It is really foggy out
So bad I took backwoods instead of interstate this morning.
Supposed to burn off by noon. Better but still foggy out the window her on 3rd floor.
Medicinal Booze
@Wonderer67 New band? :unsure:
Now that I think of it, saline spray is helpful with some of that sinus crap, too. I used to use it for prevention. It did seem to help.
Doc tells me the saline spray helps to keep the nasal passages hydrated.
Beware. No telling where that thumb had been.
The thumb smells funny😂.
Any wonder? 😆

My furnace isnt working
Wish I could fix it for you.
The year mine went out, they warned me it's typical for a/c to crap out the following season.
That was an expensive year.

I have to do laundry too

It goes like this

Wash..dry..dry..dry..dry...forget and have to wash again...dry...take the hard to iron shirts to mom to iron
I put off laundry and complain I have so much.
Mine goes wash dry for a few minutes hang. I don’t iron and like not using my dishwasher often, I don’t like how the dryer sucks the life out of my clothes. Or I’ve been on a life long mission to dress like it’s still the 90’s.

They were, of a more suck-ass type.

I remember seeing some oil pump rigs and two camels. I told Dr. Tyler a lie about the shyster salesman who convinced the Indians to trade their horses for camels and that's why they lost. Turns out the Army had a camel corps during the mid-19th century. Not for long, but there was one.
Yes. I think they made a trek from TX to CA or something. I seem to remember the war of northern aggression 😉 derailed the program? That or 20-Borax Mule teams were better?

Sounds like a job for @likes2watchU 🤷🏻‍♂️

Feeling better. Lingering cough. The wee lad started chumming the wastebasket at some point last night, so we still have a man down in the house. I’ve had it with sickness…had It I tell you.

I’m going old school and lighting a sage stick and going to fumigate this TeePee. Drive the sickness evil spirits back to where they belong.

Is it HumpDay yet? I do believe it is. Halfway there folks. Hang in there. Be the best you. Kiss the loved ones, human or furry, don’t matter. Call a loved one. Have a wonderful day!

As a kid each year we’d road-trip from SC to upstate NY. 95>15>81. Going, PA was the forever state. I remember not being able to sleep wanting to see what was over the mountain or around the next curve. That may have been inspired by a monotonous song sung on earlier trips. Then my brother would fart. Sisters would be in each others space. Someone would joke Dads not gonna turn this car around.
Coming home NC was the forever state. Virginia was long but somewhere in there we got a pee break. Va is super long on 81, different trips. We had sandwiches. Even though I thought I had seen every Stuckey’s that existed, I never saw inside one. I remember imagining really salty French fry’s. I think NC was made even longer by those silly signs for South of the Border. I remember holding my breath over the Pee Dee River bridge over a mile long. While at the same time trying to see if I could tell where the river was where we had been to by boat and going under the bridge.
Life was so simple. Guess I didn’t know much.
Those family road trips were special. My VA “must see” was the giant cigarette packs all lit up at Phillip Morris outside of Richmond. We always had to wait till Daddy got off work, so by the time we hit VA it was dusk or dark. The night scenes going into DeeCee were always cool also.

I was sent up to DeeCee one year to hang with my aunt and uncle for a summer. One of the most fun vacations I ever had. Long summer days playing with all my cousins friends. They were all much older. In fact my oldest cousin had just gotten her drivers license.

The problem was how to get an 8 yr old home? Enter mommas crazy middle brother. The one who was married for less than a month before she kicked him out. Liked his Bud’s and Swisher Sweet’s Cigarillo’s! Never wore a shirt in the summer, nut brown. He picks me up from Chantilly and moves the whole operation to Fredricksburg.

For the next two weeks we fished…like everyday fished. I’ve got some salty fishy uncles, but he was the Top-O-da-Heep! Man could catch fish in a mud puddle. We had to go see his GF, who was laid up in the hospital with some malady, but I remember they wouldn’t let kids in back in those days, so I got to sit in Virginia humidity and wait till he said his piece and then we’d go visit a kindly old couple who he either fished with or something. Anyhow, the lady of the house kept us fed.

The trip back to NC was the best. We left the couples house after eating and drove through the night. Stopping at no-shit truck stops (a new thing for me) and getting to listen to late night truckers. He had the obligatory CB in the K5 Blazer.

The funny thing, I remember all this like it was yesterday. My parents? They denied it ever happened? I quit trying to convince them. They swore they’d never turn me over to Uncle R for more than two hrs, much less two weeks.

Tragedy has a way of messing with ones mind…🤷🏻‍♂️

Yeah, those motherfucking sign-a-mile South of the Border Pedro signs.

That's a place we never went.

Never got any I-95 fireworks, either.
That was the closest place to home that had Blenheims Hot Ginger Ale. Some concoction my Grandaddy loved as a kid. We would stop by Pedro’s to get a case coming back from the farm.

I don’t remember liking it very much.

Hospital OR Waiting Room Coffee

Apparently I got the only cup?
They're telling everyone else it's a faulty pump & a new one is on the way.

Smells like something died in the cup. Tastes better - but not much.

Gonna be a long day 😩

Wow you bring back memories! I always felt like getting to the big cigarette packs was half way. And Dad wasn't about to let someone pass him, it was like a race track going through Richmond. Pop also hated he could not go straight through DC and see the monuments as we passed by. He'd get so frustrated with highway south of the city and getting stuck in mush on the other side. He also hated going the loop on 495. It was "out of the way". such an engineer.

I never understood Blenheims Hot Ginger Ale and why anyone liked it. You reminding me of it makes me think I still do not need to try it. However, that could be an amazing addition to the brine before smoking a butt.

DC at night. I forgot an event before I moved here. I loaded up a 17' uHaul with all the stuff I thought the moving company was going to rip me off for and all the stuff they would not move. A friend of mine helped me move. She was married by this time, but not happy with her sitch. He was Coast Guard and she got us on base to stay in a condo on Ft. Myer. I was exhausted. It was late about 1 or so and I was keeping my friend up. I grabbed another longneck and headed out to the open field where we had parked the car. At the crest of the hill I had an eagles eye view of the entire District. All the Monuments and Capitol fully lit up. An amazing sight. Breathtaking. Thought provoking. About that time "Freeze"! Two cars of MP's had come up and drawn arms on me. They were none to happy I was slow to follow instructions, but I was trying to get my bud to stand on the grass I didn't want to waste it. I had no ID or anything. Convinced them of my room number in the officers barracks, which one would only know if they were there. They woke my friend up and saw her card then let me in. I guess I wasn't supposed to be enjoying that jaw dropping view of DC I thought I would never forget. Until here you reminded me.

My friends here in VA and is SC that are like your mommas crazy middle brother, are likely some of the best people I have ever had the privilege to know. I am still on the fence if moonshine is good or not. I like plum brandy. Apple Pie was too sweet. Plum drunk was not always good s why I am still on the fence. Some on the lake where I never let on any secret fishing holes, I was allowed to name them. I found a photo topo map of the lake and used the burried school houses, churches, roads, and cemetaries... to name them. Made for fun games talking out loud on the radio catching fish when the guides were skunked.

Too "spicy" for most kids I reckon.
I'd love to try it now. Sounds delish! 😋
Seems like I drug the whole tribe through South-O-de-Border once a long while ago…place was pretty run down from what I remember. Found a bottle of Blenheim’s…I didn’t not like it like I remember, but still preferred what I’ve been used to.

Having said all that. Our company stocks up on Fever Tree Ginger Ale. It’s got a bite to it. I much prefer this now…so now you have me wondering? Maybe Ol’ Grandaddy was on to something….

Need to go find a bottle of Blenheim’s again.

For those that wonder…

And wonder more…

Which one, Pedro's or the hot ginger ale???
Pedro’s as a kid was cool. The ginger ale…not so much…but like I said to Likes2, my tastes have changed…so need to do a taste test.

I will say this…I stocked up on ginger ale/beer for this sickness…

I’m sick of GingerAle…just say’n.
