I've been watching a lot of That 70's Show on Netflix lately, and I keep thinking it would be fun to do a similar RP, maybe based around the character's children as young adults? I would play the son of Eric and Donna Forman, who is just turning eighteen as the RP opens. We can set this around early November and have the characters be seniors in high school or something.
When the show ended on December 31st, 1979, Eric and Donna got back together again, but we could say it still took them a few years to get married. Still, even with that, if we based the RP in 2014, I don't think any of their kids would still be teenagers, since there would be a 34 year gap between the end of the show and the start of the RP, so we would have to kick the setting back a few years. If Eric and Donna are married and have my character by around 1985, then he would be turning eighteen in 2003. So, we could potentially set the story in that year.
The other idea I had is that we actually play the same characters from the show, but we bring the story up to modern day, an alternate reality of sorts. In that case, I would play Eric Forman as a computer and video game geek. What do you think?
