Telling Him the Truth

When Kali asked Jared if he would be coming back, he had already decided that he would. It didn't really matter if he saw Amy or not. If he did, he could try to be civil with her, whether it was genuine or not. Maybe a "Sorry it didn't work out" or some variation of it. He just wanted it to be over with.

Jared didn't feel like cooking any supper today. If things went the way he hoped, he would be back here by mid-afternoon. Kali might offer to feed him but she hadn't done more than enough already. "How would you like to go out for supper tonight? I can be ready by six if nothing stupid happens. I'd really like it if you can join me".

Kali smiled. It surprised her that he wanted to go out with her in public. She nodded her head, "I would love to." She knew they would end up hearing rumors about them but that didn't matter to her because the two of them knew the truth. "I've got nothing going all day so I can be ready whenever you finish everything up."

Jared knew what Kali was probably thinking. The gossip mill worked overtime when a couple were breaking up. Somebody always wanted to point fingers at the "other woman" who caused the breakup. In the case of Jared and Amy, they might point fingers at the "other man", whoever he is. As far as Jared was concerned, Amy's loverboy was irrelevant. Amy could have broke it off with him, or she could have broke it off with Jared. She did neither, and she was probably lying to both of them. It would be easy to hate her.

"I hope to get this over with ASAP, Kali. Then we can decide where we want to go". He wasn't asking Kali out to help celebrate the breakup. Anyone who would believe that didn't know him or Kali. Jared preferred to see this Sunday as a new beginning.

Kali smiled at him. "Sounds good to me." She knew that it wouldn't be mess free. Amy would be sure of that. She felt for Jared. The amount of things that were Amy's currently in his apartment was huge. She looked at him as she set her empty cup on the coffee table. "You know, I could get used to this...." she indicated around them. "you being the first thing I see when I wake up...... starts my day off right." she stood up and took their cups to the kitchen, rinsing them before returning to stand behind the couch. She wrapped her arms loosly around his shoulders/neck, "Now you should go, so you can get back here faster." she kissed his cheak softly and smiled.

Reluctantly, Jared rose to his feet and prepared to deal with his unfinished business. He wished that Amy would just leave quietly without any drama, but that wouldn't be Amy. She could never admit to herself that she had blown it. There would probably be tears and screaming and denial. It wouldn't make any difference; it was too late to turn around.

He took Kali into his arms for an affectionate hug before he headed out the door. "I'm going to take care of business. If she can't get all of her stuff out today, I may have to ask you to put me up for another night." Who was he kidding? There was nothing he wanted more than to spend the night with Kali.

Kali wrapped her arms around his neck to hug him back, "I think I could be ok with you staying with me another night." she winked at him playfully. "I'' be here." she walked in to the door and said goodbye before closing it and heading to shower. The entire time she couldn't get her thoughts off of Jared. Her body burned to feel him touch her again....to be close to him again.... God, how was she going to get thru the entire day now?!

The apartment that Amy and Jared shared was about a twenty minute drive from Kali's. Having lived there for a year before he met Amy, his name was on the lease. The furnishings were his also; he tried to remember where Amy had lived before she moved in with him. She had more dresses than he could count, and each dress had a handbag and heels to match. Her wardrobe had only gotten bigger after she moved into Jared's spacious apartment. She didn't even have a dresser or a bed. Still, she would have no trouble finding someone to put her up for a few days. Maybe her new "friend" would put her up. He just didn't care.

When he got to his apartment building, he was surprised to see the panel truck parked by the door. It belonged to the real estate firm where Amy worked. Two men were carrying boxes out and sliding them through the rear doors, then going back in for more. Following them inside, he discovered that they were going right to his apartment.

As soon as Amy spotted Jared in the hall, she went ballistic on him. He was able to block the first punch she aimed at him which only infuriated her more. Her usually beautiful face had turned into a mask of hatred as she spat out epithets in his face. "How could you do this to me?" she screamed at him. "How can you be so hateful?" One of the workers finally restrained her until she finally calmed down a little. The other tenants were out in the hall wondering where all the profanity-laced rants were coming from.

When Amy had finally worn herself out, she collapsed against the wall as she sobbed almost uncontrollably. He was tempted to go over to her and comfort her, but he couldn't do it. It almost had to end like this. If not now, it would just be delayed. "You did it to yourself, Amy. And you didn't even have the decency to tell me about him. I could never trust you again. I'm going to shower and change clothes then I'll pack a duffel to take with me. I won't be back until after work tomorrow." Amy looked up at him briefly, then looked back down into her lap. The grim reality was slowly sinking in. It was over.

Jared slowly turned and started to walk away. He wished that it could have been different, that they could have made their goodbyes graciously. He would have liked to have the memory of a goodbye hug where they would both wish each other the best. It was not to be. As he drove away from the building, the tears that he had been holding back started to break through. Unable to see, he pulled over until the painful sobs relented. Reaching into his duffel, he wiped away any remnants of tears from his face and checked the mirror. Kali would notice that his eyes were red. He was usually able to keep his emotions under control. Pulling back onto the boulevard he drove back to Kali's. He sat in his car for a few minutes in order to regain his composure before knocking on her door. A check of his watch showed 1:42 PM.

Kali had finished showering and gotten dressed focusing on her normal routine. She tried not to think about Jared or count the minutes until her got back to her place. As she washed the few dishes in the kitchen sink she saw him pull up. She dried we hands and noticed that he didn't get right out. She smiled and let him come to the door when he was ready. She opened the front door and walked back to the living room. She knew the situation would have been really hard on him and he needed time to let his heart heal. She would give him that time. She turned when se heard him come inside. She gave him a soft smile an simply walked over and wrapped her arms around him gently. She could tell he had cried bit she would bring it up. "I'm glad your back." Was all she said. She took his duffel bag from him and carried it to the bedroom giving him time to adjust.

Jared would tell Kali about the debacle at the apartment later. He wanted to find something to take his mind off it. Kali had taken his hastily-packed duffel into the bedroom. He hadn't taken the time to shower at his place; he just wanted to get away. But a shower would feel good now. The hot water would relax him and take away the tension that lingered from his confrontation with Amy.

"Can you bring my toilet kit out to me, Kali? A shower would do me a lot of good right now". She came back out with the kit and led him to the shower. She pulled out a bath towel and handed it to him. As she turned to leave, he pulled off his jersey and jeans, then kicked off his sneakers. As he stepped out of his boxerbriefs, he never looked back to the door. Jared started the shower and turned it up as hot as he could stand it. The hot jets of water started to work the tension out of his body.

Kali brought him his bathroom kit and smiled as she pulled a towel out for him. "I'm sure a shower will make you feel much better." She turned to pull the door closed behind her and couldn't help but to notice his body as he stripped his clothes off. As he got to his boxer briefs she quickly turned and walked into the bedroom. Her mouth was dry and she couldn't help but think about his amazing body.

The shower was working it's magic. Jared would soap up then let the hot water rinse it off him. He was using his favorite Old Spice body wash; it felt good and it smelled good. After drying off, he wrapped the towel around his waist, brushed and shaved, then strolled back into the living room. Where did Kali go?

She had just pulled laundry out of the dryer an came around the corner when she spotted him. "Hey you, feeling better now?" She could see the obvious change and it made her smile. As she walked past him with the laundry basket she playfully sniffed him, "mmmm you smell pretty dang good to me." She laughed playfully as she walked to the bedroom.

How could any man resist this beautiful woman? How could she possibly know what he needs right now? There is no good answer. She just knows. She kinows when to hold him against her and she knows when to step away when he needs space. Jared had never known anything like it.

"I really should get dressed", he thought to himself. Being almost naked with a hot woman just a few feet away was pretty stimulating. Kali was putting laundry away in the bedroom when he came in for his duffel. Jared stepped behind her and wrapped his arms around her slender waist and pulled her tight against his body.

She felt his strong arms Wrap around her and she leaned back against him. "I could get used to that." She smiled over her shoulder at him.

Everything just felt like it was finally falling into place. She looked over her should at him and kissed him lightly on the cheek. She put her hands on top of his holding them in place as they stood in her bedroom.

Jared could feel his heart racing in his chest as he held her supple body against his own. Kali was only slightly shorter than he was and they seemed to fit together perfectly. This relationship had developed so fast that it almost made him dizzy. He buried his face in her hair, inhaling the clean fresh scent of her shampoo. His right hand slipped under Kali's top and caressed the firm yet soft flesh of her abdomen. Nuzzling into her neck, he kissed her jawline, then moved to capture her soft lips in his.

When she felt his hands on her skin of her abdoman she smiled and leaned against him. The his lips touched her neck and she let out a soft groan. The kiss on her lips made her smile. "Isit weird how much I missed you when you were gone?" She turned and kissed his lips again, with a little more passion this time.

Jared wrapped Kali in his arms as he lost himself in her sweet kiss. It started gently but became more heated as he felt her body molded to his. Jared's brain was telling him that things were moving too fast, but he wasn't listening. Kali's arms were around his neck while his ran up and down her back. He could feel her soft breasts pressing on his chest and he knew he wanted her. He knew that she could feel his rising cock against her abdomen but she didn't pull away. Jared let his hand drop to her firm ass as the heated kiss continued. Damn, she feels good!

Kali's brain was going a billion miles a minute. It was telling her to keep going.. Then it would tell her to slow down.. She felt his hands on her ass and his bare skin of his upper body pressed against her. She lost herself in the kiss and when it broke tey were both breathless. She smiled at him. "Wow." She let her forehead press against his.

Kali's kiss was arousing, and her body seemed to fit his perfectly. Jared had wondered what kind of lover she might be but until now it had only been conjecture. He had not expected that he would ever find out when he was with Amy. But the times had changed and he now found her in his arms in her bedroom. Neither of them were wearing much. All he had on was a towel which was loosely tied around his waist. Kali's warm body was still pressed against his after the kiss had been broken. Their relationship had developed so quickly. Was it too soon to be feeling this way?

Kali smiled at him as the blood started to return to their brains. "Is this happening too fast?" She looked into his eyes. She saw the desire mirrored in his. She didn't want either of them to have regrets. She kissed his lips lightly now. She let her hands trail down his chest and stomach.

He didn't want to screw this up because he wanted her this badly. He didn't know if she would feel the same way about him if they ended up in bed. Kali was not a girl who jumped from bed to bed; he would not expect her to spread her legs for somebody that wasn't that special. But Jared would not make love to any girl who wasn't that special either. He was having a hard time thinking about anything otheer than those soft hands that were caressing the bare skin of his abdomen. They had stopped to lightly pinch his nipples on the way down and they were now just above his towel. His cock was engorged and it was pushing hard against the front of the towel. "Damn" he thought to himself, "this girl is too hot to resist".

Her heart rate had increased and her fingers were lightly resting at the waist of his towel. She smiled at him. There was something telling her this wasn't just some rebound for Jared either... He meant too much for her to jump right into bed with him. "Jared... There are so many things I would love to do with you...." She leaned in and kissed his lips again.

As much as he wanted her, Jared just didn't think the time was right. His swollen cock did not agree with him. There were still some issues to be dealt with. He was still trying to get his head around the events of the last two days. Kali had been a godsend for him, and he could never repay her. He would resist the temptation to make love to her. For now. The right time would come and they would both know it.

She could feel his body shaking and knew he was fighting the same internal battle. She pulled her face away from his breathless and smiled at him. "I think you need to get some clothes on or I'm going to lose it." She kissed his lips lightly an took a few steps to put a little distance between them. She couldn't help but to look at his body. It was enough to know that he wanted her a badly as she wanted him.

Jared pulled out a pair of jeans and a jersey from his duffelbag. With his back turned to Kali, he dropped his towel to the floor. He didn't know if she was watching or not. When he tried to pull up his boxerbriefs he had to tuck his still firm cock away before he could think about putting his jeans on. If he had any question about Kali being able to turn him on, it had been answered. But he wanted the timing to be right. For both of them.

When he was finally dressed he saw that Kali was in the living room. She had the Cardinals football game on and she was curled up comfortably on the couch. Jared sat next to her with his hand resting on her knee. They cheered together every time the Cardinals made a big play and they groaned together when they threw an interception. He was amazed at how fast she was making him forget about Amy.
