The landlady has a pond out behind the house. There is one (or maybe it's more - who can tell?) blue heron who comes to fish sometimes. When she got in this afternoon, she looked about back and there he was. She said he looked taller today. That's because there was a layer of ice on the pond and he was standing on the pond and not in it. He stayed there for awhile apparently.


Now, the fish should be burrowed in the mud and dormant. But I wonder, what if a Mocking Fish had swum up under the heron below the ice and said, "eat me now, bitch!!!"

$#!@!!! This chill is not going away. Think I picked up a bug of some sort over Thanksgiving...

I went through a period a few years ago when I was unable to regulate my body temperature. I was cold all the time. I found wearing a scarf around my neck and a light hat (like a slouch hat) really helped.
