Nice to see so many drake-lovers on the boards! Wish I was closer to getting my next lil scaleling done, but still a bit far away in the financial department for that size of a detailed piece, heh.

Would love to scan and show my sketch of it so far, but I have a quirk about not showing ones I've created before the ink is done...it's a personal gift, either to myself or others...kinda strange, I don't mind if someone takes the idea from a pic of it done on someone and using it, but to take it and use it before it's done on the person its intended for...that irks me

But the basic gist is a large, aged granite ring, with elder Futhark runes and perhaps some conji "carved" into the stone representing basic things in me. A dragon coming thru the ring, head and neck extended outwards towards you, front claws gripping the stone, cracking them with his strength. Wings extended outward, fairly classic ridged European dragon style. The wings are the ones getting me, I have't gotten them *quite* right yet (dammit, I don't know how to MAKE it right either just know it isn't right yet, lol!).

Placement will be the ring circling the small of my back, probably about 6" diameter on the outer edge. The wingtips will extend out across the entirity of my lower back, with the very ends of them probably ending just before hitting my anterior iliac crests (front hipbones). All done in B&W/greywork, with perhaps the slightest hint of colour shaded into the eyes, or maybe along part of the wing. Undecided on that too! Ahh well, when it's finally done I'll show it off of course, although it's projected to take about 20 hours at this point from my artist's guesstimation when I doodled it for him, lol! Aiiiieeee...

My first piece was done by the owner of a shop near the U of Washington...scarred up like a SOB.(Can read itlike braile). The others have all been done by the owner of another shop, and one of his artists. I've been going to him for quite a while, so he tendes to cut me a deal on his normal rates. But, hell, if you're stuck with it on you for likfe, may as well pay to have it done right.
My tribals were all around 250-300 ish...the back dragon was, oh..hell, about 900 I think.

No small investment in tihs flesh so far.
