Ive actually saw horses bring a keg to a pub. Absolutely stunning.

Had a good weekend.

Yesterday - got my taxes done. I owe a bit.

Then drove up to my sisters. Had a hillarious time w her. We took her out for her b-day. So fun. Watched a bunch of old bugs bunny cartoons.

had a nice drive on the back roads home. Got home at 1 and got in a full day of farm work. Cleared the trail where a big tree came down and then split firewood then did some cleanup in the old mill.

Worked till 6!

Love the longer daze!!!!

Jeeze! You get more done in a day than I do in a month! Can you please bottle some of that energy for me???

I should clarify, by "main battery", I mean the one under the hood; the same battery that all cars hold. I've had to change that one a few times, partly due to normal battery life and also for an electric short issue.

The " hybrid battery" is the set of batteries that run the electric system, when we're not on gas/petrol. THAT battery is still original. (edit to add: the hybrid battery is under the mat in the rear storage compartment)

I've been impressed by the Gen 1 Ford Escape hybrid.

My hybrid batteries are under the floor of the hatch. The "main battery" isn't under the hood as usual. It's under the back seat. You have to take out the hatch floor AND the back seat to reach it. Which is why I had to take it to the dealership to have it changed out when it wasn't holding a charge. I tried tire stores like Les Schwab; they wouldn't touch it because it's a hybrid.

Here it is just after 2100 on a rainy, cold, Spring-forward Sunday evening. I've been kind of sleepy most of the day. Consequently, I didn't get that much done. I DID get caught up here, however!

I haven't eaten processed cereals since I was a kid. I'm fairly certain the processing is MUCH different now than it was 50 or so years ago. If I eat grains now, it's things like brown rice amaranth, and quinoa.

I still eat some processed foods, but I try to be selective about it. Chocolate is my downfall!

I amuse myself that oats are still made the same ol' way.


They may not be.


I may start buying horse oats from the Amish and cooking those.

That's the way to do it! I hate to pay, but after my (still unresolved) 2023 taxes, I think I'll start calculating how I can have a minimal amount to pay.

Yesterday, I got a missive from the IRS wanting a copy of my husband's death certificate in order to claim the refund from 2023. This is AFTER I have made monthly phone calls to them since December. They couldn't have asked the first time???

I changed the burned out lightbulb on my front porch yesterday. I had to climb onto a chair to reach it but I got it done! I'm ridiculously proud of myself!

They do, at a basic change-the-oil level. They also work them. Horses wear out. Those are the ones we see. Like Boxer on Animal Farm.

My mom was an SCAer. She didn't ride horses (that I know of) but was fully into the dressing, tents, and camping. She made her own tent. I was mostly glad she had something she liked to do to occupy her time. However, I was pretty mad at her when I found out she was camping during thunderstorms. She lived in Missouri. 🌪
