you sleeping with him?" "Of course not! Come on now, i'm not like that!" " okay well maybe your not like that but i think he is!" As she gave Scarlett a serious glanced and went back to her desk.
Scarlett made her way to his office, wondering what he has plan on the agenda today.

Scarlett seemed to be nervous coming into his office. As he shut the door, Mark said, "Don't worry, Three isn't going to be any funny business today. I actually need someone to go on a trip with me and after your presentation you are the most qualified, so I'm giving you a shot. It would be for a weekend, and formal clothes are recommended."

Scarlett was mostly shocked at his request, but it was a opportunity to advance in the company. Maybe even a promotion. "Okay, when do we leave?" Then thinking for a bit. "Should i prepare a presentation or something?"

"We leave Friday, which gives you two days to figure out the presentation. I trust you will be able to accomplish this?"

 

[Misssweet]

"Of course!" She say confidently. "Thanks for the opportunity." Scarlett walked out of his office.
The next few days she prepared herself to impress clients. Scarlett was eager to prove herself capable of handling important files and bringing new clients.

The day of the trip arrived, and Mark brought his car around to take himself and Scarlett to the airport. He put the bags in the trunk and drove there. His plan was coming together, as he had only bought Scarlett a one way ticket and knew she couldn't afford one back herself.

Scarlett was eager for this week-end. She can actually show them what she's capable of. Mark been very polite and attentionate on the road there. They talked about the small things in life. Maybe she was totally wrong about him?

The hotel was beautiful, and the weather was perfect.

Mark set up in the hotel room. He threw on some gym clothes to lounge around in, as he didn't have to do anything for a while. He said, "Dinner tonight is formal, so why don't you show me what you'll wear so we can match?"

 

[Misssweet]

Scarlett went in her bags and dig up two formal dresses." Well, its either the red one or the white one." Not sure which one would be best. " i think i'll go for red." Scarlett like this dress. It was fitting and elegant at the same time very sexy.

"The red one really suits you," Mark said. He was wearing a black tuxedo with a bow tie. "Let's go to dinner. After that, we'll go to the club." He tapped his pocket to make sure he had what he needed to make the evening successful... for him, anyway. "Dumb question, and I know this is probably the wrong time to ask, but would you go on another date with me after this is over?"
