ok..fellow Houstonians...The Area between Westpark and Westheimer... on the west side of Beltway 8....is it safe?

Is not "quite" Alief.. which I hear is ghetto.. :( but I'm having a hard time finding AFFORDABLE housing...

I lived in Alief in the early 80's . . it was ok then - but I know neighborhoods change. Is that side of town convenient for work?
 
yes.. Very convenient. .like a toll a hwy and BAM..work. lol :D

My biggest concern is the school system. And I don't exactly have a concealed carry. ..been meaning to get one. . Didn't want to have to get one. :rolleyes:

ah ha... have friends up in the tomball area - worked a few years ago down in Stafford area . but that sounds too far for what you need.

Not necessarily. Currently near Missouri City, I've looked at Stafford. I had *wanted* to stay in the Fort Bend ISD... But they rape you in housing costs...:(

Sorry but I am further North, hwy 6/290 area. Have you thought about going that far north?

Get into Cy-Fair ISD.

that's Def too far north. I work near 59/6 so I think 290/six would be Haul?

I may look in Stafford again. I just not sure about Alief isd..:(
I wouldn't be *living* tthere, but the kids would have to deal. .

Hello RA, sorry I hadn't seen this sooner. Lit was acting up yesterday and could not get on. I think that area is not bad but of course there are going to be incidents even in the nicest of neighborhoods. I would suggest driving around the area you are possibly looking at moving to and do some observations of the buildings and people walking around.

You can also look at crime stats on this website, but it will probably make you not want to live anywhere in Houston. Like I said, there will be incidents anywhere.

I found another I'm going to look at that's more Missouri City/Stafford.. Hopefully it's not income restricted..(which, btw, I think is the most ridiculous thing EVER..and it really pissed me off this week.. :mad:)...

I have a friend she the lease manager of couple apartment complexes in pearland.
I don't know if that's near you are not.

Call me a snob but I don't want to live where it is income restricted anyway. :D

Find a location and give it the eye-test. It is passes then go for it.
