The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Good morning and thanks to all for the warm birthday wishes!

I have been waking up at 2 or 3 and my mind is active keeping me awake. But I say a mantra out loud that helps distract my mind enough I fall asleep.
I have a chant I repeat in my mind. The distraction is what helps quiet the mind and my dog would wake up if i did it out loud too!

Good morning OM and SubD. Have a good day.

It’s not as cold with the winds less wicked. Today I get belated BD breakfast and then a new dryer is installed.

When I was at my PT workout room they had the news rolling with a guy standing on the banks of Lake Erie and the wind and snow was so strong. The lake was choppy like an ocean! It looked crazy. A sight that I haven't seen.

When the winds get strong along the Great Lakes this time of year, the weather gets ugly and fierce with so much snow and whiteout conditions. It’s a good time of year to be in Florida.

What????
Apparently I'm in the wrong business. We helped a neighbor take down ten 70 foot tall maples with a tractor, chainsaw, and cable. I think he bought us lunch...
That’s my reaction too. He’s charging way too much, Altho some of it regional.

We had a quiet for taking down a giant silver maple (I mean huge) that was a little more than that.

I’d get a few more quotes, @Lilianna23

Surprised you didn’t get snow days as a kid. Especially in the UP. Surprising.

Snow days were the best when we were kids. Listening to WOR radio for whether school was open, closed or a delayed opening.
We had a few, but nothing like now.

I think something about how School days are counted by the state changed, so the school isn't penalized financially for snow days. So they lay them down pretty heavy now.

It depends how close the houses are. I had a friend drop a tree and the wind took it the wrong way and I did too. I have seen trees lifted up with a crane because of being close to a house or you can climb them...................and on and on.

I have never seen it but the lakes can get very stormy.
Friend of mine lives in northern Wisconsin, maybe two hrs south of Duluth. It was May, we went up to Lake Superior to do some boating and fishing!- I had never been there before.

70 and nice where he lived. By the time we got to Duluth, it was 45, winds were whipping at like 30mph.

We went to a few bars instead.

What is it lately. Woke up here at 3:30, been awake since! Not feeling a workout, so just laying here trying to rest...
Methinks you are all a bad influence somehow! 😆
I would def blame us!!

I had been pretty good about sleeping and sleeping routine for quite a while.

Actually, going on the phone is the worst thing you can do, but I did it anyway. I think “they say” that you should be off your phone for something like an hour before bedtime.

I did finally fall asleep and got a couple of hours in.

Here are my sleep tips:
If you ever wake up, try going to the bathroom.

Try not to use your phone.

If you wake up and cannot go back to sleep, try deep, breathing exercise exercises, and relaxing, and envisioning calm sleep.

This one might be controversial, but I tend to go to sleep with light, chill music playing on my phone. It has an automatic timer and stops after an hour.

It’s lit, so masturbating and having an orgasm can help you relax.

It’s easy to go to
A bad place we are awake in the middle of the night. Try to think of something pleasant to distract your mind.

All good suggestions. I adhere to the phone (for the most part). Lighting color temperature (2700K to 3000K) in the bedroom and evening lights.

Dog wakes up needing to go out, and that doesn't help the sleep schedule. But she's OLD, so can't blame her...

Think this morning is related to the last round of allergy exposures, or a bug of some sort. Was NOT feeling good when I woke up. Some mornings it's just being awake, but this was def something different...
