Tax Reform

Seems the entire rwcj are making $750K plus... otherwise why would they vote for someone completely not looking out for any of their best interests? They're not ignorant or anything, are they?

Can't guarantee tax cut for entire middle class: Mnuchin

A report on Friday from the non-profit Washington-based Tax Policy Center found that taxpayers in the top 1 percent income bracket - above $730,000 - would receive about 50 percent of the total tax benefit from the overhaul, with their after-tax income forecast to increase an average of 8.5 percent.

The group said about 12 percent of taxpayers would face a tax increase of roughly $1,800 on average.

Mnuchin and other Trump administration officials defended the tax plan, saying it is not aimed at helping the rich while acknowledging the details were in flux.

"The objective of the president is that rich people don't get tax cuts and we are perfectly comfortable, as we go through this process, we will explain to the American public how this works," Mnuchin said.

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Its such a broken record, tax cuts for the rich. Jesus...

We spend OVER $100 billion on immigration alone....

Where's the outrage over it? Or are you happy having it broken off in you again? You'll be happy if you're in the unfortunate bracket of having an INCREASE?

btw... 100 billion is a drop in the bucket compared to what this tax cut will cost.

We need growth to pay for all this stuff, and natural disasters. 1% aint gonna cut it....so how do we grow the economy?

I'll wait for the answer.

We don't have tax cuts, certainly not more of the trickle down crap which has done little other than increase the deficit and widen the income gap.

The economy should be grown from within, not from the top. Massive public works projects would be a good start, our infrastructure needs help bad.. I don't disagree with trumps stated views on nafta, I've always thought it was a bad idea in it's current form. Take away incentives for companies to ship jobs overseas, protect the workers here from having to compete with labor around the world working for dollars a day. There's many things that can be down, just leveling the playing field for the American worker.

You didn't answer my question...why are you ok with massive tax cuts that will further add trillions to the deficit in order to give the majority to the top.. and that chances are good that most of us on this board will have to fund that with tax increases?

No, I'm just patiently waiting. Rome wasn't built in a day. :D

Ishmael

*chuckle*

But PR should be.

:D

But really, this is how the Left attempts to win arguments, by the use of framing language. Allowing the conversation to be about loopholes excuses them from having to defend their "loopholes" like the earned income and child credits which allows the poor to get more money back than they paid in which is not just unfair, but pads the deficit and debt. By attempting to control the language with such non-economic terms as loophole and "trickle-down," the y mean to put anyone who disagrees with them in defensive mode; how can you be cruel enough to allow "the rich" to buy their way into tax breaks?

And that is one of the main inefficiencies of the "Progressive (socialist) Income Tax." It really does create the incentive for people to purchase and vote for the spoils of looting; whom to loot and whom to reward. When push comes to shove, the wealthy will always find a way to purchase tax indulgences while the other team fights to give more to the poor, and those of us caught in the middle, well...

Most of them decided to vote for Trump.

Reap what you sow, eh?

Sorry, I'm rambling.

I'm worn out.

;) :(

Infrastructure, well that's a new idea!! .the deficit is a huge problem, no doubt, it slows us down....I agree there. However, from what I am hearing, we need to bring companies back and one way to do it is with reducing their taxes...no?

Small business runs this country,( along with consumers)....give them tax breaks

As noted before in this thread, the economically illiterate think that when government confiscates the assets (Capital) of the rich, the spending they do with it is equally as productive ignoring the two facts that $.40 of every $1.00 stays in DC to fund overhead and that it tend to throw it towards inefficiencies because government never pays a price for being wrong about the "winners" they pick.

Seems it is a new idea, otherwise we'd have done it, right?

I spent the obligatory one second trying to make a point with the uber stupid botany boy about companies not paying 35 percent corporate tax rate and if they are they should fire their tax people...The problem isn't their tax burden.. American workers can't compete with slave wages. There is an incentive for them to move out of the country.. take that away. If it means things will cost more, if more of us are making a good wage that becomes less of an issue. Our tax base has been eroded with good manufacturing jobs taken away and replaced with crappy service based ones. There is more to it than just automation..

IMO, a healthy middle class is paramount.

He's trying to make a political argument about "trickle-down" economics.

Combine that with my last post and you se the fallacy that he makes.

An economy, no matter the tax structure always grows from the bottom up with buyers and sellers making individual deals for either providing or consuming goods and services. The one thing that a tax code (or administration) can do is create an environment that either fosters these transactions or retards them. Why do Liberals like to put high taxes on cigarettes? Because it decreases consumption (don't pay attention to what it does to growers ;) ;) )! What happens when you single out people with Capital? You either decrease it, or it gets hidden/sheltered. Why is private Capital so important? It promotes the very best use of limited resources and directs them to where those individual transactions occur.

Poverty can easily be created top down, we have many nations that can proved that and are currently proving it. Using wealth envy as a vehicle to target the wealthy is a top-dwon approach that actually reduces economic activity just like high tobacco taxes decrease tobacco use.

If you're going to talk about the "illiterate", you should try not being such an idiot.

Don't you work part time some where?

Funny how the deficit was so low way back when... The reagan/bush administrations started that..

That's because trickle down doesn't work and only the massively ignorant think it does...or the rich. Which one are you?

I do not begrudge the rich for their money, however it has come at the expense of the American worker. Wages have stagnated while costs have risen. As well as the income gap.

It's not that hard..

In a consumer driven economy, you have to motivate consumption.

No returns for us. My partner and I live on a small retirement income: savings and social security. We're under the poverty line but suffer no loans so we're comfy. Luxuries (and some surgeries, while uninsured) were paid from rare inheritances. Thanks for dying, Mom!

We do get an ACA-mandated refund of supplement premium overpayments. The refund goes toward home insurance. When we were working and received returns, we put them in the next year's tax account. Only prudent, hey?

As for donations, we don't await returns, refunds, or dead relatives. We choose worthy recipients and give anonymously, mostly for disaster relief. A monstrous wildfire nearby a couple years back destroyed many homes including those of firefighters. We happily contributed to rebuilding funds.

Who do you donate to?

Good for you.

Same, plus many more thank you.

I see the RWCJ has come out to suck The Don's penis.

This thread is simply a statement of what the tax plan does and what the majority and plurality of the American public think about it.

However it never ceases to amaze me what a sensitive bunch you all are and how easily triggered you all can be.

Hillary's penis has to taste pretty stale by now.

Switch to ol Bernie?

Addy, Pox and cowdung sure luv the trysail line of posting.

And Barry totally fucking blew it on the hand off. Community organizing is tough and brutal work. No appreciation.

Just curious, has Rahm lowered that murder rate?

Real life shit and not just leftist dogma can be a real motherfucker.

Um, WRONG-- is it a NEW idea if its promised, and then never gets completed?

Create a $60 billion bank to fund roads and bridges

"Will address the infrastructure challenge by creating a National Infrastructure Reinvestment Bank to expand and enhance, not supplant, existing federal transportation investments. This independent entity will be directed to invest in our nation's most challenging transportation infrastructure needs. The Bank will receive an infusion of federal money, $60 billion over 10 years, to provide financing to transportation infrastructure projects across the nation. These projects will create up to two million new direct and indirect jobs and stimulate approximately $35 billion per year in new economic activity." Barrock OBAMA

Perhaps Adrina will explain how raising one of the highest corporate tax rates in the world will make U.S. manufacturers (corporations) more competitive and will enable them to increase hiring.
How will this help the 100 million-plus investors, many of them counting on those investments for the day they retire, benefit from this higher tax?

Finally, how will giving the government even more money to spend help anyone other than government employees?

Maybe CEO bonus could be under 500 million?

Jesus Christ you guys must be a miserable lot.

It must really suck to be "YOU".

I am not the least bit miserable. In fact, I am pretty relaxed.

Thank you for your concern there Addy.

Um... I was being sarcastic, Mr YOU'RE WRONG!

Btw... You should research your replies a little before trashing Obama.
