Well, that just sucks monkey nuts.


Mine would tell me wrong things. She'd get a notion and say it like it was so and I'd find out later it wasn't. Both parents, really. Like when they mispronounced "orgy" and I got laughed at at school and didn't know I should have worn the main perp out. It wasn't out of malice on their parts, but how could a child tell the difference?

One question... Why were they teaching you "orgy???"

I am not as fortunate.
My oldest sister is disabled and my twin says she will help but when I rope her in I can't trust that she will..

Example:

Me--"van you go over (15 minutes away) and vacumn moms kitchen floor and tidy up... I will go over Wednesday and do the rest"

Her--"sure no problem"

I go Wednesday and do it all

Next time she asks you for help, say "sure!" then don't show.

Started the baby aspirin (now know as low dose) regimen a couple or three days ago. The diet is pretty much on par. I’m watching what I eat more and more. Weeks at home are no problem. SWhoMBO has had us on organic, low fat, blah blah blah, for years. It’s just when I’m on the road those weeks, where it all falls apart. So half the year…good….half …bad. Exercise? Same.

Thanks for the gouge on the Statins. I think I’m just going to have to have a come-to-Jesus moment and accept that I need to get on these things

Made a fantastic Skillet Taco Pie for the tribe last night. Swapped out the black beans for pinto’s (more Mex than Cuban) and added diced tomatoes & Hatch green chilies. Was a big hit and easy (which is what I was going for), oh and also swapped the Pablano, for two large Anaheim chilis.

Not a fan of the nursing side but love the chef side of taking care of my shut-in!

Your dinner sounds delish! Beans are an excellent source of both soluable and insoluble fiber. They are good for taking fats out of your system. Unless, of course, you're eating refried beans. Beans also have a fair amount of protein in them. I bet your wife appreciates your cooking!

There are two things I insist on. Firstly nobody goes over an obstacle before me unless I give permission it’s an accident waiting to happen and believe me I have had my share.

Secondly you wait your turn unless I say otherwise. Even Jack is getting the message.

The corned beef for dinner this evening is in the smoke in the kamado. Mesquite smoke. Beef can handle that.

Had to shovel the snow off the cooking deck. A pleasant 19°F. Might get more white shit this evening.

Nursing is hard. Have I told you that? She’s making progress though and last night I was able to sleep upstairs. She doing a little better everyday. New appreciation for all the work she does (all stay at home moms do) day in and day out. Good on all caretakers!

When my wife and I first got married, I thought it was high time I gifted her a present of a Colt .38. I mean, what woman wouldn’t like that?

We had that old money program Quicken on our computer where we had started doing financial tracking or what not. In the block under HOME Purchases or something she put in the header DAMN GUN!

So far I'm doing well in my class, but my last paper might have to be resubmitted...I comprehended the instructions wrong and didn't notice until after I sent it She usually compliments me on my work. It's nice to read her comments

^^This... so much, this. My first knee doctor was fixated on my weight. Ignored everything else - all my activity, previous dislocations... to him, weight loss was the only solution.

I fired him, researched knee docs, and saw someone else. That doctor did my first knee replacement when I was 40. Young for a replacement. But he told my mom, "There was more damage than the MRI showed. That knee was shot. The only option was a replacement."

I can relate... have some siblings like this, too

I admit - it took a few tries for me to come up with baking homemade potato chips/crisps I got there, but the first 2 or 3 guesses weren't appetizing. LOL

I'm one of those people where diet and exercise simply isn't enough. But with the statin, my numbers are controlled.

I love learning new things... and sharing knowledge with others. Watching their face as they learn something new, too.
