Most firms will give you time off for a funeral if a close family memeber dies. I have no objection to Mark and Carol Thatcher being given a day off.

Thatcher was a nasty piece of work, but she was just a puppet and she realised it in the end. That's why she was ousted.

I have no respect or care for the woman, but I struggle with celebrating her death. Not least because I think it rather foolish to celebrate a death when that death came aged 87 at the Ritz - pretty cushy end for a horrible pig still getting access to the trough.

Wasn't she the first elected female head of government of a major world democracy, at least who did it on her own merits without being married to a previous leader? I suppose if you consider Israel a democracy, Golda Meir, but other than that, and not in Europe.

In fact, how many women leaders are there TODAY in the world and how many get re-elected more than once? Even our great female hope, Ms. Clinton, is only known because of who she was married to. Thatcher did it all on her own in a time when there was a lot more hostility to women leaders.
