Thatcher is dead.

Child-killers generally do less damage in the world. Scope of opportunity, you know.

Not that much bile for the Philpott. A few locals banged on his van and he'll soon settle down for a cushy life soon enough and be out in 15 years time despite killing six of his own. No doubt he'll write a book about it and become a new darling of the left.

I don't know though. Blair was a nasty self serving politician and a child killer if we remember those Iraqi kids murdered in the name of the Liabour Party. Never any bile for him though is there? The Liabour lot are a close knit bunch who don't call their own they just save it for the bogey'woman' Thatcher.

We're not all the same!

The fact is Socialism in Britain failed, the good lady pointed it out in no uncertain terms, and then took actions to save her countrymen from the consequences of their own stupidity before they were able to totally destroy the nation. You unappreciative bastards ought to be thankful she came along when she did.

Please do not assume that the rabid rantings of some of the people on here are indicative of the views of the average person in the UK.

There is a widespread view that Margaret Thatcher achieved a tremendous amount, albeit at a significant cost. The reality, which none of the Left ever consider, is that the long established heavy industries, whether steel, coal mining or ship-building would have failed in the longer term anyway. Labour costs would always be cheaper in the Third World. The reluctance of the Trade Unions to accept modernisation/automation which might have offset, at least in part, the lower labour costs exacerbated their demise.

How much easier it is to blame Margaret Thatcher.

LMAO. Seriously?

Were you just as angry when Myra Hindley died? Of course not, she was only a child-killer!

Were you this supportive of Benito Mussolini? After all, he revolutionised his country's infrastructure.

she affected millions of people badly, really badly. she dismantled communities, dissolved industries, installed the 'loadsamoney' culture of her time in office.

philpott is universally hated, but his affect on people comes under a far smaller umbrella. he didn't sell everything the nation held as its assets into private hands that grabbed and grabbed and grabbed.

and if you don't think blair is reviled by sean and many others here - well, you must be fucking blind.

Most of us comprehend that. It is well known that there are always a small number of delusional economic illiterates with no grasp of reality and no desire to adapt.

It is the same group of magical thinkers who are likely to believe in all sorts of fantastic schemes. They are professional whingers. I've seen it many times in dying industries with unionized labour. You could tell 'em the earth revolves around the sun a thousand times and they still won't believe it.

I suspect it was very half hearted attempt. He's a Labour man. You only hate the tories no matter what.

Yes, labour costs are cheaper in the third world, but we import most of our steel, for example, from Europe. And I remember a conversation amongst the older members of the accountancy practice at which I worked in the late 80s discussing the fact that these countries' governments subsidised production so tht they only appeared to be cheaper.

You will note that I am not ranting. I do not vote Labour or Liberal as i think they all tell lies.Neither am I work shy, having run my own business, employing staff and paying taxes for fifteen years. I do not riot and I also wash daily.

And I still think she was wrong.

Either after the Falklands or the breaking of the strike she said something about the country not being at peace. I think that pretty much sums it up. She failed to put in place a "post-conflict" reconstruction plan. It wasn't just the mining industry that suffered. No mines, no need for mining machinery. Therefore no need for steel. No money for miners to buy cars or beer. The knock-on destroyed every aspect of British employment.

Ha ha go on then idiot. Its an internet forum. Fucking hell lol!

clearly. i don't need that pointing out to me since i am both reasonably intelligent and lucid. the fact that this is an internet forum only prevents me from acting on the daydream, not from entertaining it.

the fact that you felt the need to point it out to a rational adult on here is rather sad. you go right ahead being a bumblewit.

no desire to adapt? that sums up the thinking of thatcher - don't adapt just destroy!

so coal was a dying industry? steel? welfare? housing? education?

indeed there does appear to be a delusional group of posters on here - they seem to be supporting thatcher, and in many cases I doubt they experienced the destruction she brought.
