Thank you 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

I'll keep my fingers crossed it get's around to my stories . I did point Manu and Laurel to one I know has 20% of the votes were 1's, mostly arriving together in the middle of the night a few weeks ago, when a number of my stories were attacked (none of which were cleaned up in the subsequent sweeps).
Thank you for validating the sweep-poof aspect of my experience. I never thought it was just me.

Oh, and at @MelissaBaby’s suggestion, I also tried again via the BlueSky route. When I tried repeatedly there earlier in the year, the Literotica account was basically dormant. It’s now active again.

Whether or not this helped 🤷‍♀️? But worth a try.

I asked for a sweep twice here and got no reply. I tried on Bluesky and got it. Think about it, her inbox on Lit must be backed up hundreds of messages all the time. When will my story be published? What does Pending mean? Is this content OK? and on and on. On the Socials sites, she probably gets a tiny faction as much traffic.

I did try that route before, but it’s only recently that the Lit BS account has come back to life. I agree it’s worth a shot, and thanks for the suggestion.

I don't know this for a fact, but I suspect a reason that it takes a while for the Site to respond to an author's request to investigate and sweep is that the Site doesn't want sweeps to be something done in response to individual requests, but instead done for the benefit of everyone on a regular schedule. That makes sense. It wouldn't be fair for the Site to use sweeps to favor individual authors.

I'm going to check my scores and see if these sweeps had any effect. I doubt it, but I'll report if they do.

Congrats @EmilyMiller and thank you for keeping at it til it gone done! And huge kudos to @MelissaBaby for helping! What a lovely Hallmark story this turned out to be!

You are probably right when you thank your troll. 17 attacks in one day is hard to ignore by the site and easy to detect by any system. We can hope that the system learned something and that improves things.

As far as I can tell, nothing has changed with the scores or votes on any of my stories. Still have the four or five that hover just under 4.5. But to be honest, those would be the only ones I'd have anyway of knowing if they had changed, and only because they bounce between the H and out of it... Scores aren't that important to me to keep track of them on even a weekly or monthly basis.

I haven't noticed any significant swings in my story scores yet, by then I don't think I've been the target of any focussed downvoting efforts 🤷🏼

I'm happy that the non-organic one-stars are getting dealt with! But I don't think it addresses the underlying weakness of the 5-star system, and I would still like to see Lit consider something different, like a Recommendations-to-Reads Ratio or something similar!

A supplemental thumbs-up/thumbs-down vote would also help. That would be a secondary vote, showing a percentage of readers who enjoyed it or didn't. The five-star system here, or the ten-point vote system on another site, is equally flawed because readers (mostly writers) with multiple accounts can manipulate votes. The other site only allows paid account members to vote on contests, and writers' pens are hidden until the voting is done and the winners are announced. I prefer challenges to competitions. I don't want to tie my hopes of winning in competitive events to writing for free sites. Unlike some here and other places, I don't think, believe, or operate as if writing is a competition with anyone but myself. Have I been downvoted? Well, yes, I've written stories that people hated so much they made an organized effort to drive my score down. That doesn't bother me. The nasty comments about me as a human are the only things that get under my skin.

Any scoring system is susceptible to abuse.

Therefore, I don't worry about scores.

I’ve spoken to a few authors who had mild positive swings in their stories. Perhaps as they had been targeted in the same manner as I have been. But others have seen no change. It seems like this was a precision operation focused on a particular type of troll voting, rather than a general sweep.

But hope is that they add whatever they did to the sweep arsenal and do it regularly. That would make a big difference.

So, inevitably, it’s starting again 🤣.

I was wholly aware that posting this thread would attract the slimeball’s attention. But it was the right thing to do.

If I publicly call out the site for not acting, I’m gonna shout out the site when they do. And people need to know what’s going on.

On my seven stories today, post site action:

4 x 3⭐️ - maybe the troll thinks he is being subtle 🤣

1 x 1⭐️ - how old skool 🙄

No other votes.

Dear troll,

The thing is, everyone (including @Laurel and @Manu) now knows what you are doing and why.

And I know the real worth of my work.

Your pettiness can’t change either of those facts. You’re just looking ridiculous and futile.

I’ll leave it for a while and then ask for another mini-sweep and all your masturbatory efforts will have been wasted yet again.

Dude, you lost. Suck it up 🤣.

Emily

@EmilyMiller, don't get upset or take this the wrong way, but you need to let this obession go. For your own peace of mind, stop checking scores so often. Write, read, and ignore your account for a few days, weeks, or a year, maybe.
I totally disagree - I’d never have had the site take this seriously unless I had tracked the activity. Evidence is acted on.

I’m gong to track these seven stories every day until the troll gives up. And I’m going to periodically produce a detailed schedule of what they have done. It’s not like it’s a lot of work. It just took me two minutes to update my spreadsheet.

I got justice by being details-focused, I’m a details kinda gal. I’m totally happy to keep tracking this. And I’m convinced now that my efforts will help everyone.

So, thanks for the advice, but I’m gonna keep doing what has worked so far.

Don’t worry, I’m not going to post daily updates here. But it’s obvious that my troll reads AH. Now they know that whatever they do will be documented and their efforts will be for nothing, again.

That’s worth two minutes work each day 😊.

Telling an autistic person to not sweat the little things? Yeah that’s gonna work 🤣

The probably didn't act on your evidence. They probably just decided to run a sweep and it happened to coincide with your thread. There have been numerous threads posting troll data over the past weeks/months. There was a big one just a couple of weeks ago. Plus the sweeps began before you messaged the admin.

Emily's point is that it cleared a huge number of votes not cleaned by the normal sweeps. Maybe this is a new form of sweep they are testing. It does seem to have been limited in scope, so I tend to believe they did look specifically at some people's stories, including Emily's.

The whole locked thread was you complaining about the site not acting... but now you are saying "evidence is acted upon"?

It's not limited in scope. This was a massive site wide sweep.
