Its a nice area...Im north of the Red River but am in DFW area a lot and lots of fun things to do, great places to eat, etc. Am always there for OU- Tx game in October! ha

Same question, poetic. I just moved away after living there 14 years. *edit * oops, I remember now! Lots of interesting eclectic neighborhoods, restaurants, etc. where you'll be. Hermann Park, downtown, the sports venues, museums, world class opera, theater & symphony. Not to mention shopping! (Galleria, Uptown, or funky east Westheimer) Go south to NASA and Galveston, go north to The Woodlands. Go waaay west to Austin & San Antonio, or come up to the Metroplex. Anything from luxury resorts to tubing on the Guadalupe River (You may want to find that early on, since you'll hit town in the summer!) Just about anything you want to do, you can do in Texas!

And same comment, okatty35! It was freakin' AUGUST when I moved there from the desert! Talk about a shock. But fall is great. And wearing shorts & flip-flops at Christmas has a certain charm.
