The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

This is a good place to share experiences like panic attacks. I was fearless of bridges and heights when in my 20s. Sometime in my late 30s I would dread going over long suspension bridges. It took me into my 60s with therapy and some Celexa that I don’t have them. I guess I don’t give a damn in my old age. But I sure wish I didn’t have them when I was younger.

Wishing you folks the best in managing them.

My brother has a bad case of PTSD and they've yet to do him any good...
It's almost as if one is left up to just trying to "process their way through it" on their own... sad.
There are some alternative treatments available that might help involving weed and mushrooms or LSD. They are not all that wild and minimal dosings. Some vets helped but them, swear by them. You might want to google it. There are clinics.

3 feet thicc... yeah that's a beefy building... but as a stile mill, may as well build it out of stone like that
It’s was a fulling mill. Where they washed sheep’s wool to get out impurities. Then around 1850 it was turned into a peach basket factory. Where we are was the center of the NJ peach boom.

Then it went bust in the peach blight (true story).

Was converted into a home around 1930 but it wasn’t very homey.

Morning all!

Welcome Alex and morning subdude. I’m up a bit earlier than I wanted. Watched the football game. Indiana looked good!

Cleaning out the old mill building today. We got a dumpster delivered yesterday, and we’re gonna purge a lot of shit the old tenant left behind.

Our rec club is having an open house tonight so I think we’ll go.
If i was closer i would come help
U all live too far away

There’s a few people on this thread who are pretty handy with tools and engineering and stuff.

I ain’t necessarily one of em!

Yeah, it’s a cool old building. And really stout. Walls are 3 ft thick and stone. The wood is in surprisingly good condition. We put a new roof on it. Now I’m replacing the windows 1 by 1. It’ll take me 27 more years! 😂
I say vroom.... chugga chugga.... and buzz... i am not handy....but i make a mean chocolate chip cookie and am charming in my own way

Many thanks. Ptsd kinda sucks, and not in the fun way
I wasteading somewhere that ptsd can be caused by the overproduction of adrenaline.... the fight or flight system... it made sense... in ptsd a lot of times it requires multimodal treatment.
I wonder if there is a way to inhibit the production of adrenaline (without adversely affecting a person)
Just a thought
