The 2026 [lit] 750 Word Project Support Thread

So my first one, which I liked better, did not do so well. My second one, which I almost deleted but published at the last minute, has done better. Go figure.

Yep. I wrote a teacher/student story 2 years ago that they loved. I write a Lunar New Year story every year that they hate
This year they hate the teacher/student story and love the lunar new year story. I gave up trying to understand a long long time ago.

Anytime I need a good laugh, @Duleigh, you come through with shining colors.

Hi, I'm just wondering if there is a criteria you need to meet to be included in the full list of stories other than having your story published?
I thought I'd followed all of the instructions correctly when my submission was accepted in February and published on 25th but I can't see it on today's list. Perhaps I missed something. :)

Mine is missing too.
The only thing I noticed about your story and mine is that when we copied in the header line about it being part of the 2026 750 Word Challenge it didn't copy in as a link, which is what I think it was supposed to be. This doesn't seem to have caused it to be rejected for publication, but perhaps whatever they do to collate the entries later needs that to be in place.
Just a guess.

My very last one appeared today and it looks like it's doing well, currently scoring 4.4 in LW. For someone that's not been too well with a brain that's not been functioning @100%, these short pieces have been a godsend for me to write and publish. I had to abandon my Valentine's effort a fair way down the rabbit hole towards completion, but there's a positive... It's started nice and early now for next year's compo:D
AI Oh Dear!

If short form stories are your thing, you don't have to wait for February. You can submit a 750 word long story any time you want. Or, you may want to write a short story, then later come back to it and add some to it, filling it out and dressing it up. I did that with 750-03 Saturday Evening which is now a novel.

Apparently there's a LOT of stories missing. If you added 750 WORD PROJECT to the notes to admin, it should be there. If your story is not on the list go to:

Start conversation - Literotica Discussion Board

For good measure you may want to add Manu to the recipients. Let them know your story's name, when you submitted it, and assure them that all instructions were followed.

You know, I was about to ask because Silhouette is missing too, and I thought it had to do with the numbers.

I'll be writing the DM now.

E: Done. I'll wait now. Maybe write something in the meantime.

I'd thought about entering this contest but I didn't have any good ideas for a 750-word story -- until today, when I had a great idea -- and I'm one day late for meeting the deadline. Nuts. On the other hand, if the reports are true of a lot of submitted stories missing from the contest, maybe it's a good thing I didn't get mixed up in this one.

You can write and submit a 750 any time you want. The reception is similar IME.

A lot of people do that, but I like to hold on to them until February. So far, all of my 750-word stories have been published during the project. Also, all of my February stories have been 750 words. This year, I even pulled a Pending story back to drafts at the end of January and resubmitted it at the end of February to maintain that track record.

I suspect that I'll continue that until I write a 750-word story that fits a non-February contest theme…

Remember it's just a challenge and you can always submit a 750 word (flash fiction) story. IMHO, go ahead and post it - you don't need a challenge in order to do it.

So I sent the message as suggested by Duleigh and it was added and a reply sent back to me.

The list seems to have stabilised, maybe another couple may creep in over the next couple days.

222 stories from 125 authors (meaning a pile of folks did multiples, many with five or more, one obsessed writer with over two dozen.)

166,500 word's-worth of super-succinct writing. Start your reading now, let us know when you're done.

Where is the list located? I read back a few pages in this thread [and the first page] but can't find it.

My stories are missing from the list too lol. Doesn't matter to me, no one needs to go to any special trouble, but it does seem like something has gone wrong somewhere.
