The middle child was playing a sonic game with this weird floating thing in the sky that was big and ominous but wasn't actually doing anything until attacked.

So of course I immediately had a scene running through my head of a hero trying to get support to fight the scary ominous thing in the sky! While the town folks are just all like, "Why? It's not doing anything but float there." "Might be nothing more than a sweetheart for all we know." "Yeah, and if you go attacking it like a dumbass you're likely to piss it off and get it attacking." "Or worse yet hurt the poor dear's feeling and have it lash out."

But the hero would continue to freak out because it's big and black and covered in malevolent red eyes, so obviously it's evil.

And all the townsfolk be like, "But it ain't harmed us none." "Stop letting your prejudice rule you man."

It seems funny, and like something someone would have fun with. But I can't see myself taking it anywhere. Like, what is the big ominous thing floating in the sky? Would the hero find a way to attack it against all advice? What would happen if he did? How could sex even be worked into this? Should sex even be worked into this?

I think it'd be great if it was a big scary monster, but is really super nice and lonely, and has always wanted to go down and meet the humans. But every time it does, some jerk-off knight tries to kill it. Maybe this knight, who makes it his mission, finally comes face to face, and is about to strike it down when it starts crying about how nobody loves it. The knight is taken aback, gets to talk to it, and convinces it to go down and meet the villagers.

At which point, you either have:
A) The villagers are all really nice, and it strikes up friendships with them. Maybe helps protect the town. Could introduce sex.
B) It's a trap! It just wanted the people to feel safe so it could go around and eat and/or fuck as many things as possible.
C) It's half a trap, it really doesn't mean to hurt anyone, but the scent of human is so alluring that it can't help but try to fuck all of them. Maybe its parents and kind told it to never go near humans, but never said why, and this is the reason.

A is my favorite, but my brain screams make it erotic horror 😆

The easiest way would be for the thing to be having a psychic effect on the town. For example: after it starts floating up there, people become a bit more randy and easily aroused. Townsfolk don’t mind: a little extra rolling in the hay never hurt anyone. Besides, it’s summer and the thing is making nice spots of shade…which is perfect for an outdoor picnic fuck.

Course the hero is horrified and it is a bit suspicious that it’s making them all get horny. He keeps trying to warn the. But the town sees no harm and chastises the hero.

Hero can’t take it anymore and attacks the thing. It starts to bleed and a most horrible noise is heard from inside of it. It then turns out it’s a chrysalis which a lesser god enters before they become a new member of the Pantheon.

The new greater god emerges, ready to lead
Its faithful town in a welcoming ritual and orgy while the man must beg for forgiveness

They create a little hamlet on the edge of town for couples that are having trouble conceiving. It becomes a retreat for rich people, pulling in money for the village, everyone lives happily ever after.
