My life partner’s daughter is in ER with neck and joint pain, headache, and entire body rash. They are doing CT and spinal fluid test. Say a good word for them.

I hope it is not serious.

Hopefully something that can be treated or remedied easily and quickly.

Good morning everyone. It’s been a while since I’ve logged on, and real life events are dragging me away from Lit. I’ll still pop in occasionally, but I wanted to thank everyone here. ever got into the traditional Godzilla movies but the one with Matthew Broderick and Jean Reno? I've watched that one more than half a dozen times.

Two things:
1. sorry, I know it’s personal opinion, but that is considered the worst Godzilla movie ever made!! (By us Godzilla snobs, of course) and
2. Wasn’t Jean Reno the attorney general during the Clinton years??

Yep, got one I just shake my head at. In general, this one is pointed in the 'right direction'. But there's a whole big pile of lessons waiting to be learned the hard way. This one has never wanted to learn lessons taught by others, always wanted to learn them the hard way. The "pain method" of learning seems to stick better here. Had one "big scary lesson" jut the other day (OK, it really was nothing, but seemed huge from their perspective. LOL! ). Rather than call and ask advice first...

Like I said, headed in the right direction in general, just zig-zagging between some life lessons on the way.

I think they’ll turn out just fine!!

My dad was in the navy in ww2 and fought against the Japanese on a destroyer escort.

He absolutely hated them. But over time, he mellowed. He was a ford guy too, but his last car was a Subaru.

I said they actually made the planes in ww2. He shrugged. He didn’t care anymore.

He had let go, I think.

(Plus he did give me a love for Godzilla movies… somehow they were on the table)

Very few people carry a resentment like Dr. Tyler.

One of my dad’s friends left his left arm on Iwo Jima. When the 50th anniversary of the battle was coming up, the VFW reached out to him to see if he’d be interested in going back for the commemoration. His quote…”I ain’t going back over there and shaking their hands. Those bastards tried to kill me!”

I knew a guy - dead now - who turned 19 on Iwo. I think I told his story here a few (hundred) pages back.


They took on a shitty job and faced it head on and got it done.
