Wow L2 that's a serious summary...cudosPart 2:
TW - PTSD
The heavy stuff is in this part... feel free to skip because Self-Care is Health Care
Fuck - I hate panic attacks!! Hope you beat it into submission for a while to get a reprieve!
Hey! I was gonna say that! GMTA
Understatement!
Ain't that the damn truth! Just like migraines. Until you have one, it's just "a bad headache". Would not wish either on anyone!
Don't give up hope - medicine advances every day!! You never know what may work for you.
We still know so little about the brain... so what works for one might not for another.
My PTSD is not combat related - well military combat anyway. For me, finding the right therapist was essential... and with my 3rd great therapist, I found EMDR helped so much.
I read an interesting book about researchers using Virtual Reality for combat related PTSD. A spin on exposure therapy if IIRC - my layperson's take anyway.
At War with PTSD by Robert N. McLay MD PhD

And there's a wealth of resources out there, too. None are a fix or cure... I view them as tools in a toolbox. Not everything requires a hammer, but when you need something, it helps to have a toolbox full of options to try. Again - my perspective.
I hope you find something that works for you. PTSD is a beast...
I think that response isnormal!!
Fear of driving on bridges is so common that companies exist to provide you a driver just for the bridge. Iyou not!! Heard about this decades before the I-35W Bridge fell in Minneapolis.
The Cheasapeake Bay Bridge and Mackinac Bridge must be real beasts because there's more than one company you can call.
AI Overview
Again - took the words right outta my mouth. I will add - do not underestimate yourself. You have done a gazillion handy things... look at everything you've shared with us - the dresser in the closet, painting, helping your folks... and so many more!!
OMG - Rule of 5 is amazingly helpful IMO

Keep that work-life balance
Growing up, we had really, really strict rules about food in the house. Woe was them that broke 'em, too.
Mom always said with 8 kids she had enough critters in her house... without critters in her house.
So sorry for your loss
Win Column... pardon my French, but he sounds like a narcisisst and a right twat... glad she's got some distance. Family
Same - this is as close as I get
Like any tool - can be used for good or evil but so much about it makes my teeth itch

If you only knew... I almost never have actual milk in the house... when I do have milk, it's typically oat milk. Most folks who like cow's milk would not be happy with oat milk.
Nor would they care for the dry milk I always have on hand for baking. We haven't figured out if it's the casein, lactose, or whey but something about cow's milk does not play nice with me.
Chicken/Egg: Am I a black coffee/tea drinker by choice or necessity![]()
